Very rude skinny older lady that works the register was very unpleasant last Sunday. Had a huge attitude towards me. I needed some balloons for my daughters bday that were already blown up and I didn't want to bring them in line since I already I had a bunch of items (there would be no room for me to be in line with them since I needed about 9. Right when I was about to check out I told her nicely I also wanted 9 balloons. And she said rudely "you're going to have to wait." And I replied nicely "no, I want the ones already blown up." And she looked at me and said "well go get them" and I asked "oh, I can't just grab them after you ring everything up?" This store is just a basic dollar tree, it's nothing different from what you'd expect. But I was made very uncomfortable by an older female employee with curly blonde hair. She was rather rude with another Asian customer, she got VERY easily frustrated and it was very unprofessional. I am asian as well but I didn't receive as much backlash because my English is perfect. I don't understand why a language barrier makes some people so upset and frustrated, the other lady spoke English just fine she just needed some help with balloons and was confused. Two words: Pregnancy Test. They have pregnancy tests at the checkout where they keep their gum and lighters. This is just too awesome. First, why would you choose to buy a pregnancy test at Dollar Tree? You can probably pee on a popsicle stick and it'll be just as accurate. Second, what's up with the placement of the test in the store? at the checkout, really? As if you were standing in line mindlessly looking at the assortment of gum, mints, etc, and then "omg! That's right I might be pregnant, lemme just go ahead and grab this test." WTF. If you so chose to get that test and it was positive, in a few years, you can bring your kid here to shop b/c I've seen parents who let their children pick out a few items here thus making the child feel empowered without spending too much. I think that's a pretty neat idea b/c they have tons of little knick knacks and toys. Pet toys are a good deal too. If you need to pick up something quick and are not in the mood to deal with the bigger stores such as "Wally World," this is the store for you. They have balloons if you need them for birthdays and special occasions. They have kitchen knick knacks, cleaning supplies (though some of the name brands seem to be sold in a smaller container variety) and there is a section of birthday cards. Toys and books are also sold here. There is a snack and soda isle as well if that is your kind of thing. They sale paper plates, cups and napkins. I even notice that this one now sales frozen food items in the back. There are some office supplies and beauty products, soaps, detergents, lotions. And the best part is that everything is only a dollar! I like to come here first during the holiday season to buy decorations for my home and office for a fraction of the price that I would pay somewhere else. You can sometimes find nice small gifts to put on shelves, etc here. I like this store. I find it to be clean when I visit, which is not always the case when I have visited others. Not much clutter in the isle or items out of place. It's nice and neat and I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I visit here weekly and will continue to do so. What's not to love about Dollar Tree? Usually, when I need my staples and weekly provisions, that's the first place I head to. I furnished my apartment with plates, glasses, bowls, stainless steel flatware, coffee mugs, etc. And I always get my boys some dog treats here. You can't beat it! Not to mention the off-brand Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereals, soups, cookies, and all the wonderful pastas and sauces. I've bought books, envelopes. It's been a while since I smoked weed, but if I did, and I know I'll be tested, I can get the test right there for a buck! Think you're pregnant? Pregnancy tests, right there amongst the other impulse buys at the front register--and guess how much? That's right--only a buck! I stopped buying expensive sunglasses 20 years ago after losing $159 Serengetis. I then shifted to the $10 Wal-Marts or Targets. One of the things I love about the Dollar Tree is that they sell everything for $1. Which makes keeping track of your spending very easy. The items tend to be of decent quality because they're usually items that would be near the $1-5 dollar value in other stores. So you don't end up buying stuff that's been made much more cheaply than it should be. It's a great place to take a kid and give them $5 to spend. read more

