I've been to a lot of TJ Maxx stores but this one is the CLEANEST, MOST ORGANIZED store I have shopped at. I now make this location a MUST every time I'm in Palm Springs on vacation and I ALWAYS find something fabulous. This visit I purchased a gorgeous pair of Franco Sarto Tinsley Woven Mary Jane's ($39.99 here and $120.00 right now at a big box store) and a jumbo size bottle of St. Tropez Self Tanner ($19.99 here and $49.00 at other beauty store)......I will be back very soon!

On October 9, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., I visited the TJ Maxx location in Palm Springs to return a ring I had purchased the previous day at the Palm Desert location. After removing the tag and trying the ring on, I noticed that one of the stones was missing. This was a defect I had not noticed at the time of purchase. I immediately contacted the Palm Springs location to inquire about returning the item. When I arrived, the store manager, whose name I could not identify because her hair was covering her name badge, informed me that I had to return the ring to the original location where it was purchased. Despite having the receipt and all the required tags, she insisted that this was the policy and claimed there was signage at the jewelry counter stating that all jewelry returns must be made at the original location. However, the only signage I observed outlined the standard return policy, including the 30-day return window and the requirement to present the receipt and tags. I did not see any sign stating that jewelry purchased at one TJ Maxx location could not be returned to another. What should have been a simple return involving a defective item turned into an unnecessary discussion lasting approximately five minutes before the manager ultimately processed the return. I found the interaction disappointing and unprofessional. If a specific return restriction exists, customers should be informed of the actual policy clearly and accurately. Referring to signage that a customer cannot locate, particularly when the stated policy appears inconsistent with the information displayed, creates confusion and undermines trust. As a customer, I expect management to handle reasonable concerns professionally, communicate store policies accurately, and make an effort to resolve issues without unnecessary confrontation. I understand that individual store procedures may vary, but that does not excuse a dismissive approach or the failure to provide clear, verifiable information. I am requesting that this interaction be reviewed and that the company clarify its policy regarding cross-location jewelry returns. Customers should not have to argue with a store manager over a return involving a defective product when they have proof of purchase and the required documentation. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used as an opportunity to reinforce customer service standards and ensure that customers are treated with professionalism and respect.

First of all, I am an Interior Designer for over 32 years. For my more "budget" projects, I've been…read moreshopping HomeGoods in various location in Los Angeles for decades. I have always found the staff, friendly and helpful. A year ago, I decided to move to Palm Desert and continued my Residential Interior Design here. I've been to this specific store a few times now. I am not sure what is going on at this location, "Palm Desert CA ", but the staff look extremely unhappy and unfriendly. specifically one gentleman who calls himself the store manager, but he is not. I have seen him picking fights with different clients almost every time I go there. I have tried to strike a friendly note with him, trying to calm him down. At one occasion, out loud, he was telling a client that his position there is what people say to "choose wisely" at the beginning of your career. Once he was staring down at a client to a point where the lady started yelling " Are you staring me down? may I talk to your manager?" and with a great attitude, he responded, "you are talking to him." Long story short, last time I was there I was doing heavy shopping for a 85 year-old woman. Nothing big knickknacks and kitchen items and Home Staples. I was doing a small project for her here at the desert. she has various ailments and I had to be careful choosing the right products for her, which are light enough and easy to operate. Thus, it took me over two hours in the store to do selection of various items for her.. I think that had raised a red flag with the staff. I was treated so poorly there. I had over five workers approaching me and asking " can we help you with something? it seems you've been here for a long time . Every time I would respond, yes I am buying for a client. I need to make the right the selections. it takes time . I do understand store security is important and shrinkage is a problem, but not everybody is a thief. I do believe I am well dressed and I don't like a bum. At the end, yes, the same gentleman approached me aggressively with the same question. I broke out in anger, saying "is there a problem sir? " I'm spending over $800 worth of products here. Nevertheless, I was followed by him until I went to the checkpoint and paid for the products and left the building. Funny enough, he knows me from previous purchases through him, which always has been over five to $600. I tried to make a complaint to their head offices. I got a email saying that my concern has been sent to the store Manager Sylvia "something" and she will get back with me ASAP. This was a month ago and no response. Again, it's a pity. I love this store and most probably I will be shopping at their other locations, but this one definitely has some major staffing and management issues. Needless to say I will not be returning there. Who would like to be treated like this?......

Had two bar height dining chairs on order, and received a notice that they were ready for pickup. Mid day, we walked in, looking around, picking up a few items and figured we'd see an employee on the floor to let them know we were here to pick up our order. No one was around, just a somewhat beleaguered looking fellow running a register that had 'crashed' and he was stuck. Having to go to another register to ring up paying customers. There was another couple trying to make a return, which is when his register crashed on him, so now they are standing around while the cashier was trying to summon for assistance and here we are asking for our order, but (rightfully so) he really couldn't leave the register. The cashier was trying his best to get some help with no luck. So us and the folks (very nice people and far more patient than I!) are getting a bit annoyed. It's been fifteen minutes for us, no idea how long the other couple had been waiting. I went outside and called the store, and a woman answered and said that I and another couple are at the register and need some help. OK was about all she had to say. Another ten minutes pass, now the other couple is calling the store we're standing in and to please come assist us all, customers and cashier alike. Finally along comes "Summer" , clearly unhappy, less than friendly. Saying they were "in a meeting." Seriously? There are cameras everywhere, the cashier had been requesting help over their radios and they were too busy in their #^%* meeting? Are you kidding me? While I give them a generous two stars that's based only on the merchandise and the poor cashier. As for management... minus five stars. "Management" LOL in name only at best.
