For students who love thrift shopping, but find it hard to find something for them each time, this store should leave you satisfied every time. Their prices are really fair as well, usually ranging between $10-$20 for an item of clothing. As an example, I've see ASOS shorts go for $16 (which could be 2-3 times as much originally) and an Aritzia winter coat go for $150 (originally $300+). They often have brands you'll recognize like Zara, American Apparel, Aritzia, Urban Outfitters, etc. and they post their new arrivals on Instagram, but since they don't hold new arrivals those clothes can get snatched up within the day. They also sell accessories like sunglasses, atlas watches, scarves, and necklaces. The store itself is really nice and quaint. It's got an industrial style with brick walls and wooden furnishings. They also have a change room and one person working to help you out.

There's a lot of H&M and Forever 21 finds (it is a university town), but you'll also see nicer brands like BDG or Guess. I'm a little disappointed there's less vintage pieces that weren't large. However, they do a really good job of creating a cool mood through their displays and decor and indie music - even the plainest tank can catch your eye. Overall, a cute spot to stop by if you're in the area. Support sustainable local shops!

The girl that was working the counter was friendly and helpful, even when they didn't have what I was looking for. But whether you're on the hunt for a funky vintage dress, fun alternative spiked jewellery, or something to add to your goth/steampunk wardrobe, Out of the Past most likely has something for you. I've found everything there from vintage back braces to Ugly Christmas Sweaters, to huge spiked collars, to military wear, to Lipservice and TRIPP clothing. It's kind of hit-or-miss if they'll have what you want, being as a lot of it is vintage. Of course they can't guarantee what will be there. . .but it's always an adventure going in and hunting around for that treasure that you feel is probably hiding just beyond your sight somewhere. . .

I was originally looking for a Velvet Underground tee (the Andy Warhol one) but like Catacombs down the street they didn't have it. They did however have the Joy Division shirt that I've been looking for. The shirt was priced at $20 and the woman said that if I just pay with cash she won't charge any tax so another win. I also think the staff is really friendly but the place does look a little shady and the changing "rooms" are just little spaces with a curtain and a mirror on a chair lol

Went to this store the next day to pick something up and found one loveseat and the tv stand in the dumpster out back. Spoke to the manager who showed me a rip now in the loveseat that wasn't there before, and told me they didn't sell tv stands after having been told by the driver they did. He apologized but was dismissive and not accountable for the rip. Can't recommend this outfit and won't donate anything to them ever again. My intentions were to have these go to another home that could use them, but never did see the other items in the store.

Staff are kind & friendly, selection is varied & nicely displayed, and they gratefully receive anything that anyone is lead to donate. They don't display or sell "junk"...but, their staff check out all electrical items & computers, and they probably receive some recompense for "recycling" some of the things that they don't sell. One can check out their online site to read about their mission statement, which is excellent. I wish their store hours were extended on Thur. & Fri. eves, but hey...these good folks are volunteers, so we adapt. Brides! Go see a large bridal dress area. Happy shopping, everyone!
