While walking around Downtown Burlingame, I passed by this stationary store. Turns out it's the sister of Barnes & Noble, which has a location a few minutes away. Even though it's called Paper Source, it has a variety of non-paper products, such as bags, buttons, games, kits, and magnets. They also offer wrapping services starting at $8.00. There were a lot of cute items that caught my eye, and it was hard to resist! I ended up buying the I Like Coffee Stickers ($3.49) and I Like Bread Stickers ($3.49). Side notes: 1.) I would not have passed by this store and not gone in, but the sign outside prompting us to come in to make an origami butterfly was the clincher for my friend. So many funny cards and books. I bought a kit to make six paper succulents, and Easter gifts for the grand kids. We needed help making the butterflies as the do it yourself video you scan with your phone was too fast for us. The worker that helped me was so kind and patient -I am origami challenged, but I did walk away with a super cute butterfly! read more

Five-star treatment all around from Joni and Brooke on 11/4/19. I rushed in after making a birthday purchase for my husband at Topper. I piddled around the store looking for a gift bag, and I initially was a bit overwhelmed because a) time crunch, b) there were so many options, and c) I couldn't find a sales associate. As soon as I was about to give up, Brooke appeared from the back and made a beeline for me. She asked if she could assist, and I said, "YES." I explained that I was terrible at wrapping, and if Papersource offered gift wrap, and if not, could she help me find an a-okay gift bag. Brooke told me that Papersource absolutely gift wrapped. She assisted me with getting two sheets of paper, and then she said that Joni would do the wrapping. While Joni wrapped, I shopped for a card and browsed the store. Joni did a great job with the wrapping and the massive ornate bow. I loved it! The wrapping took about 10-12 minutes or so. If you opt for gift wrapping you have to buy the products in-store. You can't bring your own. The cost was $8 for gift wrapping and the ribbon/bow was an additional charge (I think $20). I found it to be expensive, but I was desperate! My coworker and I were walking around Downtown Burlingame trying to decide on where to have dinner and came upon Paper Source. This is a cards and stationary store with very cute and interesting knick knacks. They even have a wall of puns greeting cards. It was nice to walk around and get a laugh from reading all the puns and seeing the different goods in the stores but didn't end up purchasing anything. The store has bright and wonderful lighting. There are lots of items everywhere you turn your gaze. If you're looking for something unique, this store might have it! But then again... there may be a bit of a price tag that comes along with it. read more

This is a really cool store they had all kinds of things you can interact with read as you can see the photos I took. they have a lot of cool stamps art stuff they had this cute little clay dough cake thing that you can make which I took pictures of and the kiddo made the little cake which was really cute. Customer service was really nice yes they have a bathroom because I asked if they had one so the customers can use it if you need to, so come by and check out the store it's really cute have a seating area where you can sit down and look at all the stuff and see what you want and I'm sure you'll find something in there that you would enjoy. read more

I absolutely love this store and the products they sell. I drive all the way to Burlingame to shop specifically at this store. I needed part supplies, decorations, and gift wrapping supplies. I was so disappointed today when I arrived a few minutes after 12 and there is a hand written sign that the store is closed from 12-1:30pm for lunch. This seems odd. I don't know any businesses or profession where 90 minute lunches are taken, let alone retail. I would have waited 30 minutes, but who has time to wait 90 minutes! While other retail businesses are suffering or closing during COVID, Paper Source must be doing extremely well in order to close completely for 90 minutes in the middle of the day. read more

Huge Paper Source store in downtown Burlingame. My friend and I spent at least an hour there browsing the latest trends in wrapping papers and stationery in general. All so pretty and good quality. If you love paper for the sake of its texture, color...even smell, this is your store. You won't be disappointed, as there is something for everyone and for the OCDs, all is well organized by colors. I ordered my daughter's wedding invitations from another Paper Source store. It was a total disaster. Brooke, the manager at the Burlingame shop stepped in and was able to assist us in getting our invitations quickly. Brooke even took time out of her vacation to make phone calls to the printer to expedite the process. She worked with the other Paper Source to correct their many missteps. She went out of her way to help us ( my fiancé, my mother in law and my mom) pick out the colors and style to match the theme of the wedding . She stayed within our price point and didn't pressure us at all. She gave us wonderful advice. I couldn't decide between colors, so she made me a prototype of what each envelope would look like. Unfortunately have to agree with the lack of acknowledgment /customer service here. I went in during teachers week to look for some cute things i had seen online. As i walked in no one said hello or welcome, i did unfortunately notice they welcomed women that were in suits or heels or looked like they obviously lived in the neighborhood. At first i thought ok maybe I'm crazy and continued shopping. Picked up a couple of things and noticed workers asking the other women in there if they needed help etc. oh well it is what it is. I purchased a couple of things and i had my own bag which i placed on the counter, after she gave me my receipt she walked away. My stuff all laid out on the counter, alrighty. I placed my $75 worth of items in my bag and left. I called a couple of other paper source locations trying to locate a specific teacher item and ended up at the one in SF in the marina and had a great experience there. Although i live closer to the Burlingame location i will instead go the ones in the city. read more

