Love this store for the variety of items they carry. Items are no longer under a dollar but the value remains. Some items can run from $1.25 to over $5.00. Some things are on the overpriced side but the convenience is worth it. Only on caveat, don't come during daylight, there are lots of seniors (not bashing them) who shop this store. I would recommend you visiting early morning when they open, late night, or rainy days. Service is a hit and miss, if I use my own advice and shop late there's a cashier always available with little to no line. read more

Will be my first review for Dollar tree. Admittedly, I've gone to several locations have never really noticed how clean this specific one is. They have a fairly large selection, but the shelves are always neatly stacked and organized. I can always appreciate chaos in a chaotic type of retail store. I've always had a really good service from their people who are willing to help. There's nowhere else you can go for most of everything for 1.25 anymore. Most things are $1.25 now but still great selection in an organized store with nice employees. Great place for Mylar balloons, $1.50 each. The cashier was not experienced and impolite. Worse, the manager was unprofessional, unethical and terrible In attitude and communication. She was either burned out or hate her job. Problem: I was deprived of a receipt. And treated like they were giving out free products. The line was very long to begin with and only one cashier I bought 10 items Upon Learning one of them was more than what I expected, i asked her to return it before I paid. Cashier stated "we have to charge it" "Then do a refund." I had to comply But she did not give me the receipt I told the manager, a Hispanic Woman in her 40s, she seemed agitated, stating, "I don't know anything about the receipt. "I was not here." instead of searching for one. I insisted for my request, Cashier kept reiterating "I gave it to you." She did not She was concerned about the older woman customer who left and returned, demanding a refund. They should ask her to wait until mine was done. I showed both of them my bag and Wallet Multiply times. No dollar's receipt. Still, they dismissed my request. In fact The manager shouted, "I don't care about receipt!" And took off. She was very unhappy, nearly ballistic. And she displayed this negative affect after she refused a consumer what she is entitled to have. it's my consumer right I waited 25 min in line 2 min for the transaction. 2 more min because they attended to a customer (who left and returned they took care of her before mine was finished.) I don't appreciate any of that. My time is valuable. I paid full for all my products. They were not free. They demonstrated No basic courtesy, much less appreciation. No professionalism. I Strongly disapprove their polices. I later left the regional manager a message- not the mean and angry manager mentioned above. Do you think they will return my call? read more

At certain times of day, there are up to 10 to 12 people in a line waiting ...most of the time the staff is very friendly. There is one person whom I am assuming might be a manager or assistant manager, who really doesn't seem to like her job ....she told me to hurry up ! I asked her who she was talking to and was it me ....and she said yes I wasn't sure which Check stand she was opening. I told her she wasn't very nice. She said yes I am. I said no you're not. It is one of the nicer Dollar trees as far as organization, products, and associates. This has to be the worst managed store ever. Needed 2 sympathy cards today. Found them and got in a very long line (as usual). Go near the front and saw a cash only sign. I had to get out of line to go get cash. Came back and got back in line with a $20. The checker (male, blonde, glasses) who is always rude told me he didn't have change. I asked him to get some like the checker at the next check stand had just done. He said no. I know he had $16 change in his register from all of the customers before me. The Asian/philipino/vietnamese appearing cashier with a short bob haircut should be FIRED. Unfortunately, I did not get her name but if I am there next time since I live in Seal I will be getting her name and adding it to this Yelp review. She was so blatantly rude to a paying customer today 8/8/2025. She was aggressively handed an elderly woman her card and when the elderly woman kindly asked that she be more polite the Asian cashier women started blatantly YELLING at her staring this verbatim- "whatever, you need to just leave and get out. It's always old people that expect special treatment!!". Uhm, first of all what kind of paid employee thinks this kind of commenting is OKAY?!? Common decency and mannerism is just so dead in our culture and it's disgusting. I witnessed the same older lady actually let THREE people go ahead her right before that lane had opened too, yes, she was kind enough to let others go ahead of her. To top it off a torta customer in bright pink shorts was defending the employee for literally yelling and harassing a paying customer?! Lady, if you do not like working there here is an idea- DONT WORK THERE. Find another job that requires minimal human interaction? I've worked ALL kinds of jobs before becoming an Rn, I would have never treated a customer that way. Horrible. I hate posting negative reviews but that employee needs to be held accountable. She could have just let it go but she has to start insulting old people? Just SO beyond unprofessional. I left and told her "I hope you feel better". They started down the 99 cent failure path. I went in to my favorite store. Nice people, Clean store. I bought my stuff and noticed my bill seemed high. The cheese I bought because it was convenient and $1.25 was actually $3. I would have never bought it. I know they are charging more for some items but this is the first and last time for me. I shop at this store all the time. I bought batteries and all of them were dead. I bought several packages. I went to the store to return them. The Assistant Store Manager Alma was very rude. She looked at the open package with disdain and said you can't return it and walked way. I let her know that I had unopened ones she walked back stared at the receipt for the longest time, then told the cashier to go ahead with the return. She then say my shopping bag and I said that is is my bag, she said "I don't touch customer bags because the last time there were roaches in it". She is not the kind of employee anyone should have, and how she got to be the Assistant Store Manager is disconcerting. First HORRIBLE experience at this store! Chris was very rude and seemed to be racist. He greeted every customer that was in line as they were next to be checked out, nope not me. Then rudely asked if I could take me stuff out the hand basket. I did so. He moved my reuseable bag to the other side where they bag. Then asked if I wanted a bag. The store hours are not right on yelp, they are only open until 9 pm and 10 pm during holidays (better to call to double check). When we got in, we tried to ask one of the employees until what time they were open but she completely ignored us (twice lol), I almost thought she was an angry customer who got offended we confused her for an associate but no, the angry lady works there and hates it. I mainly go here to get gift bags tissue paper and cards. Candy such as Hersheys Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are a great price if you eat candy. Most times it's fairly clean. This Dollar Tree was very rude recently as I needed to make an exchange. I shop at that store at least 3xs a week. They know me. I am constantly spending $ there. How can you not love a store like this? They have everything I use on almost a daily basis. Irish springs check Angele soft check heck they even have and don't you laugh Palmal dish soap. What it's what mom bought and it really does keep the hands soft. A large selection of frozen food and you can find ice cream and if you're really lucky you will find the frito lays nacho cheese. They have all kinds of stuff that you may need and plenty of stuff you don't but you will impulse buy anyway. read more

