Nowhere near as good as the 99 Cents store, but since we don't have one of those in SJC, this will have to do. The stores down and could really use a remodel, but there are plenty of good finds for one dollar. Are usually come here for birthday parties or small household items. Stopped by here to get party supplies for my husbands birthday. There was only one cashier and the girl in front of me was getting balloons so the cashier called for back up (I was in front of the line). The cashier asked her to help me, then another woman walked right in the door with like 15 items to return and just cut in front of me. The girl cashier didn't even care, she just helped the lady who cut the line instead of me. When it was my turn I let her know that it was rude and she called me a RETARD. When I tried telling the original older cashier she said "You can talk to me because I'm the manager." Seriously?????? SO inappropriate and what am I supposed to do if she is literally the manager?? I am actually autistic and you can't really tell from looking at me but I went to my car and cried. Idk what to do in this situation but I am NEVER going back there. I didn't get her name but she was Hispanic with really long hair and maybe between age 26-33 I can't really tell. read more

i keep trying to give this store a chance because it's in my hometown, but today was the last day to try. the store was packed and as i walked by employees area, I heard laughing joking, conversation. Not a bad thing, but when i got to the checkout, i counted 18 in Line, one young man who looked very disheartened and barely spoke up when he said, help the next person in line. there were also people in line who wanted balloons which made the wait worse. there was another woman who said, I ordered24 balloons and the lady told me they would be ready. she compromised with 12, and 4 were done so we all waited even longer. when someone asked if he should call for help, the young man said, the managers in the back and unavailable. They blame it on no one wanting a job so they are strapped. well, if you saw the store and lack of support, you wouldn't want to work there either. I'm so tired of Covid being the reason we are all in this boat. I went into this store and since I was planning on gettin a number of things a basket wasn't big enough I couldn't find a cart and asked the checker where I could find one and said they only had two. One was being used be a young mother with her small child, the other as stacked full. of stuff that needed to returned to the shelves What??? The size of the store is pretty average, may even be a little small. It's definitely much smaller than the dollar store in San Clemente, but the quality of some of the items here are better. Sometimes, I find brand name items at this location and sometimes I even get a really good deal on stuff that would cost 4 to 6 times at a grocery store. During week days, it's not as crowded as the one in San Clemente. Went there yesterday morning, on a Saturday, and there was a line to check out. But it went really quickly, about 10 minutes for about 7 people in front of me, with just two cashiers. read more

In San Juan Capistrano Dollar Tree store today about 3 P M I was in line with at least 23 other people. There was only one cashier . Another cashier walked right past everyone while talking on his phone ! I said to the one cashier when I got there that this other employee should not have been nattering on his phone all the while these 23 and more people were all lined up and that this is WRONG. I said that this happens because this is just a dollar store and not Sears ? When I left he was still bla bla blaing on his stupid phone ignoring all the customers who were still in line with others being added. Why don't they hire new employees there instead of making customers line up to over two dozen and ignoring them ? ? :( :( :( read more

Everything is literally a dollar or less. Some really great items here. It's definitely a place you have to visit regularly to spot the great bargains and not just the "cheap" items. However, sometimes the cheap items are all you need to get the job done, especially if you are a DIYer on a budget! This is a great place to buy stocking stuffers, little toys for the kids, basic party supplies, gift bags, and cards. I rated it a 4 star and not a 5 star as the store is generally a little cluttered and sometimes even messy in certain areas but it's not too much of an inconvenience. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Smaller than the Capo Beach location. They have pretty decent quality stuff on most things. The holiday decorations are my absolute fave! They have the balloon service here too. Employees are always nice here, kids, overall good store. read more

Today I went to the Dollar Tree in the Del Obispo Plaza and was really upset and disappointed, especially with the manager on duty! There was a continuous line of 20 people "at least" and one girl checking out. A woman in a wheelchair, pushing a baby in a stroller and trying to manage all of her items in her lap was in line and dropped a pickle jar. I watched from the back of the line as people merely stepped over the mess, not once asking if they could assist this lady or even try to help to get an associate. When I got closer, I picked up the jar and moved it to the counter. I finally got up to check out and asked the girl who worked there if she was the only one on duty. She said there were 2 other people in back but after she called to ask for help they said they were on their break. This included the manager! I couldn't believe the laziness & mismanagement going on. I walked to the back and poked my head into the back room and asked if I could speak with the manager. He told me "he was on a break and by law he couldn't assist me" Now, tell me if that makes sense? We have a handicap women, a baby, broken glass, a line out the door and only 1 out 3 people working. Besides the fact that any good manager should know to stager breaks, so 1 person isn't left alone...what happen to common decency??? read more
