I stopped at Applegreen and would describe it as a very clean and solid travel stop. The place was…read morerelatively empty when I came in, and I'll admit I was mentally comparing it to Buc-ee's, which probably isn't fair. This isn't Buc-ee's, but it is clean, organized, and has what you need on the road. The bathrooms were very clean, which is one of the most important things at a stop like this. Almost everything was self-checkout, and they had a good variety of snacks, drinks, and other items. Prices felt a little high to me, but that may just be a New Jersey thing more than anything specific to this location. All in all, it did its job well and was very clean. I'm giving Applegreen 4.3 stars.

As someone who works in customer service, we all have bad days, we all have rushed days, but I watched this man walk back and forth three times for things instead of bringing them all out at once. It doesn't, nor has it ever, taken 20 minutes to make two subs. I was very disappointed with the service.

Over the last few years the town I teach in had a Dollar General built, it created a great deal of…read morecontroversy. I believe in judging things for myself. I found the prices were fair and the convenience incredible. It actually made my life easier as a teacher. This year our school was hosting a family event and my colleague and I needed to pick up a few things for our event. We both pulled in at the same time 7:45pm when someone ran to the front door and hung up a sign that said CLOSED. I parked and got out of my car and walked to the front doors the store hours clearly stated open until 9:00pm. I knocked on the front and side door and no one answered. At 7:55pm two men exited the building and stated that one of them had to go to another job and could only work until 8:00pm. The next day I called the manager and was told that he is away on deployment and the assistant manager was rude and said that having the wrong hours on her store job was the least of her worries and asked if I would like a job. I will never shop in the Tannersville, NY Dollar General ever again. It was made extremely clear that my business was not needed, I now see why so many were against this chain building in our town.

We found the welcoming yellow door of Good Grocer as we got into the heart of town & happily found that they stocked every single thing we needed ... and nothing we didn't! They had a wide variety of things neatly packed into a small (CLEAN!!) space & they couldn't have been friendlier. We visited a few times over the weekend, thankful for their hours of operation. Each time, everyone was super friendly & helpful. Every product we purchased was super fresh, which speaks to how quickly stock is rotated. Our favorite thing was the fresh rotisserie chicken! Oh my gosh, Costco could NEVER!!! We loved it so much we came back twice for more & now that we're home almost 2 weeks, we've talked about it several times LOL I can go on & on about all the good things about Good Grocer, but you should check it out for yourself if you ever find yourself in the area because it is a gem!
