It was very noisy and made it difficult to have a conversation across the table. Service - our server was very pleasant, but service was extremely slow. In fact bar service was ridiculously slow. Food - I ordered the filet mignon which was recommended by our server. It was cooked to the temperature requested. It was not as tender as I had hoped, but it tasted good. Overall - this is a trendy place specializing in wine, located a block off of a street that is all about beer. In general, I not inclined to return.

To begin, we were pleasantly surprised that our table for 10 was ready as soon as we arrived, expecting to wait a bit for such a large party. Once we were seated, our server Oliver immediately came over to explain the tapas menu and get our drink orders. Tapas are priced $7-$20 à la carte, or you can order different tasting menu tiers based on what your group is hungry for. We ordered the $35 tasting menu (tapas only) and it was more than enough food! We tried the whipped sheep cheese, flank steak, garlic mushrooms, shrimp, patatas bravas, salmon, and more! We also ordered a pitcher of red sangria for the table that was delicious. The incredible food and the attentive service made Barcelona the perfect meal for a group of old friends to catch up. After visiting Barcelona, your wallet might not be happy, but your heart sure will!

Absolutely love this place and have been multiple times, the only reason I can't give five stars…read more.. is reservation system. Incredibly frustrating. What is the point of making a reservation if you are going to be seated 45 minutes after your scheduled reservation time? But if a guest checks in even slightly after their reservation time, they can be removed from the list, charged a fee or, in some cases, even banned from the reservation app. The expectations should go both ways. Unfortunately, the host experience made the situation even more frustrating. I watched the red haired host at the front desk seat people who appeared to be friends ahead of parties who had reservations. I even heard her say, "There's no manager tonight, I'll seat you guys now. They're putting silverware down." Meanwhile , we were still waiting well past our reservation time. Our only saving grace was our server, Shauna. This restaurant needs to hold onto her. She was an absolute light, and her personality, attentiveness, and recommendations completely saved the vibe of our night. She deserves recognition for the experience she provided. We will absolutely come back for Shauna but the restaurant as a whole could really benefit from a new host rotation and a serious look at how reservations are being handled. Don't let your hosts run a little high school hierarchy of seating their friends before reservations and returning locals. If you're going to take reservations, we honor them.

What a great spot!!! Honestly the thought if me at a wine…read morebar seems laughable, but dang it this place was great. It is in a small unmarked black trimmed red house next to an empty lot. I walked by it a couple times oblivious to the magic inside, I am so glad I took the suggestion and finally walked in. First off it is a wine bar, and really thats it. Full license for liquor and beer, but they are focused on wine and they know their stuff. It was so nice to be served wine by someone in a tshirt and without the snobbiness of terrior, just a glass and company to enjoy it. On to the details: There is a menu, half just bites like olives but there is a solid burger toward the bottom, They have a patio out back (I heard, but well over ninety degrees even at night I took their word for it. The pool table in back was nice, but a couple glasses if wine in, I know my limits. There was a couple recod players and a great vinyl collection in the corner, but the soundtrack playing was great so I never needed to peruse the collection. Once the place filled up (and it did, apparently it doesn't need any signs for the ones in the know to find it) it dod get pretty warm, the A/C units barely kept up, but it was neevr unpleasant. Word is the back patio also has another building that may become a cocktail bar in the future and I can't wait for that...

We will definitely be back for their happy hour soon!

The goat cheese and meatballs were phenomenal as usual, and the bruschetta board is always fun to get when you have someone with you to share it. Our waitress didn't give us the impression she wanted to service us. As someone who works in the service industry myself, this was quite disappointing. But the food and drinks were still served in a timely manner. I won't hold this against the entire establishment since this wasn't my experience at my hometown location. The area is walkable and fun. Getting to finally try it on the company dime is a definite win. But my review will be as if I paid, trust me. I'm very ethical :) The appetizers were so fun. I'm not a dill fan, but I wiped off the cream freche and dill powder from the Chicken BcNuggets and without the toppings, they were pretty bland. I tried the steak tartare (my first time ever having it) and it was divine. My coworkers couldn't get enough fo the Whipped Pimento Cheese. The main courses were so good - I got the Nashvile Strip Steak without cheese (lactose intolerant) and it was so delish. The toasted potato blini was amazing. A few people got the Mediterranean Branzino and it was a little fishy (but that was the only dish that got bad reviews). There were a few Risotto and Chicken dishes and they were well received. The desserts were heavenly, too. The experience was just wonderul and the staff was so attentive (but not too much so). Highly recommend for special occasions, just skip the fish.

The curse of Rumours continues!…read more I don't know that any business can survive this address. My first BW review of the year and it seems to have come as a surprise. Whispers abound as to whether the issue at VG was a rent hike or whether the owner just lost interest. In any event, it's the same sad story at the corner of 12th and Woodland. And that's too bad because VG acquitted itself nicely. On a Friday in mid-spring it was the exact right place I wanted to be to catch up with a friend. That backyard has been the stuff of legends for every iteration for a reason. If you've been here for a while, you know the score: walk in the front, smile, be greeted, ask for a table outside. That's just what we did. But before that we got drinks. Being a wine bar and being happy hour and being a Friday we went all in on the house red sangria. Served in a pleasantly large goblet, this goodie jar of wine and fruit did the job of quenching thirst and spurring conversation. To add to the libations, we settled on a series of bites: whipped feta (with sourdough -- and every bit of decadent as described in other reviews), olive tapenade (a briny, mound of oil, citrus and herbs) and (skinny) fries with parmesan & white truffle oil. Right?? What a perfect way to end the work week and begin the weekend. We had wonderful service from Abby and stayed on premises well into sundown. There was a steady crowd throughout our visit so I don't think a lack of business was the COD. Whatever the reason, it sort of boggles the mind that a wine bar concept can't stick around in a neighborhood and location that seems to crave it. That curse might be real.

The owner, Taylor, was also tending the bar during our visit, and he walked us through the concept while also providing thoughtful wine recommendations.
