Funny enough my husband wanted to go to The Cotton Gin to shop for Vineyard Vines clothing. I had planned to sit the shopping trip out but next thing I know I'm checking out at Cotton Gin with a new puzzle, bracelet, Christmas ornament, candy and bag. Just when I didn't think I needed anything I managed to find a variety of things at Cotton Gin. As indicated by this anecdote, The Cotton Gin sells a variety of stuff and it's fun to wander through the various rooms of the two level store. Although I most commonly come away with beachy souvenirs it is worth noting that they have high end cotton products like towels, quilts, and such. The Cotton Gin has various locations and the Nags Head store is located at the 14 Mile Post across from the Outer Banks Mall.

- COVID BOOSTER SHOT - What a lovely experience…read more We scheduled a boost COVID shot appointment for Thursday morning around 11:30am. We arrived for the appointment, checked in on the CVS app, went inside, went to the back pharmacy counter which was clearly labeled, and were greeting kindly by someone behind the counter. We did not have our COVID CDC vaccine cards but had our MyIR records up on our phones which showed our both doses and where they were received from and when. They almost didn't take it but the pharmacist came over and said they can use the records but can't issue any CDC card for the booster but that it would be on record. Fine! No worries, we just wanted to get our boosters. She told us to go over and have a seat until she's ready. She came over about 10 minutes later with two little red baskets which contained gloves, an alcohol swab, and the booster shots. 30 seconds later, we are now both boosted and on our way! Well... we did have to complete the mandatory 15 minute observation period. Besides that, we're all good! All in all - very efficient, clean, and organized. It helped that there was no one there too. I'm glad we were able to get this complete while we were in the Outer Banks.

We were publicly stopped and searched inside the store despite having done nothing wrong. There was no explanation and no apology once it was clear no theft had occurred. The experience was humiliating, frightening, and completely inappropriate for a routine shopping trip. We won't be returning. Shoppers should be aware of how quickly a normal visit here can escalate.

Not all Tuesday Mornings are this large and well organized so visit this location in the Outer Banks Mall was a real treat. Also, the staff was very friendly. Here are the types of things you can expect to find here: - bedding and towels - kids toys and puzzles - home decor like throw pillows and rugs - seasonal decorations - bath items like soaps and magnifying mirrors - kitchen tools gadgets like corn holders and cookie jars - dog beds and toys - lamps The variety is good and the prices are great.