6/10 Yelp Challenge 2016 This place is ultra clean. Probably the best looking Dollar Tree I've ever been in. I went in about an hour before closing and I thought it was closed already as I drove up, because there weren't any cars in the parking lot. I then saw some EMT's walking in (what are they getting?). Given the location (next to Leisure World) and this sleepy part of the community of Seal Beach, I guessed that I wouldn't see a lot of people frequenting it on a Sunday at 7pm. I was so right! Anyhow, the staff was super helpful (asked about the the new solar pathways lights they are now carrying). My son and I had a ball in here. We've been talking about our future move and how we want to decorate and the crafts we could do together. So, we found a wire base for a wreath in their Thanksgiving/Fall section. I found mesh ribbon in white and iridescent. He picked out a gold mesh ribbon. He picked out iridescent and white flowers. He chose a silver doorknob decoration. I found glue sticks for my glue gun. He found some white carnations. We will be making a predominantly white winter wreath together. So exciting. Oh, other than that, the store was much bigger and more organized than the Dollar Tree by my house, so that was refreshing. I got to see other stuff and more of it. They had less books, though, but more crafting supplies. So, it all evens out. I'd shop here again...only if I'm in the area. I buy cat food to donate to a local group and I specifically look for it at this store. I went in last night and loaded up my cart with 50 cans of food along with a few other miscellaneous items. I wait in line, finally my turn. Elderly lady was the cashier, very unfriendly. I think her name was "Georgie" or "Georgia". The cashier looks at me, looks at the cans in my cart and says, "we're out of bags and you can't take the cart out to your car". I was like, "that's completely ridiculous, you're the people out of bags. how would you expect me to get these cans to my car then if not in the cart?" So she proceeds to tell me that I might steal the cart and that's why they don't let people take them outside. What? I was well dressed, clean, with funds in hand. I mean, know your customer base. I'm going to steal this cart? This cart with the foam pool noodle on it? No, I'm really not. She then tells me that I can use another cart to take to my car and points to some folding cart against the wall. I was done. I wasn't about to un-load the cart into another cart to take to my car and unload. That's just stupid. I walked away. Dollar Tree must not need the sales. What a nice way to let your customers know you welcome their business. I think the cashier just didn't want to ring up my purchase-she would have had to ring each can separately and I don't think she wanted to do that. This is the first time anything like this has happened at this store. They usually have bags and have never given me a hard time about taking the cart to my car, unloading it and returning it. Last night was a new experience for me, I'm only sorry that I let it annoy me as much as it did. I will not be back to this store. read more