I'm not the kind to write poor reviews, in fact it's quite the contrary. However today I need to share about the experience I had at the dollar tree on 183. Although you can't beat the prices, the customer service from one particular attendant, Laura, was absolutely atrocious. As we approached the check out lines, there was one aisle available with a light on above the register, indicating it was open. We waited for several minutes, assuming that an attendant was somewhere in the store soon to return. Another customer noticed us waiting and asked her attendant, Laura, if we were going to be assisted. Attendant Laura remarked, "They need to move their stuff and come get checked out over here." The customer responded, "but the light is on!". Laura remarked back snidely "they can stand there all day if they want to but nobody is coming". I interjected "excuse me but I don't think that is a very kind thing to say." She replied, "yeah I get it, I'm sorry, I can move your stuff for you if you wait there" She then proceeded to try and take our basket away as we were loading items back from the scanning area and into our basket. I stated kindly and firmly, "no thank you, I would appreciate help from somebody else". She rolled her eyes and stepped away. The sweet girl who helped us, Jasmine, did a wonderful job handling the ruffled situation and was very kind and professional. As a member of the lgbt community it's always a concern of persecution, and I sure hope Laura was just having an off day and evaluates her unkind actions. read more

A solid reliable place that has some of what you need. I like the Parmer location better because they stock that automatic dishwashing liquid, which works better than anything else in my dishwasher, but this store doesn't. You won't be spending too much here, because everything is a dollar, so that reassures me when my funds are low. Dollar Tree serves a much needed purpose in America. read more

I visited this store with my son and his friend today 6/7/2017. My son and his friend went in maybe 30 seconds before me..when I walked in I heard the manager talking rudely to my son's friend I continued to look for what I needed as other than the garbage customer service I love the store. I gave my son the card and told him to go to the counter and I would be on and before I could make it to him I hear the associate yelling at him saying, " you've got 10 minutes to get what you need and get out."I came around the isle and asked why was she rushing my son and he was in the store with me...she tells me he was being rude with her manager and I'm l told her she was lying because I walked in 30 seconds after him....she said he had been in the store earlier...I told her that was a lie because he went to school and from there straight to work and had just recently got off..I felt so upset..like I was watching a movie that I would never want to be in..I began to raise my voice and told her she will not racially profile my son as he had done nothing wrong...and mind you she didn't say nothing to anyone else in the store or make a store announcement like the store is closing..only targeting my son and his friend..so the associate says, ohhh so you're trying to pull the race card...I say I'm just calling it what you're showing me..while all of this is happening there is this nice Caucasian lady in front of me and she speaks out to say why didn't you tell me I had 10 minutes I wasn't in line either so it is racial profiling young black men and I feel in comfortable..needless to say I am so discombobulated about the whole situation as I come from a multi cultural background and I always try to weed out racism as a not at all result....I called the store back around 9:30 pm and I advised her of who I was and she stated she was the manager..I asked her if I could have the corporate number to file a complaint in a calm tone..she began to yell and me and told me my son could not come back in the store because the day before he used the word B....h while checking out and he is disrespectful and then she goes on to say is that how you raised your son what is he going to be and he's not allowed back in this f..King store ..if he can curse at me ..I can curse at you...and she proceeded to say it again (curse)..I advised her as a manager she should no better and I would not speak to her as she was speaking to me and just provide me with the complaint number..she stated that they do not have one..I asked her was she refusing to give me the number as every store has this..she eventually gave me a number 9725968687 and hung up in my face...I called the number and it was a fax number..I will be doing research until I contact corporate and report her because this is unacceptable..my work background is customer service..I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone..just goes to show the people of this world still have a ways to go...my first bad experience since I've moved to Austin..praying for better days... read more

I have now, more than once, had the experience at this Dollar Tree of showing up 15 to 20 minutes before their POSTED closing time of 9PM, to grab a loaf of bread or a jar of preserves, only to find the doors already locked, and staff ignoring those of us standing at the door wondering what is going on. Tonight, around 8:40 PM, as I was coming across the parking lot I could see 5 women standing at the front door and tapping the window trying to get someone's attention, and being utterly ignored. When I came up to them, sure enough, they confirmed the doors were already locked. One young woman said her experience was they seemed to lock the doors about a 1/2 HOUR before their posted closing time. The reason I had to come back tonight was because when I'd been in at around 11:30 this morning, there had been great swathes of empty, unstocked shelves, which actually is ALSO a regular occurrence at this store, at ANY time during business hours. I appreciate the discount prices on good products at Dollar Tree, but I don't think that should mean I also have to settle for cut-rate retail professionalism and cut-rate customer service. read more
