Our second time here...wanted to give it another chance, but wish we had not. We sat for one hour and no food. Last year, sat forever as well. They did tell us last year they were short staffed so we knew going in it may take a while. They said nothing today. The Rachael Sandwich was done extremely well with Just the right amount of Turkey. My sister tried on toasted Rye instead of a wrap. My Eggs Benedict was out of this world! Came in for Breakfast but left eating lunch. I had the meatloaf with mash, corn and cold slaw. Hit the spot delicious. Mom had homemade ham and green bean soup with 1/2 a roast beef sandwich. Have eaten here 2 times in the last week, once for lunch and once for breakfast. The lunch outing, the server was great, friendly and attentive, but irdered a medium well done burger and it came out rare, said something about it, and nothing got done. The breakfast was good other than cooking issues with the "crispy" scrapple i ordered was barely warmed, and the server was too busy running her mouth and flirting with a guy at the counter to do her job properly. Sent plate back because homefries were ice cold, and could hear cook complaining to server about it, all she fid was microwave the whole plate. We were down in Williamsport PA this year for the Little League World Series and found this diner on Yelp. My son, grandson & I had breakfast there 3 mornings and they were all delicious!! They have a nice menu and the waitresses were all very pleasant. One caveat- I ordered pancakes and didn't realize they were the size of a pie! I was passing through Williamsport today and stopped at Dolly's Diner hoping to get a classic diner meal. Based on the size of the menu it looks like breakfast is their number one meal but I decided to grab some lunch and ordered the open faced roast beef sandwich. First the positives, my waitress was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. It was very crowded and I was lucky to find a table. I should've known when I looked around me and everybody had breakfast on their tables but again I was looking for lunch. The open faced roast beef platter came out with mashed potatoes, roast beef piled on Texas toast and a side of corn. It was quite possibly the worst open faced roast beef sandwich I ever had, the meat was dry and burnt around the edges. I've had beef jerky that was more tender than this roast beef. On the other hand the mashed potatoes were excellent and the gravy was very good. Corn is corn and it could've used a little bit more butter. Even though my sandwich was horrible I'm willing to go back and give Dolly's a second chance and this time I will order breakfast. read more
