    Original Receipt

Today I went in at around 2/9/25 @ 2:30 to return some items I purchased. I wanted a refund, no exchange, just full refund. I was helped by Yvonne , who couldn't fulfill my need. She asked if I had the Debit card that matches with the receipt & also wanted to see + match cards. I said yes however I used APPLE pay for that transaction so the numbers under debit card don't match. FYI: When you use Apple Pay, it will give you different (random) numbers as your "Debit Card". She asked if I had the actual physical card present with me, which I DID. But again the numbers won't match due to the Contactless method of Payment. She said she couldn't proceed to honor a refund because it's a company policy and that "she wasn't going to lose her job by trying" which is just ridiculous. Customer service ? 0/10. She then told me to come back when her manager comes in tomorrow. What difference does it make if her manager comes in? I have done returns with Apple ID transactions before & at that specific dollar tree too. I kept asking her to try & she kept saying no. I'm not sure why it was so difficult for her to even just try. I told her like 5 times, 'when you use Apple Pay it will give you random numbers" I don't know why she needed me to speak to her manager. It wasn't going to magically change the numbers on my receipt. How do you not know that after working there for so long? After all that, I left so unsatisfied and went to another Dollar tree right after. The one in West Covina on Azusa. A newly hired employee helped me & told me "Let me ask someone to help me, I'm not sure how to do returns". ASKED for the help & all he was told was scan each item & scan the receipt and have her use the same card. I told them I had used Apple Pay. The employee then said "no problem go ahead and tap". Got my full refund back. Mind you, this is a newly hired employee who helped me and figured this out. My point of this review to hopefully have your employees take initiative on their job & to not be afraid to try. You will not get fired for trying, - you get fired for horrible customer service. It was NOT that hard to just scan my items & the SAME receipt & let me use my Apple Pay to get my refund. I had my Apple ID ready, the SAME card I used with me present. And I also had proof of my bank statement with the receipt. That used to be one of my Go to Dollar Trees to go to. I have been coming here for years. I live in West Covina & always choose to go to this location in La Puente. Definitely not satisfied with todays visit. I will show my receipt so you have better context. [ SHORTER RECEIPT] FIRST RECEIPT is the Returned transaction. & read carefully, where it says debit card... there are random numbers & it also says CONTACTLESS. "APPROVED" [LONGER RECEIPT] is the original purchase receipt, & it's only crossed out because the newly hired wanted to make sure he was scanning correctly, which led to him doing that. But also note how on the original receipt it says " DEBIT card" * APPROVED* , purchase: CONTACTLESS !!! * SORRY for long review*

--2020-- Still remains my go-to Dollar Tree store because it's the closest to my house. During this frustrating pandemic, I often in a search of basic food and cleaning supply, and I was able to find some of them here. One time, I went to 4 different stores in search of eggs, and they all ran out. I came here and they sell 1 case with 6 eggs for $1. I ended up buying couple cases. Also, I was able to purchase some of cleaning solutions here, together with floor sweeper for my garage. I got duck tape and packing tape too for some of my garage projects. Somehow, I had an idea to start making DIY wreath, and I'm so thankful I was able to get the supplies here! The end results of my DIY wreath are posted here as well --2018-- I never went to Dollar Tree/ 99 cents store before this year. I went to Party City, Michaels, Walmart, Target for all my kids' party supplies. And from the first day I stepped my foot in Dollar Tree, I fell in love and couldnt believe what a steep price difference that I had been paying all these years. I also feel that Dollar Tree, in general, have a better selection than 99 Cents store. First of, their balloons and basic party supplies have plenty of varieties and good theme selection. Then, the kids' activities, slimes, paints, favors, all are seriously, literally, unbelievably only $1 compare to $3-$5 at Michaels, Walmart or Target. As we all know some store, they advertised everything only 99 cents, $1, or $1.50, but there were "exceptions" that were more than the advertised price. The other best find that I discovered at Dollar Tree was their accessories for Halloween and Christmas, such as blinking Christmas light's necklace that charges $5-$10 elsewhere. It was so affordable and I bought 50 of these necklaces for my kids' class and giveaways! Their selection of wrapping papers are also as good. No return, exchanges only. You need to bring your own bag. Some locations are nicer and have a cleaner restroom than others (like the one in Walnut and Azusa is bigger, cleaner, unlocked restroom, while over here, you have to ask for a key).

