I live nearby and Kroger Butler Creek has steadily gone downhill. The store looks like a relic from the 1980s. It badly needs extensive renovation. The store looks dirty, clutter everywhere and dim lighting. I used to go there regularly but now avoid this location. Corporate kroger clearly doesn't care about this location. If you go to Kroger, i suggest the Mars Hill Kroger. They should either renovate butler creek or close it. read more

I am a fan of Kroger and tonight I stop by here to grab some water for my hotel room. I'm a fan of Kroger's blood orange flavored water. So, I decided to head over here and get the water here. This Kroger is in the Butler Creek shopping plaza. It is an attractive store and well sized. Kroger has good deals and I have never had an issue in any Kroger. The staff here was friendly and I was pretty much in and out. All in all, I will give this particular Kroger five stars and I woukd definitely recommend it. read more

I shop here often. I usually don't buy many items though. I mainly come for their prices on beer. They usually have a couple of brands in 30 packs for $20.99. You have to use your Kroger Club Card to get that price though. They have a decent beer selection. Your standards like Budweiser, Coors and Pabst Blue Ribbon. Some imports and a decent selection from local breweries. They stock a good bit of wine at ok prices. Lately, I found some Corn Tortilla Chips in the bakery section. Wow, they are good! They taste like fresh restaurant chips. Not overly salty either. I like the staff here. I've been coming for a while now and we seem to know each other. They are pleasant, friendly and efficient. They make shopping here a more enjoyable experience. read more

Someone needs to figure out their checkout issues. I just finished shopping (ended up leaving my cart and walking out). There was one register manned by an employee. There was 8-10 customers in a line for this lane. Then the self checkout had 16+ customers forming a line all the way down to the back of the store. First off, very few people like self checkout for larger orders but if you're gonna do self checkout (to save money and make customers do the work) then you have to commit and have more than a few lanes for this. read more

Don't go to this Kroger unless you'd like to be a Kroger employee for the day. Shelves are constantly half empty so you're searching around trying to find what you need and then to top it all off, once you get to check out....NO CASHIERS. So not only are you walking alllll over the store, but once you finally get a full cart and you're ready to check out, you have to check yourself out and spend who knows how long waiting for the self check out to work properly and it's just completely frustrating when again I do not work at Kroger.... read more

Only one register open with a cashier, and the line was backed up down the aisle across from the cashiers lane. I went to self checkout, and it was one with the conveyor belt. I had a cart full of groceries. After I was done ringing up and paid I had to bag my own groceries, which isn't a problem except someone came up behind me and started scanning their groceries and their groceries ran down the conveyor into mine. I was trying to hurry, but I was having a hard time getting my groceries bagged to get out of the way. The Kroger employee was standing right there with his hands in his pockets, watching and didn't even so much as offer to help. Scanning should be disabled until the belt is cleared before the next person can start ringing up. From now on, if I can't go to a cashier, then there's nothing I need that bad. This Kroger has gone to hell under new management. The store is filthy, never enough cashiers working, self check out lines are long and the produce is always gross. I have consistently had the worst possible experiences with the Butler Creek Kroger Pharmacy for a number of years. Like everyone else, I was patient during Covid, understanding the difficulty; now, there is simply no excuse. I have previously transferred every refillable medication to another pharmacy because of these constant issues. I hoped to give this pharmacy one last chance today. After leaving Wellstar Urgent Care center at 4:00pm, I called this pharmacy to ask if they could have my prescription filled so that I could pick it up on my way home, instead of waiting the normal 3-6 hour wait time. I went through the outgoing message system and chose to "Speak with a Pharmacist". Someone picked up the phone (voices could be heard in the background) and I was put on hold without being asked. I was on hold for 16 minutes, listening to scratchy Michael Jackson songs. I hung up, called back, went through the prompts again, and was immediately put on hold, again. 17 minutes later, a young gentleman from the Customer Help Desk answered. I explained that I was waiting for the pharmacist and was put back on hold for another few minutes before finally being answered. I explained my request and was told that my prescription would not be ready for at least 24 hours. I asked why the wait would be so long and was told that the line to be served was "out the door". Knowing the speed by which this pharmacy operates, that sounded accurate. I explained that I needed the medication this evening, to which the woman responded by telling me that I could have another pharmacy call and request that it be transferred. I asked how the pharmacy could get through a 30-minute hold time and she told me to call the 800 Kroger number to complain about the phone not being answered and that there was nothing she could do. By this time, I was within a mile of the Kroger, so stopped in to see if I could be better served in person. I walked through the door to find two (2) people at the pharmacy line; two people does not constitute a 'line out the door'. There were four people behind the counter. I asked to speak with the store manager and was introduced to 'Chitwood'. I explained the situation to her and she responded that she could not go behind the counter to prepare my medications. I explained that that was not what I was asking her to do, but to merely acknowledge the situation, to which she responded that she would have to speak with the pharmacy manager, who would not be in until tomorrow. I don't know if the pharmacy team is understaffed or just incompetent, but there was no reason to keep me on hold for over 30 minutes nor lie to me about the reason for the ineptitude. Waiting 24 hours for a prescription to be filled is ludicrous. I do know that, as this is par for every experience I have had in the last couple of years, I will never return to that pharmacy again. read more

