I happen to be in the West Palm Beach area meeting a friend for coffee and stopped by this Ollie's. Good timing. It's a pretty big outlet with lots of affordable options on new items. I will say the book selection here is quite nice. I saw a lot of cool books that I would definitely buy. I have way too many books as is, so I didn't need to buy that many more. Ha. The prices were fair and a really good deal. They have another location in the Delray Beach area as well. Unfortunately, they don't have any Ollie's locations closer to me, but that's ok because I don't need to spend more money on BOOKS!!! This was a good find all in all and I'm glad I got to stop by and check it out. They sell tons of other stuff too but I was laser focused on the books during this trip.

I decided to go actually visited a few of them and I could not believe it the same brand scrubs I paid high prices for at unbelievable prices (Cherokee, Dickies, Healing Hands, etc..). They have all-for-all clothes, HomeGoods, automotive, makeup, shoes, and everything for everyone at super good prices. Now don't expect prestige service staff can and will be rude at times I experienced that in all stores that I visited, but with those prices I did not mind.

They had a van parked out front with someone soliciting donations for an unknown charity. I'm unsure how much business they assumed to do outside of a dollar store, but props to them for having the courage to stay any longer than I did. When I walked in, I was hit with the smell of what I assume was food going bad. I walked the entire store, even though I knew exactly what I was looking for, and it was upsetting. Having worked in both hospitality and retail, I would be ashamed to own, or even work at this establishment. The floors were dirty, the shelves were dirty and the inventory was a mess. They must be short-staffed, as they only had two cashiers working the registers, although one was hanging out in the back room (or excuse for a back room, it's only enclosed by it's walls, you could throw a baseball over the top). The young gentleman that rang me up was very nice, and wished me a Happy New Year. I would've offered him a job if it wasn't for the line of customers looking at me like I didn't belong there. I've lived here for a few months, and now I understand why my neighbors say to shop farther south.

So it turned out to be very convenient to get to. There's ample parking in the large lot. I was looking for something I'd seen in one of their other stores. They had it, so I was happy. But of course, we had to browse a bit. We wound up also getting some candy and a few toys for the grandkids. The staff was very helpful at checkout, as well. I'd come back here if in the area.

When I went in I told the greeter / loss prevention guy that the sprinkler systems is on, even though he could clearly see since he is standing in front of the door. He responded to me "there's really nothing that I can do about that". I looked at him and I responded back actually there is you can tell your manager so that the manager can let the property management company know that the sprinkler system is coming on at odd hours during business and is NOT positioned correctly where it doesn't squirt your customers trying to get into your store. I looked at him and said "Better yet I will tell him myself". Going to any Dollar Tree just a few days before Christmas isn't exactly my idea of a fun time but I…read moreneeded quite a few Christmas cards and didn't want to spend a lot of money on the cards. Since my husband and I just eaten lunch at a nearby restaurant, we decided to stop in at this Dollar Tree location. Yes, the store was very busy inside. The interior was fairly clean and shelves stocked. We were able to find what we needed without too much trouble. There was still a wide variety of cards just a few days before Christmas, which was surprising in a nice way. Several employees were on hand to straighten the mess that some customers make, so moving around the store was easy and clutter free. Two or three (I wish I could remember how many) cashiers kept the check out lines moving. Our cashier was very pleasant. After I paid, I noticed some Sunday papers on an end cap I previously didn't notice. I went fairly quickly through the line for the second time to pay for a newspaper. This time, I accidentally left my wallet on the counter. As I exited the store, the couple behind me called out to me to ask if I'd forgotten my wallet. I hurried back into the store. The young man working the register had it behind the counter waiting for me. What a relief and a Christmas miracle!! This location is now my favorite Dollar Tree!

And as I said in a previous tip, it was neat and organized. I'm so used to stacked up boxes or half opened boxes filling the aisles. And usually some sections looking like the locusts (or a horde of unruly kids) had rummaged through every item. But this store by contrast was pin perfect. They must have a great management team plus allow for sufficient overtime for all their stock to be properly displayed. I bought a brown sugar listed @ $2.25 charged $3.00, paper towel @ $2.00 charged $3.00. Unfortunately i didnt realize this till i got home. Only 1 employee there today in store, couldnt be found for 10 minutes and long lines so i was rushing to cash my items AND DID NOT LOOK AT BILL.