So I went into this business with the intent to purchase a couple of sheets of special paper for some baby shower posters. Once inside the store I found exactly what I was looking for but sadly was denied service ! Their is an older skinny woman there about 60 years old and let me tell you her customer service skills were extremely poor. I asked her politely if she could sell me 2-3 sheets of the paper and she made an ugly face at me and said No, we only sell by the package I told her ok I understand but I have gone to other paper supply stores and they sell single sheets she began to question me saying "where" "what company" and then proceeded to tell me to go elsewhere! Why is this woman so rude and nasty to customers she should not be working on the avenue with such a poor attitude I will not return to this location and will warn others about this rude, disrespectful old lady! read more

Beautiful store, with a wide range items and decent selection of paper. However I thought the girl working the store was quite rude. Not really rude, but she let two people that looked like "Burlingame people" totally cut me in line. Then when I asked her for help, getting paper from a high shelf after she offered, she then proceeded to help others in the store who once again looked well off and also older then me. Wow. Talk about incredible service. I don't usually write reviews, but feel compelled to about this visit. From the moment I walked in, I had a friendly, productive, and wonderful experience because of the wonderful staff who functions like a well-oiled machine that is exceptionally friendly. I was in the area to pick up an Apple TV and wanted to get it wrapped. I walk in, not knowing what to expect and am immediately greeted by Chen who helps me think through what I want (wrapping paper for a nerdy male). I was then served by Jose who is probably one of the most personable store clerks I have ever met - he just understood me. He immediately took care of my purchase and listened to special requests i had about how to wrap the gift (i didn't want the paper to rip or to be cut so asked if they could wrap it with minimal tape and without cutting it). Carlos then took over from here and wrapped the gift exactly according to my request and only using two pieces of tape. I've done my fair share of wrapping and I was blown away. You could tell he really loved doing it and the end product showed. Being around Jose and Carlos made me want to see what else Paper Source had so I stuck around and got a planner. Of course, while I was waiting i asked Jose if he knew of a notary public in the area. While I am waiting for Carlos to put the final touches on the gift, I'm approached by Victoria who gives me a post it with the address of the nearest notary public. Needless to say, I left Paper Source with a beautifully wrapped gift and planner, an address for the closest notary public and feeling like I just met 4 incredible people. This review is for a workshop I did on book binding and not the store itself. I paid about $30 for the workshop. The lady who taught the workshop was really sweet but unacceptably unprepared. She had no instructions for us to follow. After asking several times for instruction we were printed instruction at the end of the workshop. She kept making mistakes which ended up messing our measurements which resulted in a untidy and short cover for the book. We were suppose to learn to bind two books, one big and one small. The big book took almost all the time of the workshop which left us with 15mins for the small book. We were rushed through the whole process for the small book and the lady repeated all the mistakes she made while she taught us binding the big book. All in all, a horrible experience :( read more

I've been to many Paper-source locations. This is the best one! Everyone is so friendly and so very helpful. Jose is my personal favorite. I asked him a simple question and he started to draw me a sketch of how my dessert table should look like bc I had no clue. He helped with customizing goodie bags, banners, and how to use the envelope inserts. I didn't even know about embossing. I feel like an expert now. Jose is very knowledgeable and makes people feel very welcome. My sister and I love coming just to simply say Hi lol. This guy knows it all. Just ask for Jose and he will help you out!! read more

Wonderful selection of premade cards and card making supplies for those of us that make our own cards. There are plenty of samples of custom made cards and crafts that will inspire the crafty person to go home and craft. The pricing is generally higher than Michael's but the quality of the paper is generally better at Paper Source. The reason for the 3 stars is that there was a snobby employee. I know it's Burlingame avenue and all the shops tend to be on the trendy side but there's no need to be a snob. read more