I have to say. I love the gluten free and vegetarian section! And the fact that it's growing! This store is adjusting with the times! And I love that they are friendly to every diet restriction! I've officially dumped Whole Foods! Only thing I wish was their organic section was a little larger but this store has been a blessing! read more

This Kroger is so-so. Some good stuff, some bad. The good stuff is that prices aren't too high, and they're usually pretty good about having things in stock. Some of the workers are downright friendly and will do just about anything for you. Not all, though. The store gets crammed, especially around the deli; it's not exactly a model of feng shui, with lots of tables of stuff and not much room between them. It's a clean enough store, though not immaculate. The gas station is almost always backed up unless you go quite early in the morning and later at night. You're as likely to find the windshield washer fluid empty as full. I go here when I have good coupons, or when it's the closest grocery store to me when in need. But nothing worth traveling out of your way to. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews on this store. I've been shopping here for 20 years. 9 times out of 10 they have what I need and MUCH cheaper than Publix. Sure Publix gives out a lot of mainstream medications for free but that's because they charge so much for other items. Really not for free folks. I find the store to be clean and well organized. Just wish they hadn't taken away the nut and grain self serve. Yes it's there but moved. Now a lot of things are prepackaged in bulk. What I want is usually out and I don't need a pound of my item. Oh, Kroger. You're so cute with your new updates; wider aisles, new organic section, sugar free selections and false attempts to look like Whole Foods. Just when I think my spinach salad mix won't go bad just as I walk out to the parking lot you prove me wrong. Check the dates on ALL food items you purchase at this location. You'll be lucky if your produce items make it 24 hours even if you wash and store them properly. When they were updating their meat section half their coolers were room temperature and the milk section doors were constantly left open. The same can be said of the freezer items, stuff is just thrown in and wrong prices are listed everywhere. DO NOT park near any cart corrals!! I parked 5 spots back from the cart yet a random cart hit my parked car. I now have a 2" scratch (down to the frame) because some asshole decided to leave his cart just outside of the cart area. The new store layout makes zero sense and the pharmacy here has turned into a part time business from hell-the absolute worst call-in/automated phone system on this planet. Twice in the last month, I've observed dogs in the produce section that are clearly not service animals - one in a stroller and one sleeping on the owners shoulder. I complained twice to the service desk, and they refused to do anything, stating they aren't allowed to question the customer. This is not true and a violation of federal FDA food safety standards. "The Food and Drug Administration's Food Guide lays down the law: with few exceptions, live animals of any kind are not permitted on the premises of a grocery store, a restaurant or other food establishment." When in question, employees are required to ask if the animal is a service animal, and what service it performs. If it is not a valid service, the animal is not permitted in the store, period. Emotional support animals are not valid service animals. I will never step foot in this store again, and I am filing a complaint with the county health department. If they're that ignorant regarding Federal food safety standards, what other blatant violations are occurring at the store? For the record, I own 2 dogs but have enough common sense and courtesy to others to leave them at home when grocery shopping. read more

I have since moved to the other side the of Acworth and continue coming to this pharmacy. First off, I receive a call less than 24 hours before I am supposed to pick up my daughters special ordered birthday cake saying that they don't have the stuff to make my cake. I have less than a day until the party and cannot place an order with anyone else due to such short notice! I had already revolved the party supplies around the characters on the cake and was not taking no for an answer. They call me back saying they found a Kroger with the cake toppers and said my cake would be ready the next morning. On my way to the party, I pick up the cake and i couldn't have been more let down. It looked horrible. Icing was missing, my dolls were sloppily placed and falling over, the colors were out of lines and mixed together, the cake was showing on the sides and the heart looked as if an 8 year old had drawn it! I could have done a better job myself yet I still had to pay $45 for the cake. I am calling corporate and sending pictures of the cake in since the manager was of no help. Highly disappointed. Watch this kroger for sucker charging you. It happens way too often to me. The sale price doesn't ring up correct ar the register. They used to give you the item for free up to $5 when they screwed up so it was ok. Now the just refund the difference "if" you catch them. Too much of a pain to review your reciept and spend 10 minutes at customer service to correct. I cant trust them so I will not shop there anymore read more

I love this Kroger. The manager is ALWAYS out and about working and interacting with customers. I rarely see managers out of their office in grocery stores so this says a lot. The staff is super friendly, from the meat department, who always give great recommendations to the check stand crew who always offer to help me out to my car. I always see the same faces which tells me the management has to be pretty good to keep a smiling staff. There could still be some physical upgrades but it is a well kept, clean store and I will continue to give them my business. Good work Kroger! read more

We have shopped at this store for 25 years and have always considered it our store. However, over the last 9 months we have become very frustrated. They are always out of produce but they always have an excuse. However, we can go to another Kroger or Publix and find everything that we need. Specifically the Brookstone stores out perform my store everyday. So disappointing. I am now driving past the Acworth store to save time...makes no sense. Get it together guys. Above and beyond. Jessica at Customer Service and Ashley at Self Check Out, and a Meat Department employee who was already off for the day. All of these people went out of their way to help me when I broke my car key off in the ignition. Each and all deserve special commendation. The lady already off work took me to the front where Ashley put my frozen items in the ice cooler. Jessica, at Customer Service, charged my phone for me using a charger there. All worked out well in the end. It was their goodwill, humanity which supported me. This was particularly helpful and appreciated as there were other things, things of a deeply sad nature going on in the life of our family that day. read more
