Imagine that. A store with "dollar" in the title selling things for a "dollar." If I wanted items that cost more, I'd probably hit a Big Lots. Like a lot of you I have in-laws. D-o-l-l-a-r T-r-e-e! For my MIL...gifts from the dollar store. I bought a few things for her kitchen, socks, deodorant, breath mints and mylar balloons.....all for under $20. Happy Birthday, Mom! Can't wait for Christmas, hohoho. These DT ladies are incredibly friendly and patient. Even though they see me twice a year and know I'm only buying gifts for my satanic MIL and cheap-ass FIL. I am greeted with a smile and thoughtful conversation. They always seem curious as to when my flight for Tahoe leaves. I've explained it's a flight to Reno at least six times. After entering the store and waiting in line to do an exchange on my items. I was refused service of exchanging my items. After be directed over to your store manager Bob. He refused to assist in any way. Mumbling and what not. When I asked for information to his higher ups he continued to ring customers ignoring that I was standing right there. He stated "we can refuse any return or exchange" with no written explanation outlined in any policy. Of what they will take back or won't. Even when going to Dollars Tree website there is no information about this policy. When calling Dollar Tree customer support it continues to just ring and ring. Moral to this story. Don't buy anything you don't want to keep. Don't expect if it states on the receipt that they do not offer returns, only exchanges. That they won't flat out refuse to do an exchange as well.

Maybe they don't have any vendor openings or they don't think my art is a good fit. That's fine. However, I think a courtesy email telling me that should be a normal expectation, though? My total came up to a bit less than $50. After paying instead of just handing me the receipt, she asked me if I wanted it. I don't like carrying around unnecessary stuff so I just said "no thank u" without thinking too hard about it. To my surprise the phone charge cord I purchased which is right upfront by the registers DOES NOT WORK, so I called to explain it wasn't working & to ask if they could EXCHANGE it for me (still in it's packaging) and she very impolitely started talking over me and said without the receipt they couldn't even do an exchange. I told her it's still in the package and everything she continued to talk over me just saying "NO", "NO", "NO"... Finally I had enough of the rudeness and just hung up. I will NEVER IN MY LIFE SPEND ANOTHER DIME IN THAT ESTABLISHMENT SINCE THEY CANNOT RESPECT & HONOR THE CUSTOMERS WHO KEEP THEM IN BUSINESS! Absolutely ghetto and ridiculous!!

We were looking for small bins to tidy up our cupboards and linen closet and found just what we needed. We also found a nice coat rack for the wall by our back door. The staff was super friendly and helpful with their suggestions as they guided us to what we were looking for. As of this writing 5/10/26 they're condensing the store to make room for Bed Bath and Beyond merchandise, so there's some great clearance prices. We're looking forward to returning for more organization ideas and to see the look of the store once the transformation is complete. Keep this store in mind if your spaces need organizing because there is definitely something for every room and everybody.

They stared at us, didn't speak. Multiple people walked in and were greeted right after us. We tested it to go look by the objects that were by the workers and they still stare at us with no smile. The store is not welcoming. It is purely prejudice and it is taught by management.

There is a nicer selection of merchandise including designer clothes that the other stores don't have. Yes - it can be a bit messy, but there are a lot of people in there messing with the items. If I have a choice - I'll pick this TJ Maxx over others. I almost always find something I can use or wear.
