For those unfamiliar with their mission, The Mustard Seed is a relatively new (founded in 2016) organization that is primarily dedicated to aiding survivors of childhood abuse. They maintain a wider variety of inventory than most other thrift stores in the area, are exceptionally fair with their pricing and have a delightful sense of atmosphere to boot. In short, it's the kind of organization that deepens your appreciation of Indiana as a whole. The Floyds Knobs store is more spacious than Sellersburg's and has recently undergone some further expansion/renovation. I get the sense that this location has the edge when it comes to clothing, housewares and artwork, while the Sellersburg store is perhaps a bit more robust when it comes to media and toys. At any rate, so long as you follow their posted advice and do not (under any circumstances!!) attempt to donate any fire-breathing dragons, a visit to either Mustard Seed is bound to boost your mood. I was genuinely shocked to be treated with such a total lack of basic respect during a visit a full hour before the store was scheduled to close. The employees were extremely rude, barking orders in a harsh tone regarding the coffee bar, fitting room, and bathroom. When I tried to step outside for just a second, an employee snapped that if I left, I would not be allowed back in--with a full hour remaining before closing. Staff hovered over me constantly, creating an aggressive atmosphere that made it clear paying customers were viewed as an unwanted inconvenience. To treat customers with this level of open hostility is entirely uncalled for and unacceptable. Management needs to address the severe, systemic lack of professionalism at the Floyd's Knobs location. There are basically the same store and price range. They are both about the same size and much larger than the one on Dixie Hwy here in Louisville. I wish our store had as much as these do in Jeffersonville. They are lucky to have these stores I will say that. They have way more than Louisville. Basically everything from A to Z, and are more organized than Louisville store, I don't have anything personal against the only Ben's Bargain in Louisville, I just wish they had as much and were more organized. If I lived closer I'd be in the Jeffersonville one all the time. I could've spent hours in there but time didn't allow. I hope to come back that way someday.

Store is conveniently located on Veterans Parkway near the I-65 interchange in Clarksville and Jeffersonville. Pickup area is alongside the Sam's Club building and has more than a dozen slots. If anyone is huffing and puffing impatiently, it's usually another customer. Thankfully, even that is pretty rare. The samples are another unexpected win! They give my clients a natural opportunity to practice communication skills, and the employees handing them out have always been incredibly patient and friendly. Even when the store is busy and chaotic, no one seems bothered by us taking an extra minute. And can we talk about how CLEAN this store is? Exceptionally clean. Products are stocked, clothes are actually folded, food is where food belongs--it's amazing. Even the Sam's Café, which happens to be a favorite of one of my clients, is consistently clean. The food is fresh, the employees are kind, and we've always had a positive experience. It may just feel like a regular shopping trip to everyone else, but for the people I work with, these outings are opportunities to build independence, communication, and skills they can use in everyday life. I notice their fuel price was 10 cents higher than the nearby Circle K, but still wanted to use fuel points. With being on the road all day my windshield was destroyed and needed a wash. Every single pump station had a bone dry wash, no towels either. I questioned the attendant who was like not my fault and tried to say this was just today. Obvious not true. She had plenty of attitude and offered no help other than go into the store to lodge your complaint. NOPE! I will just write a review with many hours to go to my destination. The pump worked fine, but disappointed at the up charge on fuel. I won't have to worry about ever coming back. 1.5 rounding down. Avoid!

The bigger stores seem to get bogged down and have cancelled my orders, but this location always comes through. Parking can sometimes be a pain when going into the store, but that's mainly due to the other drivers speeding through the parking lot aisles. Most shelves have been fully stocked with whatever I've needed for my weekly pantry items. I've also been able to hurry in and out when I'm in a time crunch to grab a last-minute birthday card and flowers with a great selection. Staff have also always been friendly and helpful, especially the pickup order staff who always ask if I have coupons and are careful with flowers, bread, eggs, etc. Very much appreciated!
