In Virginia, the road is Princess Anne Rd. and changes to Knotts Island Rd. when you enter North Carolina. My visit here was on May 2, 2024. I haven't been down to Knotts Island in quite a while. My neighbor gave me the idea to come down here to get gas for the lawn mower as they sell pure gas (non-ethanol). Coming down from Virginia Beach, it does take some time, but I am glad I came down here. When I first came up to the place, I could tell it looked more like an "old school" gas station. It felt like a bit of history. When I came inside, I was surprised that it was more than a gas station or convenience store. There is a limited supply of this gas, so there is a limit to how much you can get. You will have to pay for gas inside. The attendant inside will hold your credit/debit card while you get the gas and then will charge the actual amount at that time. Gas is available on a first come, first serve basis, so be sure to contact the store ahead of time to ensure gas is available. The area is pretty quiet, so there isn't much to choose from, but there is a lot of natural beauty around. This store looks to be more of a general store and grocery store as you can get fresh produce, etc. Think of this place as an elevated convenience store with much more options than a typical convenience store. Overall, my experience was great here. I'm glad my neighbor told me about this place, and I will look to do this in the future as well. I love the small town vibe to the place. If you are in this area, this place is worth checking out, whether it is for gas or other general items. This is the prime example of supporting a local business.

On that note Saturdays and Sundays are always busier because that's when rentals begin and end so if you can avoid those days, the line won't be quite as bad for check out. You can get everything here that you can find at any other grocery store and then some! They have a large selection of beach stuff too, which is a huge plus. So go get all your food, toiletries, beach goodies, wine & beer, and any other necessities you may need to stock that house and then go get your butt on that beach, toes in the sand, drink in hand and have fun!

What turned this into a 5-star experience was the stellar customer service. When I called, the Assistant Grocery Manager, Gregory S., was calm, kind, and immediately took ownership of the situation. Rather than just offering a refund, he asked for the chance to fix it so I wouldn't have to scramble for last-minute food for the party. Within minutes he called back to confirm they could remake the order and he would personally deliver it on time. He arrived with everything *exactly* as advertised. The chicken was hot and in proper foil catering pans, so it could be put on my warmer, and the kids' tray was arranged with a fun smiley face that the children loved, and wanted to eat. He was professional, apologetic, and genuinely focused on making sure my daughter's party went smoothly. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but the way this manager and his store handled it was exceptional and went well above and beyond. They completely turned a stressful situation into a positive one, and because of that level of care and follow-through, I would absolutely recommend them for catering. If you have specific setup needs, it may be helpful to call ahead to confirm packaging but based on this experience I have a lot of confidence in how they take care of their customers.
