I'm naturally a fan of this location only because I can walk here from my apartment. I do this as a form of exercise. Grab some cash from the ATM and then walk over to the Dollar Tree to play. They have a lot of functional items that I actually can use. What draws me to this place is the old design of the building. Great 70's charm. I've been to a few Dollar Trees in my day, was raised by a single mom and a grandma who survived the Great Depression. They taught me to find value in a good deal. This is one of the better Peninsula dollar trees. They are bigger than San carlos and have longer hours. Very friendly employees that help you find everything you need!! FANTASTIC ASSORTMENT of odds and ends. I buy school supplies here for my classroom. Great selection, clean store, usually fully stocked shelves. Go here! I recently visited the San Carlos store, where the Belmont assistant manager helped out for a day and must say I was pleasantly surprised about how he went all out to help with some pesky online order return and finding other items in the store. These guys must be paid a gazillion to be working so hard for us, or do they? It made me think of the American spirit of always doing our best as it will be rewarded in some way. I love dollar stores and this one inparticular because it's close to home and usually has what I am looking for. The selection is pretty good and they have some nice drinking glasses that are pretty durable. It's great for when you are waiting for your paycheck but are in need of toilet paper or paper towels. It's not the highest quality but it works when money is tight. They also have a good selection of party supplies which is a big plus because planning party can be pricey. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars isbecause the lines are very long. They have enough registers to keep the lines down but they never seem to have more than 2 open at a time. read more

This Dollar Tree was pretty sweet! If you are a Dollar Tree addict, you'll find that they carry more variety of items than other locations. Pros: Large store Well stocked Tons of seasonal items Friendly, helpful workers Cons: SUPER dirty nasty carts Dirty Store Lots of stocking going on while we were there, so there was blocked aisles and messes. Crowded store, too many people in the store I would return to this store, but the San Carlos location is my favorite. It's cleaner and less crowded. Seems like this Dollar Tree gets all the old supplies while the others get stocked with the new products. This Dollar Tree never has ther new arrival items listed on the website while the Dollar Trees in the East Bay have been having them for months already. Every time I come, they're out of whatever I need and no one ever answers the phone when you call. It also seems like there is only one line open whenever I go. Thankfully Virginia always brightens my visit no matter how dissatisfied I am with the inventory of the store. Shes always friendly, helpful and has a positive attitude. read more

Greeting cards are 2/$1 so for those of us that still need an old fashioned paper card v. an e-card, this is your spot. Also, gift bags and such are a score here. I refuse to spend $5 at Hallmark for a bag then another $4 on tissue paper. Here, I spend a fraction. Typical dollar store stuff - lots of junk and low quality things you could live without mixed in with "gotta have it, it's just a buck" stuff like multi-colored rocks and glass vases, hair rubber bands, travel items, ace bandages, toothpaste, flip flops for the gym sauna, etc. Best to come super early before the place gets manhandled. The one super cool guy here makes up for the wildebeest chick on the reg in the a.m's who positively refuses to ever smile or say a simple "thank you" before she drops your change on the counter. read more

I like this dollar tree location because it doesn't FEEL like I'm in a grimey-discount store. It's a smaller store compared to other locations but maybe that's why its cleaner than those other ones too. Also, the inventory changes all the time so you won't get tired of seeing the same old stuff. If you see something you like, you better stock up. It's easy to spend $30 here but youll walk out with an overflowing shopping cart. I've never had a problem here. Parking is a breeze, and I love how I can run into the McDonalds next door and grab a sweet tea for $1. All hail dollar tree! read more