I came to the dollar store to get a few items for my students. I was over charged by one item. I went back and asked nicely to let them know I was over charged. These two middle age ladies, one with red dyed hair and the other with dyed dirty blond hair, were extremely rude and unprofessional. I blame the manager for allowing employees to treat customers this way. They chose to work at the dollar store and customer service comes with that territory. Very very disappointed, just left the Dollar Tree in Seal Beach which closes at 10 pm ( I googled it! ). When I got there it was closed. The close time on the door was missing. Also there was a guy sweeping inside and I knocked on the door and asked him why they were closed and he said 9pm and turned his back to ignore me. So last summer when I started to drive for Uber, there was a viral video making it's way through the driver community of this woman who went off on an unsuspecting driver about the dashboard decoration he choose to adorn his car with - a hula girl. This woman seemed to be highly offended and yet enjoying that she captured her tiraid on video, but her behavior toward the driver on that trip was more abhorrent than anything she expressed in those few moments. And as I entered into this store to stretch my legs and walk around after eating over at the Carl's Jr. with whom this Dollar Tree shares a parking lot with, up on the window ledge near the front door there were these happy little plastic hula girls and dancing flowers in a row just waving away in the late afternoon sunlight. Their sight took me right back to the moment I saw that video for the first time. Should I be offended by this iconic sexist female form or the fact that someone had the audacity to dream that a blooming plant could ever dance like nobody's watching without the benefit of a windy day? The answers to these questions are better left for another time. Off the beaten path, I like this location of Dollar Tree. Each one has it's own unique personality and this store is cool. Dollar Tree, in general, has a good variety of items that allow you to save cash on routine household and party items. This store, however, stands above the rest in my mind. The store is huge, neatly maintained, well stocked and has plentiful parking. I've been to this Seal Beach store a few times, and I've never run into overcrowding or long register lines. Whenever I'm in the area, I try to swing by just to pick up some deals on cleaning supplies, toothpaste, detergent, etc. I wish I could find a plastic hula girl tho... read more

I prefer this Dollar Tree store to any other location as it is stocked well with seasonal decorations and arts and craft supplies. I like the convenience of the location as it is pretty well organized and never too busy with shoppers. I can easily stop in and shop given there is ample parking and the lines at checkout are never long. I do enjoy the endless supply of seasonal items that you can find for the holidays. I work right by this place and I'm constantly always going in there to either pick a few things up, or just look at what new products they have. Which they seem to get very often because there's always a great selection to pick from. It's extremely clean and organized. You can tell the employees care about their appearance as a store. The staff is always so friendly and helpful, not once have I felt as though I'm bugging them or as if they just hate working there. They make small conversations at the register to make you feel even more welcomed. I will continue to shop and visit as long as I work near by. read more

I was in the store on January 17, 2016. As I was looking around, I found that someone had left their cellphone on a shelf by the toilet paper. I picked up the phone to take it to the front, to turn it in to the store personnel. Thinking that someone would be so sad to lose this phone. When I picked it up, suddenly a young man named "Tyrell" yelled at me, "That is my phone and you better put it back right now!" He is an employee of this Dollar Tree. I tried to explain to him that I found it and was going to take it to the front, because I thought someone had lost it. He came at me, I set it down real quick and got out of there. ONE-He shouldn't have yelled at me, a customer TWO-Why did he leave it on the shelf?? I will not be shopping there if he is in there. I will leave and come back later. The employees have a horrible attitude, which goes all the way to the manager, "Maria", who slithers around the store, refusing you help if you need it. Really crappy customer service. I usually enjoy the service at this dollar tree but the experience my mom and I had tonight was horrible. Serena the sales girl should probably not work with customers. We walked in she looked at us and said nothing my mom stood their waiting for a greeting which didn't happen until she spoke to the girl later identified as Serena. The gentleman that came in after us was greeted friendly by the girl. Then while checking out the man in front of us who happened to be white she was friendly and had conversation with him. We were next and she's pretty much throwing my mom's purchases into her bag and didn't even hand her the receipt in her hand. So when she got to me I was unhappy and confronted her with the treatment we had received and ask for her name which she refused to give and started arguing with me about how she was nice to us which is a lie from the pit of hell!!! I stopped her because I had no time to go back and fourth with her and after I finished with my purchase I went to find the manager which was very pleasant and told me she would handle it.
