All the major departments - produce, meat, seafood, dairy, were stocked almost to overflowing, with good regular and sale prices displayed prominently. The store is brightly lit and the aisles are wide. There are 2 self-checkouts. The employees here are really friendly and chatty. If it ever expands (and if it does well, it should be considered), add some more hot food stations and a salad bar.

I've always heard they have some decent stuff and some prices at ALDI are lower than regular markets. They do have a good variety of stuff, from name brand items to some generic stuff that seems to be a lot cheaper than other places. They also have a decent selection of snacks, fruits and vegetables, and also all types of breads and meats. We were able to load up on groceries that will last a few days and the total price was not too bad. I'm not sure if the prices are just lower here in Oneonta, but I can't wait to go back to an ALDI in so cal and hopefully find the same great deals and values.

Was making a dish tonight, had my sauce all prepared, opened up the package of chicken and started to put the chicken thighs in when the most grotesque odor hit my nose that I nearly threw up. The chicken was absolutely beyond rotten. I check every date on anything I buy at that store because I've ended up with dozens and dozens of spoiled product. I didn't know you actually had to unwrap the chicken to smell it now too! Of course, all this resulted to me having to remake the sauce, which cost me more money and time, and had to go back to that miserable store and get the chicken replaced. Did they offer to cover the cost of the other ingredients I lost because of the spoiled chicken? Of course not they just hand me back my $8.52 from the spoiled package of chicken. I wish I could give this place negative stars and avoid it 100% but sadly they're the only grocery store within 20 miles and they print money because of the tourists so they have zero motivation to change or get better. For example, at this time of year, a new 4 lb. bag of Yukon Gold or yellow potatoes should look fresh, thinner-skinned and relatively clean (we bought one last week that was like this). Instead, the Price Chopper organization or store personnel are bagging or re-bagging older potatoes in with the new. In one four pound bag purchased yesterday, I found two older-looking potatoes with thick dark brown skins instead of the much paler, yellowy skin of new potatoes associated with this time of year. Other complaints include packing chicken in primarily larger packages instead of offering what used to be a wonderful selection of both small and large packages. Also, no sell by dates on containers of chicken livers (I called the store about this). The Price Chopper organization, in an effort to control prices lacks properly supervised and trained food department personnel. It is certainly displeasing long-time customers.
