12/16/23 Let's see if these deals are worth it

12/16/23 Not as impressed as I thought I would be....I suppose it depends on what you're looking for and what you're actually going to find. ELS Outlet is a collection of Costco items that have been marked down due to slight damage to the packaging or its an open box item, surplus, etc. The organization is a bit skewed because the aisles are not labeled & inventory on shelvings appear to be in disarray. There doesn't seem to be any particular order to the way their products are displayed. It's not exactly a huge mess but things are a bit cluttered. The bigger ticket items hug the walls: TVs, appliances like microwave ovens, stovetops, lawn mowers, kitchen sinks, fridges, freezers. Clothing take up a huge part of the floor which is in the middle: rows of aisles & clothing also in hangers & racks. We found some counter chairs but the ones we wanted were marked as "sold" already. Of course, most are single pieces without other matching or pairs. If you're a bargain hunter & have a lot of patience sifting through miscellaneous items that aren't necessarily matching-this would be the perfect place for you! Sometimes you get lucky & find exactly what you're looking for-but just know that it could be a one off & you will probably never see that item again. You probably have to visit this place several times to see what's "new"and revel what else they have to offer. For this visit, I found a box of Christmas card collection-$22 for 24, not bad when each card could easily cost between $6-10 EACH!!! Now that's a bargain! These were definitely much better & elaborately design cards by Papyrus. I'm totally happy with this purchase & actually regret not buying a second box.

This place used to be amazing but over the last couple of years it's turned into what everything else has turned into: a money grab. This is the place where damaged goods or overproduced goods from target, Sam's and Costco go to hope for new life in someone's home. But be careful.. just because you're shopping at an outlet doesn't mean you're getting a deal. That same item might still be cheaper at the box store. Returns are finicky here so consider your purchase a final sale. And check the dates on food items because the people who stock the shelves don't. It's really hit or miss here. Come with enough time to look, like thoroughly look but also come with little expectations because you may end up leaving with nothing at all.

Coming to this store makes one feel like being a kid in a candy store. You never know what you are going to find here. This store offers sooo many different products such as home goods, garden products, home, gym equipment, clothing, furniture, school, and on and on and on. All items are priced to sell. Some items have damaged packaging which allows for rock bottom pricing yet the contents are 100% in new condition. This large place is definitely worth the trip no matter where you live

Not much to say, but store is messy, employees are never around to help or answer questions. It's a pass for me.

Prices are much cheaper than the regular box stores if you know what you're looking for . I have found many good deals here.

Today my son and I decided to pile up 2 large bags of our items that we no longer use/need and take…read moreit to this store. We got there around noon and were greeted by 2 of their employees. They gladly accepted our bags that were full of books, toys, shoes, few shirts of mine and few pants of his, few old CDs, and DVDs . By the look of the store, it was nice, big and clean. We didn't purchase anything from here, but there is always a next time. Each item according to section and selection varies. Prices were not that expensive. They looked new and clean, not raggedy and old. Don't know much about parking, since we parked on the street, walked in and out. Everything took less than 20 minutes. There was a small line, but their friendly & helpful employees cleared the line so fast. Will definitely be back if we need to donate more things to this Thrift/Consignment store. It was very well organized. They have vintage items, good selection of jewelry, purses, shoes, scarfs, hats, clothing, belts, and other types of accessories. Give this store a try, and I am pretty sure you will like the variety of stuff that they have. The quality/quantity and their fair prices. Thank you all very much!:-) 1st time, but not the last. We just happened to be in this area earlier today. Was much better than the ones closer to where I live....

Three Decades of Dust, and Possibly a Portal to Another Dimension…read more Walking into this place felt like accidentally stumbling onto the set of The Backrooms: Part 2 -- The Thrifting. I wasn't sure if I had entered a thrift store, a forgotten library, or a government storage facility that hasn't been inspected since 1987. The smell hits you first. Not necessarily a bad smell, just a very specific combination of old library books, vintage clothing, cardboard, dust, and the faint aroma of someone's grandma's house. You know the smell. Every piece of clothing somehow smells exactly the same, regardless of whether it was manufactured in 1972 or 2004. It's almost impressive. Like they all attended the same family reunion and left wearing the same perfume. And the nostalgia? OFF THE CHARTS. There are old books that smell like they've been checked out by Benjamin Franklin, comic books that may actually predate electricity, vinyl records from artists who probably haven't received a royalty check since the Nixon administration, and VHS tapes containing either classic movies, someone's illegally recorded HBO collection, or potentially the last known footage of a family that mysteriously disappeared in 1993. I didn't investigate further. Every aisle feels like an archaeological expedition. You turn a corner and find something you haven't seen in 30 years. Turn another corner and find something you didn't know existed in the first place. Turn one more corner and you start wondering if the exit is still where you left it. I half expected to encounter a flickering fluorescent light, a shopping cart moving on its own, or a former employee who's been trapped in the housewares section since 1998. But here's the thing: This place is actually fantastic. If you love vintage clothing, forgotten treasures, old books, records, comics, inexpensive finds, or random objects just begging to be repurposed, this place is a gold mine. There's something genuinely fun about digging through decades of other people's stuff and finding something that deserves a second life. It's part thrift store, part time machine, part treasure hunt, and possibly part paranormal investigation. The prices make the hunt worthwhile, and unlike most stores today, you genuinely have no idea what you'll discover. Would I come back? Absolutely. Next time I'm bringing a flashlight, a VHS player, and possibly a friend so there's a witness if I disappear into the electronics section. Five stars. Come for the bargains, stay for the nostalgia, and whatever you do, don't follow the mysterious humming noise behind the old furniture.

Still love this thrift store! Great finds…read more Due to COVID, they took the mirrors down to prevent trying on and people being close together. There aren't any signs that say "don't try on" but when I went to put a jacket over my jacket a worker said I couldn't. Obviously, it doesn't make buying thrifting clothes much easier with the no try on rule/no mirrors which made me put down a $35 Guess Jeans Jacket but these are the times for now. Key info: - store capacity limits (may be a line outside, but moves pretty fast) - no mirrors (1 reflective glass by accessories) - no try-ons - discount on certain color tags - name brands commonly found (Guess Jeans, Reformation, Levi's, Gap, Ralph Lauren)

On their website, I scheduled a pickup for books, just books. The website gave a checkbox for books…read moreso I checked the box for "Books". I placed them on the porch, shrink-wrapped in several bundles and waited for pickup. The driver arrived, looked at the stack of books and said, "Just books? We don't take books." He supposedly called his supervisor and the driver said the supervisor would call me --- which he NEVER did. Driver said the supervisor said "no books" and the driver left without picking up my donation of books. I then called their 800 number and the guy on the phone tried to twist the facts by saying the driver didn't pick up the books "because they weren't in boxes or bags." THAT IS NOT WHAT THE ONSITE DRIVER OR HIS SUPERVISOR SAID -- THEY SAID "WE DON'T TAKE BOOKS". Period. No books. THE DRIVER SAID NOTHING ABOUT BAGS/BOXES FOR THE BOOKS. HE SAID WE DON'T TAKE BOOKS. PERIOD!! No, they want the family jewels instead. I will NEVER try to donate to this organization again. Inserting their own narrative about bags/boxes after the fact, twisting the facts, makes them LIARS! Be sure to video your encounter with the driver because they lie. (In fact, come to think of it, I have a Ring video of the encounter.)
