I normally go the Dollar Tree in Troy (in the Walmart plaza) but I was on my way to Panera to pick up curbside, and this was the only dollar store in that area. It had kind of an old/funky smell inside. I saw they had cards through the window, so that was encouraging, but their Halloween selection is pretty limited; they maybe had like 10 different card designs to choose from, but 7-8 of those were for little kids (grandkids, children, etc). I ended up buying five for family and friends, and good thing I did because they have a $5 minimum limit for credit cards. The final reason I'm giving them 3 stars: the cashier was not wearing a mask. The man next to him beside the counter was, FWIW. He had a very thin layer of plastic sheeting between me and him, so I'm guessing that's why he thought it was fine ... however, I'm "high risk," so I definitely wiped off my credit card with a wipe when I got back to my car. I wouldn't stop by here again, I will just go to Dollar Tree next time. But they do have a lot of cards (non-Halloween ones) if you need them.

After entering the store and waiting in line to do an exchange on my items. I was refused service of exchanging my items. After be directed over to your store manager Bob. He refused to assist in any way. Mumbling and what not. When I asked for information to his higher ups he continued to ring customers ignoring that I was standing right there. He stated "we can refuse any return or exchange" with no written explanation outlined in any policy. Of what they will take back or won't. Even when going to Dollars Tree website there is no information about this policy. When calling Dollar Tree customer support it continues to just ring and ring. Moral to this story. Don't buy anything you don't want to keep. Don't expect if it states on the receipt that they do not offer returns, only exchanges. That they won't flat out refuse to do an exchange as well.

To my surprise the phone charge cord I purchased which is right upfront by the registers DOES NOT WORK, so I called to explain it wasn't working & to ask if they could EXCHANGE it for me (still in it's packaging) and she very impolitely started talking over me and said without the receipt they couldn't even do an exchange. I told her it's still in the package and everything she continued to talk over me just saying "NO", "NO", "NO"... Finally I had enough of the rudeness and just hung up. I especially love that Marie Kondo has a collaboration with The Container Store now as well! :) Everything is great here, but I definitely avoid coming here too often given the prices, but when the need arises for something either in a pinch or I'm looking for some storage that is cute and uniform, I definitely come here to take a peek at what they have either to purchase them or for inspiration on what styles I like best so that I can find it elsewhere on the internet for cheaper. Sorry to The Container Store for doing that, but they're just in that spot that's slightly and uncomfortably out of my budget to do a bunch of consistent shopping at for me!

I came here to grab something quick with my friend and there was a man at the cash register who was…read morechecking people out. He helped everyone ahead of me and as soon as it was my turn he pretended to be busy so he did not have to help us. I wear a hijab so I'm visibly Muslim and he did not want to check me out. I waited longer than 5 min in line and it kept getting longer behind me, but he still would not call next, hoping for someone else to check me out. My friend and I ended up leaving our items and walking out. As soon as we passed his register he went to the cash register and called for the next customer. I have never been so blatantly discriminated against and will never step foot into this location again. I called to speak to a manager and the assistant manager (who was apologetic for this man's behavior) let me know that he was in fact a manager which made the situation worse. Very disappointed in this type of behavior especially in this day and age.
