SPRING IS ON THE WAY, TIME TO SPRUCE THINGS UP!…read more It is that time of year again when we start looking to freshen up our personal space. Sometimes you just get bored and need a new look or you want to re-purpose a particular room or space. When it comes to home décor and simple accents, Ross is one of my favorite stores to visit because it has a cool and creative vibe. You just never know what you might find. Before I head out to the store, I "shop the house". This is where I go around to every room including the attic and various closets to borrow and steal key pieces. For example, those black wooden enclosed shelves that were once mounted on the wall in my children's room are now being used as a standing shelf instead of the typical night stands. Since they are three feet tall, they have great visual impact and are able to hold a variety of items. They also maximize space with their space-saving design. When visiting Ross, I was interested in a set of colorful cotton sheets, baskets and other accent pieces. I didn't find the sheets, but they did have some great baskets. These baskets are made in Vietnam and are a heavier texture and weave than some of the traditional baskets. They also offer oval and rectangular shapes instead of typical square designs. I purchased several of these because I knew that they would look great with my existing decor. I was right as they are a perfect fit. Score!! Next, I saw these two identical, hideously painted, (mint green) small tables with three shelves. Despite their color, they caught my attention because they were identical, (I love symmetrical design), they had three shelves which would provide greater function, and they had protective covers on all four corners. The corner covers indicate to me that care was taken during the shipping process to make sure that any possible damage would be avoided. I also liked that they were an open design that would provide less visual clutter and greater access than a dresser or cabinet. I knew that they could be painted so I purchased them. If I am unsure of something, I purchase it anyway knowing that I can always return it if there is a problem. I would rather return something than have regrets about not purchasing it. Also, I know that I have thirty days to make a return so there is no rush. In addition to these two tables, I notice that Ross has other some other cute accent tables that are great as sofa tables or to just add a bit of spice to your existing décor. These tables are between $129 and $160, my tables were $60 each and the baskets start at $4 and up depending on size. At the Johns Creek location, I purchased a large basket that was about two feet high so it was nice and deep and the perfect vessel to hold my over-flow paper products purchased in bulk. This basket was available at the Kennesaw location as well. Overall, I found this store to be very clean and organized. It is well stocked with spring colors and great home décor items which are going fast! Checking out was quick and easy as they had two registers open and traffic flowed nicely. This is definitely a nice store and certainly recommended for all of your home décor needs!

During the transaction, the website generated a random email to send the confirmation which I could not change. Since my time zone is 3 hours away I call again the next day and was told I already had the email. I don't think it's fair that you can only get your bday coupon on your birthday it should be the whole month like other places. Some people can't make it out on their birthday! The sales associate wasn't that friendly today and that's not the first time a sales associate treated me this way. I tried to disregard it because it's not that many places to shop anymore. I still think I'll take my business elsewhere. The manager even thanked me for shopping with them and spending a lot. It's said that they have people working in there. Their prices are too high to get that level of treatment they give. So today I didn't spend that much because I didn't spend that much because I dint like the way I was treated. The sales associates working there need a little bit more training on how to deal with all kinds of customers. This is the west Cobb avenue location.

Popped up to Acworth recently on the search for some nice dress pants for an event and of course…read moreKohl's is on the short list of places to swing through. This Kohl's is off to it's self and sits directly on Cobb Parkway. Parking is not an issue, as this Kohl's has this ginormous lot all to itself! So, if you don't find a parking spot, you didn't try at all. Like most Kohl's the store was well kept, organized and clean. Condition wise you could see the age of the store on the flooring, ceiling and in the dressing room, but it was just your normal wear and tear of a retail spot. Speaking of dressing rooms, that is the only place that was a little off, as it was piled with clothes that had not been ran back to the racks. Not sure if they hit it once a day, but if so...that makes for a long night for whoever gets that duty! I have noticed that Kohl's has dropped stock in Men's formal wear as they majority of the items available are flat colors and separates instead of patterned and sets. The sets don't bother me, but I did want a little pop in my slacks or jacket, but sadly could not find it at this location. Overall, I am a Kohl's fan and even have the credit card to prove it. I do not frequent this part of town, but when in need or in the area, this Kohl's is a solid spot to shop.

Stayed at the Hampton Inn in Kennesaw which is close to Town Centre Mall where we go each year (except last year because of Covid) for the Grandkids to meet Santa. My wife says she always forgets to pack something and when we got up the next morning (Black Friday) we discovered she forgot to pack my underwear or at the briefs. Time for a quick run to the store and when I asked her where she wanted to go, she said Kohl's since that is where the rest of my underwear came from. Quick search on Google and we found this store which was only about 5 miles away and also about 2 miles from Truist (formerly BB&T) which we also wanted to hit. Found it easily. Store was busy but not packed but for Black Friday, they had been open since 5am. Good selection and with six registers open, shopping was a breeze. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Not sure if they if they are like this the rest of the year but they sure made a great impression of one of the most hectic shopping days of the year. Very well organized and staffed.
