** Clean Store ** ** Friendly Staff ** With a name like Price Chopper I did not expect much and I was wrong. This place was stacked with more than I would have ever imagined for a small town grocery store. My only gripe was the lack of bakery that you come to expect from a chain grocery store. Other than that, they had everything we needed! read more

This is the closest and basically the only supermarket near us. Unfortunately, in the last six months, their produce and meat departments have issues. For example, at this time of year, a new 4 lb. bag of Yukon Gold or yellow potatoes should look fresh, thinner-skinned and relatively clean (we bought one last week that was like this). Instead, the Price Chopper organization or store personnel are bagging or re-bagging older potatoes in with the new. In one four pound bag purchased yesterday, I found two older-looking potatoes with thick dark brown skins instead of the much paler, yellowy skin of new potatoes associated with this time of year. Other complaints include packing chicken in primarily larger packages instead of offering what used to be a wonderful selection of both small and large packages. Also, no sell by dates on containers of chicken livers (I called the store about this). The Price Chopper organization, in an effort to control prices lacks properly supervised and trained food department personnel. It is certainly displeasing long-time customers. read more

The entrance we used takes one through the produce department. Wow! I was really impressed by the fresh selection, variety and all the nutritious options available including but not limited to: juices, smoothies, et cetera. The deli, meat and seafood departments are neighbors and the selection of prepackaged meals are vast. The seafood options are also plentiful. I went with the intention of buying dinner, but literally had no clue what I was going to prepare. I only knew it would be something healthy so I perused the produce and seafood sections. Behold the end-cap with the portioned fish fillets and steaks. One piece of ahi tuna begging me to take it home was snatched up along with a bag of steamed veggies from the produce section. Price Chopper places coupons on items with a next day sell date so I saved a $1 on the veggies. The tuna was very well priced, an 11 ounce steak for $6.02. In the end, I had a delicious and healthy meal for less than $8. #winning Our cashier was extremely friendly and provided some useful around town tips once he learned we were visiting from out of town. The store was well stocked and the bakery featured a large selection of prepackaged and fresh baked goods. Strawberry shortcakes were on sale for $4.99, that's a real NY bargain! Finally, the entrance featured lots of vendor items such as candy machines, the claw machine and a Redbox. I will definitely return to this store if I need additional groceries while in town. read more

A good, full-service supermarket. They have many good sales for cardholders. Two-for one, especially. Fresh produce, although not generally local. Clean, well-organized, and easy. Helpful staff too. read more

Be careful when you get items like cake mixes and canned goods. I went to get Duncan Hines cake mixes and the stockers hadn't pulled them when the Best Buy Date was in October of 2018. It may have just been a slip up but you should always check your Best By Dates anyways. Other than that there are some good hardworking and kind employees that work there. They also need to seriously reduce their prices on a lot of items, I know they want you to spend $80 every visit but I can't afford that for just 3 bags of groceries for one meal. read more

Usually pretty good with keeping items stocked. Employees and staff are helpful and fast for check out. Deli options are good. We usually select their deli meat and potato salad here and there. The only frustration is that in order to receive the discounts you have to have a price chopper card. Not the most convenient when you are in and out of town. The doors when you exit are opposite of what they typically are. Meaning instead of exiting on the right hand side, you exit on the left hand side. A bit odd. read more

Used to be 24 hours, but isn't any more, which is not as convenient. The store is fairly clean and tidy and I've found that it has fresher produce than the Cooperstown location (although that's not saying too much). There is a decently sized "build your own six pack" section which allows for some sampling of various options. Any discounts require having a advantedge card, but if you don't have one they'll scan a store card for you and give you the pitch of why you should sign up. Accepts Apple Pay/contactless payments too. read more

I just love our Price Chopper on Rt 31!!! The people are so friendly and helpful! The fish and meat department are stellar! They carry everything that I need as a gluten-sensitive individual. The produce is always fresh, and I love the prices...the organic ones are a little high, though! I feel as though shopping Wegmans is more expensive, Walmart is just NOT a pleasant experience, Target doesn't have the variety, and Tops meat and fish can be disappointing...so Price Chopper is a winner! read more

We have lived here for 19 years. We remember when all we had was a "Great American"and it was not great! This store is better than the one in Cooperstown. It has its problems, but I want to give a shout out to Kathy who managed a recent problem with finesse. Very professional, very helpful and understanding. We highly recommend this store, and especially, thank Kathy for resolving our problem. read more

Nice bakery and deli foods. Great gas savings with each shopping if you get a Price Chopper card, which is free. Lots of fresh veggies and fruit. Not a lot of organics but that is growing. read more
