BEWARE - Poor customer service and dishonesty…read more We bought an LG refrigerator from Canadian Discount Appliances, 808 Courtland Ave E, Kitchener, on January 26. About an hour later, we called to request a refund after finding a better option at Costco with free delivery. The store said a full refund was not possible because delivery was already scheduled, but they agreed to refund $50 back to my Mastercard to match Costco's free delivery. Delivery was scheduled for the next day between 8-11am, and we specifically requested a 15-minute call before arrival, which was agreed to. No one called. At 2pm, we were told deliveries were delayed. Around 4:30pm, the delivery driver called yelling, screaming, claiming we didn't open the door--despite never calling ahead. His behavior toward my husband was rude and unprofessional. As of February 6, the promised $50 refund back to my Mastercard was still not issued. When we called the store, the manager was hostile, made false accusations, refused to listen, and hung up. The store manager made statements that were untrue to justify refusing the $50 refund. Very disappointing experience. Poor communication, unprofessional conduct, and unresolved refund. Save yourself the headache and shop at a reputable big-box store instead.

I visited two grocery stores in the Kitchener-Waterloo area within two hours. Both visits were…read morehighly unexpected. After lunch, I had originally thought of going to see a movie. I was heading to the VIP theatre in Kitchener when I saw Farm Boy. I got more excited visiting this store that I ended up deferring my movie. I had heard good things about Farm Boy. The closest one to my home is in Pickering. I have yet to go. This Farm Boy shares the same parking lot as Canadian Tire. As a result, there is tons of parking. It felt like an epiphany when I walked through the automatic doors. Lots of leafy greens on my left. I was so happy! Farm Boy reminds me of visiting Trader Joe's in the States. You can basically find a variety of yummy food items no matter what dietary restrictions that you may have. I found bags of Vegan Rob's snacks. I am borderline lactose-intolerant. Three bags were going for $4. Naturally, I bought three. The dairy-free cheddar puffs are amazing! And then, I got all happy at the bakery. My beloved Portuguese egg tarts were here! You can get six for $7.99. Done! They are even better the day after. So yummy! I also bought some dairy-free hot chocolate. It's perfect for this time of year. I am also a hot chocolate addict. I went to cash out. A cheerful woman asked if I needed a bag. At first, I said no. I then remembered that I have a bag clipped to my purse. It's a penguin that you unstuff to get your shopping bag. She thought that it was so cute. She bagged my goodies, which was wonderful. Prices are pretty good. I liked the variety of items. They all looked good and fresh. Whenever I am in the area, I'd definitely coming over here. (20)

While $0.30 may not sound like much, but if you get 400 to 500g that's just around $1.00 to $1.50 which is a big difference. I ordered the 10 inch vegan pizza and it was delicious. It was made in a wood oven and the crust was great. Best of all, it was only $8.99. Loved it. I didn't take a look around elsewhere, but I will be sure to check out the location closer to home.

I always like to go to Out of the Past when I'm looking for something funky…read more I've been to their locations in both Hamilton and Kitchener and I must say that the one in Kitchener is MUCH more awesome! The girl that was working the counter was friendly and helpful, even when they didn't have what I was looking for. But whether you're on the hunt for a funky vintage dress, fun alternative spiked jewellery, or something to add to your goth/steampunk wardrobe, Out of the Past most likely has something for you. I've found everything there from vintage back braces to Ugly Christmas Sweaters, to huge spiked collars, to military wear, to Lipservice and TRIPP clothing. It's kind of hit-or-miss if they'll have what you want, being as a lot of it is vintage. Of course they can't guarantee what will be there. . .but it's always an adventure going in and hunting around for that treasure that you feel is probably hiding just beyond your sight somewhere. . .

I was originally looking for a Velvet Underground tee (the Andy Warhol one) but like Catacombs down the street they didn't have it. They did however have the Joy Division shirt that I've been looking for. The shirt was priced at $20 and the woman said that if I just pay with cash she won't charge any tax so another win. I also think the staff is really friendly but the place does look a little shady and the changing "rooms" are just little spaces with a curtain and a mirror on a chair lol
