Since I now work in Arlington, I visit both this Marshalls and the nearby TJ Maxx pretty often, and I've consistently had better luck here. I've come across some really great finds at this Marshalls, from wardrobe staples to little unexpected gems. On the flip side, I rarely find much worth grabbing at the TJ Maxx in this area, which always surprises me given how much I typically love that store. Selection & Finds: This location always seems to have a solid selection, and the inventory feels more thoughtfully stocked compared to the TJ Maxx nearby. I've walked out with some really good finds here on multiple occasions, which keeps me coming back. I do wish they carried more workout gear, especially things like weight lifting gloves, since that's one category where the selection feels a bit limited. Store Experience: One thing that really stands out is how neat and organized this Marshalls is. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I walk in and don't feel like I have to dig through piles just to browse. The layout makes shopping feel easier and less chaotic than what I've experienced at the TJ Maxx close by. Service: The store associates here are attentive and kind, which makes a difference. Whether it's helping at checkout or answering a quick question, the interactions have always been pleasant. Value: The prices here are generally good, and I can usually find solid deals on everyday items and wardrobe staples. That said, every now and then I do come across items that feel a bit overpriced for Marshalls, especially when they're not significantly discounted from what you'd pay elsewhere. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's something I've started to notice during recent visits. Overall, if you're choosing between the Marshalls and TJ Maxx in this area, this Marshalls is the better bet in my opinion. I didn't expect to say that, but here we are.

I was not able to leave this day in particular with a Marshall find, but overall this franchise is…read moreone of my favorites. I think the value is always worth it, the service is standard (ask and you'll receive), and the items are as expected. This location was nice being close to other stores.

You have to be personally let in the bathroom by the manager. Completely ridiculous. Code locks on doors.

I truly appreciate Costco, the corporation. I've shopped at several of their warehouses in…read moredifferent states. This location is easily the most unpleasant and difficult one I have ever been in. I believe that the central problem is with the management of the location on Fern St. The staff have an attitude that you're bothering them when you ask a question or request some help. They have a disdain for their customers. This is a management and training issue. The answers to my questions to find products that have been relocated multiple times, is to give me the most minimal of information. I end up asking the people sampling products in the store, they are much more helpful and friendly. Employees here just really don't seem to care about their customers. As Mister L wrote on Jan 16, people were stuck in an elevator. He was documenting this and an employee had the gall to record him. Are you kidding?! No one who works in this store smiles. That is a clear indication of how the management of this store treats their employees. People who frequent Yelp know that when there are powerfully negative reviews- not angry, just descriptive-someone from the business responds and at least says, "Sorry, we'll try to do better." The management of this store has such little regard for their customers, they don't even have the decency to pretend to care. The one area of the store that I find as a friendly oasis is the pharmacy. The people in the pharmacy even smile. Most everyone who works there is kind, polite and tries to listen and help. I receive all of my vaccinations at this location. I really appreciate Milan who administers them to me. The parking situation of this Costco is dangerously absurd. Dangerous because nearly every car that enters and exits the parking lot needs to cross the pedestrian walkway. Absurd because it is nearly impossible to believe that a licensed professional engineer would have created such a ridiculous layout for a parking lot. I cannot think of any store with a worse car/walk flow. Because cars can't drive in easily due to the pedestrian traffic, there is almost always a backup on to Fern Street. I deeply respect this company as it has the tradition of treating its employees like valuable human beings. They are paid a reasonable wage and they receive medical insurance. And so DESPITE the disregard that I experience at this location, I will continue to come here. And finally, I shop at Costco because the majority of the products are of high quality at a reasonable price.

This is the closest Costco to me and definitely the worst one I've ever been to. The parking and…read moretraffic flow at this location truly bring out the worst in everyone, myself included. If you're already annoyed by "selfish DMV drivers" in general, it's about to be 10x worse here. Drivers will rudely take spots you've been waiting for for at least a few minutes, or suddenly brake in the middle of the lane and you can't even pass them. Getting in and out is hell -- driving in and parking in the lot carries a sizable risk of getting into a car accident every time. Aside from the horrendous parking situation, the produce is fresh, and I've never had issues finding anything I need. The checkout lines tend to be long, but the staff is helpful and efficient. The food court items are just okay -- I've had neither the best nor the worst food here. Typically, it comes out pretty quickly, 5-10 minutes after ordering. Additionally, if you hate running into people you know in public, I find that it happens pretty frequently to me at this Costco. You never know if you will bump into one of your coworkers scurrying around in the wild.

Since I now work in Arlington, I visit both stores often, hoping to score the kinds of finds TJ Maxx is usually known for. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck at this location. I still pop in from time to time out of habit and optimism, but more often than not, I leave empty-handed. Selection & Finds: The selection here feels hit or miss, leaning more toward miss lately. There's a sign for a "luxury" section, which initially caught my attention, but the items there tend to lack the quality you'd expect from something labeled luxury. It feels more like a concept than a well-executed section, which is disappointing when you're hoping to discover standout pieces. Store Experience: One of the biggest challenges with this location is how messy it can be. Racks often feel overcrowded, and items are frequently out of place, which makes browsing feel more like a chore than a fun treasure hunt. Compared to the Marshalls nearby, this store feels noticeably less organized and harder to shop. Service: The associates have been fine overall, but the general store upkeep makes the experience feel a bit rushed and less enjoyable than it should be. Pricing: The prices here can be decent, and I know TJ Maxx is known for good deals, but lately I've noticed more items that feel overpriced for what they are. Sometimes the discounts don't feel as significant as expected, especially when the quality doesn't quite match the price point. It makes it a little harder to justify purchases, especially when I'm not finding standout items to begin with. Overall, I still love TJ Maxx as a brand, but this particular location hasn't lived up to the standard I'm used to. If you're shopping in the Pentagon City area, you may have better luck at the nearby Marshalls.
