I normally go the Dollar Tree in Troy (in the Walmart plaza) but I was on my way to Panera to pick up curbside, and this was the only dollar store in that area. It had kind of an old/funky smell inside. I saw they had cards through the window, so that was encouraging, but their Halloween selection is pretty limited; they maybe had like 10 different card designs to choose from, but 7-8 of those were for little kids (grandkids, children, etc). I ended up buying five for family and friends, and good thing I did because they have a $5 minimum limit for credit cards. The final reason I'm giving them 3 stars: the cashier was not wearing a mask. The man next to him beside the counter was, FWIW. He had a very thin layer of plastic sheeting between me and him, so I'm guessing that's why he thought it was fine ... however, I'm "high risk," so I definitely wiped off my credit card with a wipe when I got back to my car. I wouldn't stop by here again, I will just go to Dollar Tree next time. But they do have a lot of cards (non-Halloween ones) if you need them.

We were looking for small bins to tidy up our cupboards and linen closet and found just what we needed. We also found a nice coat rack for the wall by our back door. The staff was super friendly and helpful with their suggestions as they guided us to what we were looking for. As of this writing 5/10/26 they're condensing the store to make room for Bed Bath and Beyond merchandise, so there's some great clearance prices. We're looking forward to returning for more organization ideas and to see the look of the store once the transformation is complete. Keep this store in mind if your spaces need organizing because there is definitely something for every room and everybody.

Luckily, my daughter and her girlfriend are experts and gave us the list of what to get. All available at Dollar Tree. DT's most appealing feature is the fact that everything is a dollar. For my MIL...gifts from the dollar store. I bought a few things for her kitchen, socks, deodorant, breath mints and mylar balloons.....all for under $20. Happy Birthday, Mom! Can't wait for Christmas, hohoho. These DT ladies are incredibly friendly and patient. Even though they see me twice a year and know I'm only buying gifts for my satanic MIL and cheap-ass FIL. I am greeted with a smile and thoughtful conversation. They always seem curious as to when my flight for Tahoe leaves. I've explained it's a flight to Reno at least six times. They may be goofing on me, oh well. Let's sum it up. Cost: everything is a dollar; staff: friendly but strange; stock: everything but the kitchen sink. Reasonable hours, too. 1/20