Unprofessional and hostile experience at entrance - July 25, 2026…read moreOn July 25, 2026 at approximately 3:34 PM, I visited The Outlet By E.L.S. for the first time with my kids. At the entrance, the security guard shouted at me in a loud, commanding voice asking, "What's in your bag?" I was carrying a regular-sized white tote bag with only my wallet and phone inside. I was startled and did not understand what I had done wrong upon entering, so I offered to leave the bag in my car. The guard then told me I could carry it in, but would have to show it again before leaving the store. His tone was hostile and created an embarrassing situation, as other customers in the store turned to look at us. I felt singled out and profiled as a potential shoplifter, possibly because I was wearing a hat. I was dressed casually in gray pants, a white shirt, and sneakers, which I felt was appropriate for shopping at a discount store. I regularly shop at large retailers like Costco and Sam's Club and have never been questioned about my bag upon entry. When my daughter and her friend spoke to him about the way we were treated, he responded that he was just doing his job and that is just how he is. He said he was sorry I was offended, but reiterated that he was just doing his job. I later spoke with a staff member who did apologize for what happened. I understand and respect the need for security, but there is a professional way to do it without making customers feel accused or unwelcome. A retail business should welcome customers while ensuring safety, not create a hostile shopping environment at the door. I am sharing this feedback so management is aware of how customers are being treated. Based on this experience, I will not be returning.

I don't write many reviews, but people really need to know about the bad business at this place. I…read morefound them on OfferUp while looking for a dual laptop screen extender. I did a research on the actual item that was posted on OfferUp by them. I drove about 40 mins to get to this shop. When I got there a different brand was given to me, so I wasted my time, researching a brand that they didn't have. The item was nothing like the picture and it was not new. There's a seal on the box and the seal was broken so it was definitely not "new" as stated on OfferUp. When I ask the guy in the front if he has the item on OfferUp and on their IG page, he in was like "how old is the post?"It doesn't matter because you should remove it if it's sold. Post says there were 6 available and they didn't even have 1. He was trying to sell an item that is not even the same and it's opened box but kept arguing saying it's new. I'm telling him it's not and there's also a seal that's broken. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a picture of the actual item I saw in the store because I didn't think it was going to escalate this far, but I took a similar picture of how the seal kinda looks like. One of the cords was used and not in the original wrapper. He noticed it was opened and proceed to taped the box. Even my friend laughed because the guy kept saying, "it's new because I tested it!"Then it's not new! It should've said "opened box but new" on OfferUp. However, I still offer a deal since I drove pretty far to get there and gas ain't cheap, also it's a different brand and not new. I was willing to take it for some kind of discount since I'm risking it due to no refund and returns. He could've easily said no he couldn't give me a discount but instead he kept arguing with me and kept saying it's new and that he tested it. Of course I was also upset because it was false advertisement, and I wasted my time driving out there. He then yelled as I was walking out the door, "GET OUT!" Then I proceeded to take a picture of the front of the shop and video to warn others that this place lies so they don't waste their time. He chased to my car to video record me up close (I was a little scared to be honest, but was glad that my friend was there with me) , recorded my friend (who had nothing to do with this) , recorded my license plate and called me a scammer but how am I a scammer when I'm the one buying? I wasn't even returning anything, so how am I a scammer? I mean, make it make sense. The fact that he actually went out to my car shows that he is guilty in what he's doing. I should've checked Yelp before I went there but I was in a hurry, but as you can see there are many bad reviews. I think he even wrote a 5 star review for himself trying to act like a customer because the picture in that profile looks like him. Honestly, save your time and your money, even if it's cheap, to go somewhere else or buy it elsewhere, unless you want to buy used or fake items. I attached a picture of the front of the shop and a video of him coming up close to me at my car and calling me a scammer, even though I wasn't returning anything and I was the buyer! The other pictures are stuff from OfferUp that they posted and did not have.

I finally made my way in here last week, after driving past it often. For starters this is a bin style store where you rummage through tables full of goods. In the last week, I have purchased several Nespresso machines (for myself and family members) from $12-$40 a piece; all of which are in working order and pretty much complete (outside of 1 not coming with the aerocinno: but if I would have opened the box prior to purchasing: I would have realized it: But at $12: no biggie). I didn't pick up a $849 Breville espresso machine (barista pro) and I am still kicking myself for not grabbing it. I bought a bed frame sold on Amazon for $149 at $12 and some vacuums that retailed upwards of $279 from $12-$40 on a random Thursday/Friday. Most items appear to be returns from stores: Still new and in their original box.... Great stuff to be found. The staff is super helpful. The owners are always promoting it on Instagram (and give previews of what is to come: ie Target/Amazon stuff) The store itself can get PACKED, hot and stuffy: But, for the deals: It's a small inconvenience. I really think that the "deals" are AMAZING and I have left "lucky" each time. At the rate this business is going, I am hoping they expand to a bigger space (hopefully in one of the vacant spaces in the same shopping center) 10/10!

I bought a slushy machine that did not work, a toaster that was smashed inside when I opened it at home, a blow dryer that immediately showed an error code, and a Dreo heater that also did not work. Every electronic item I purchased was unusable. I privately messaged the business on Instagram to explain what happened, but I received no response. When I posted pictures showing the damaged and defective items, they immediately blocked me. Even members of my immediate family were blocked, although they had never commented or contacted the business. That made the entire situation even more concerning. The deals may seem too good to be true, but based on my experience, they were. I understand bin-store items may be sold as-is, but customers should know there is a real possibility that the electronics are damaged or completely nonworking. Please inspect and test everything before purchasing. I'm sharing my honest experience so other customers don't lose their money like I did.
