If you are as obsessed as I am with Halloween, or on the hunt for this year's must have TJX/HG…read moredecor, you'll want to scout out this location. It's not the biggest in the Kentuckiana area, but it has the LARGEST Halloween decor variety that I've seen this year and the most well organized. They have grouped themes together very well. And by the way, if you find a spider web fan candelabra, lmk! I've only seen one this year and it was missing a candle cup. This store is also very accessible with ample parking, a ramp, and automatic doors. Not sure if we were there at shift change or what, but it was confusing that there 5 team members at the front for awhile and only 1 of them was ringing up the growing line of customers. When they got a second register open, things definitely started moving again and they were helpful and nice when it was my turn. Like I said, there might be a reason we don't know of, but other customers commented on it to me and I agree it was confusing, hence the 4/5.

The young brunette girl at the front was absolutely rude and down right nasty. She was disrespectful and as someone who has worked customer service for many years I would NEVER talk to a customer yet alone an adult the way she did. She represents your business and wanted to argue with me! Just admit that you were wrong and apologize for any inconvenience but you just HAD to be right. I will NEVER shop at this location ever again.

Returns are immediately to your left upon entering and have been fast and easy for us. They also have a small cafe with seating and a Starbucks in case you need to fuel up before shopping. We left with an Icee today and it made me so happy! Always well stocked and easy to maneuver. Download the Target app and shop at the store with it. I find digital coupons and at times, better pricing that can be matched. Plenty of cashiers and self service kiosks.

Target is Target is Target…read more For the most part Target is copy/paste no matter where you go. That being said, of the 3 that we visit regularly, this has got to be the busiest. Granted, it's in an enormous retail megalopolis so foot traffic is going to make that happen. On a recent Saturday we were in the area doing some other shopping and Target was our destination. To be honest, after having been to 5 or 6 other retail outlets Jim was about wiped out. Into Target we went anyway. My sole complaint about this location is the parking/entry situation. The store is basically on the corner and right by the entrance from the street into what I'm suddenly going to call the Parking Village, so it can be a challenge for both the driver and for pedestrians. Keep your eyes open, people, and stay off your phone when you're driving in this area. For being inside the Christmas shopping season (Let's face it, it starts November 1 any more) the store, while busy, wasn't crowded. After stops at a few departments for some Targeted (see what I did there?) items (Brand New ABBA CD? Yes, please, and thank you!) we decided to browse a bit. I was glad that Christmas wasn't out in full force. It had a presence, but we weren't in full-hype Christmas mode. Thanks for not rushing it. Most of the shelves were well stocked and there was no clutter of pallets in any of the aisles (like some other retail establishments.) Paper products could have been replenished but for the most part things were in great shape. This is one of the few retail places I've been to recently where I didn't have to send out a search party for someone to give me assistance locating something. I looked around a corner and there was a young lady there who knew exactly where the self-sealing stem bolts were located. I'm still on the fence about the updated snack bar/Starbucks arrangement in some Target locations. I mean, it's cool and much more self-sufficient, but at the same time I was pretty used to the way things used to be. But we move forward, not backward. Thanks for tuning in. I appreciate your patronage.

meijer, Meijer, MEIJER…read more I love you, Meijer, but there are times when I despise you. My history with Meijer goes back well over 30 years, having grown up in Michigan.  Before Walmart had 24 hour stores, there was Meijer, who opened 24 hours long before Walmart ever started. And then I worked for Create-A-Card (if you remember them), which had personalized card printing in, literally, every single Meijer location.  At the time I worked for Create-A-Card there were less than 50 stores.  Meijer and I go a LONG way back. So as far as big-box, full-retail stores go, it's always my go-to.   Groceries?  Check Sweat pants? Check Aquarium filters?  Check Windshield solvent?  Check Sharpies?  Check Self-Sealing Stem Bolts? Check ..and the list goes on. The staff at Meijer is usually very helpful (if a bit hard to find), and there's never a team member sitting around doing nothing.  People who work at Meijer usually have a great work ethic and I don't know that I've ever felt like I was bothering anyone when I would ask them where I could find self-sealing stem bolts. Likewise the store is usually pretty clean.  Not like Walmart, where it usually feels like you're walking into a friend's house, but that friend has 6 or 7 kids under the age of 7 and none of them cleans up after themselves or puts their toys away.  They often tend to keep the produce area pretty tidy, which is a challenge because of...produce. This location does a great job of keeping shelves stocked and tidy. They also don't clutter the aisles with pallets very often. I have one complaint.  One, single complaint about Meijer, and that is checking out.   As much as they would rather you use manual checkout, some people (like myself) would rather eschew the impersonal and actually have an interaction with a live human being. I hate and I loathe and I despise self checkout.   It's impersonal. The amount of time between "beep" and "place the item in the bagging area" is just about the shortest measure amount of time In The World. Produce is such a pain in the ass to scan at the self checkout Self checkout talks AT you, not with you. The Absolut worst thing you can try to check out with is alcohol. (see what I did there?) In general, I hate self checkout. As a result, I prefer checking out with a p-e-r-s-o-n, which leads me to my complaint (my self-checkout diatribe wasn't a complaint, it was more of a rant):  Meijer is *terrible* at opening up additional checkout lanes.  I mean, 4 to 6 people waiting in 4 or more checkout lanes, carts 2/3 full or more, and they don't open additional registers.  They'd rather have people wait in line for 15 or more minutes to check out than they would call up additional staff to get people cashed out. This, to me, is Meijer's biggest failure...and it honestly didn't start until self checkout got big.  We used to shop at Meijer every Sunday and would always go to the same cashier because your build up a rapport with them and it makes the process a little nicer than listening to a machine yell at you because it took 2.387 milliseconds too long to put that frozen burrito in the bagging area.

Each pizza is huge, loaded with toppings, and baked just right with that golden, cheesy goodness on top. It's the kind of pizza that can feed a crowd without breaking the bank. What I love most is the convenience. After doing a big Costco run, grabbing a pizza on the way out is the easiest dinner solution. No prep, no dishes, no hassle--just open the box and let everyone dig in. It's always hot, fresh, and hits the spot whether you go with the classic cheese, pepperoni, or combo. It's also a lifesaver for families or anyone hosting. For $10, you get a massive pizza that actually tastes great--definitely not your average "cheap" pizza. The crust has a nice chew, the sauce is flavorful, and they're generous with the toppings. Perfect for dinner after shopping, for parties, or even just when you don't feel like cooking--Costco pizza is a win every time. Delicious, easy, and cheap. What more could you ask for?