I've been to a couple of Dollar Trees so far, I'm not sure why I never ever thought to visit one before! I'd heard of them but I guess I'm such a recluse that I didn't know there would be one so closeby to me! Entered the store after buying some dog food at next door, and I was impressed with their selection on candy/sweets, cleaning supplies, houseware, and gift supplies. WOW. And everything is for ONE DOLLAR. Like really, one dollar plus tax. I'd been misled at DAISO because not everything is one dollar there, but WOW. It seems to be the only thing I can say. I'm excited to come back to more Dollar Tree stores. This store in particular is very clean, organized, and the staff is super friendly. I'm a regular customer only for special occasion decorations, such as Christmas, thanksgiving, valentine's day, mother's day and so on, and I 'm always pleased to find what I'm looking for and even more. Here you get everything for a $. So dont expect neatness of costlier stores. They are probably trying their best to fix the goods @ 1$. I have been going to this store for usual household stuff since 5 months. Initially I thought I would just give it a try and see how good the returns are. To my surprise, almost all the merchandise I bought from this store was good. I have a success rate of 90%. That means I am satisfied with about 90% of things I have bought from this store. I dont have a perfect 100 for any other stores either. So I consider this shop is value for money and not that all they sell is crap. I guess Little Debbie moved out of big groceries into Dollar Tree, because I found a whole Little Debbie section in this spanking new Dollar Tree. I've never been a big dollar store fan but I ducked in here just out of morbid curiosity. Little Debbie cakes and treats are to be found in the southwest corner of the store, while the rest of the spotless shelves are replete with oddly familiar boxes and packets of goods that look like brand name, but with a few exceptions, aren't. And every single thing is a dollar. I left with a box of non-Brillo soap and steel wool pads. Worth a prowl. Very friendly staff. read more

This is a fav with my son. He can go into the two toy aisles and leave me to my business of picking up brand namish items that I can afford working for the office solutions company that I do. Here I can find dish soap, bath soap, paper towels,air fresheners, glade plug-ins with the night light, paper plates, hand lotion, plungers, scrapbooking supplies, and a cute purse that everyone in the office thinks is "just adorable"; all for the meager price of 'one dollar' ,US, each. I'm very disappointed at this Dollar Tree location and out of all places in Belmont. When you hear Belmont, you think nicer town, upper middle classier neighborhood. The front of this place is flithy the minute you drive in to the parking lot. There's trash everywhere. The store itself is small and organized, I give them that however not very much selection. There are things you can buy from aluminum trays to gift bags to school supplies, party supplies. I love this store! It's the only place that I can go on a shopping spree. Some of my favorite drinking glasses I have purchased from here. Trash bags, paper plates, detergent I use for work towels, pens, birthday cards ($0.50) Tupperware, sandwich bags, sponges, dish gloves, disinfectant wipes in 2 scents, gift bags, tissue and wrapping paper, cool silver platters, margarita glasses, bleach, dish soap, I mean its endless. I once even got a Windex refill. Had I known it would never appear again I would have stocked up. They have good but I don't go that far, gross. But hey if it helps some families with groceries then I'm all for it. Yes the carpet is trashed and there is usually only 1 or 2 cashiers but let's keep in mind that thus us the dollar tree. This Dollar Tree is pretty small, and heck, the aisles are small, and things appear more disorganized because I bet they try to pack a lot of things in one small space. I still like finding the occasional bargain, especially on scrapbook supplies. This little place has its own little parking lot, and I'm usually surprised there are several cars parked outside. There are plenty of stuff I would buy here, but things I usually stay away from are electronics of any kind, food of any kind, except candy (but how often do I eat that??!!), vitamins, even the lotions, and a lot of cheap-made-looking stuff. I like The Dollar Store but NOT THIS ONE. There is a cashier there named ****, who thought it was "funny" to tell me to "smack my kid" when my child was having a difficult day and was a bit fussy. Doesn't matter if you say, "I was just joking honey." - It is extremely unprofessional and lacks consideration and class to say something like that to a stranger who is a customer when you don't even know the situation or know why the child may be acting in a certain way. The manager was no help either when I complained about the matter - she did nothing and did not want to be bothered because she was "eating her lunch". I bought 2 glass bowls but they'd run out of paper so I asked the lady to wrap it in a plastic bag and asked if they could wave the fee as I didn't want them to break and only wanted it wrapped in a plastic bag bcz they'd run out of paper.... managers loses her you know what and goes "No! Just had the worst experience here. Absolute terrible and atrocious customer service. I was waiting in line and the lady at the register helped the person ahead of me then when it got to me, she just walked off. I went into the other lane and they couldn't help me cause the register was held up from waiting for a transaction with balloons. So I walk back over to the original line cause the lady was walking back, taking her absolute sweet time. Another man had gotten in front of me and it was ridiculous the amount of time I was waiting. I tried going back into the other line. I asked if I could leave a dollar (I was getting one item) I was so mad and so mistreated I was tempted to just walk out with it. Finally the 2nd register said she would take me. I tried to keep my cool but they made it pretty impossible. They were basically rude and laughing at me.
