Very clean, good variety and awesome little gift shop. I was pleasantly surprised at the range the rest stop had.

We were here for some cold drinks and the cooler filled with water had a variety of options, sizes and prices. Two large bottles for $2.50, how could I say no? Easy, quick, convenient. It's the Speedway. [Review 11494 overall, 1274 of 2019.]

Having had the chance to try out some of the almost missing Speedways in my area I had never…read morethought about before (because they are so out of the 'line of sight for me'), when a few of my Uber trips took me out into Saugerties, I thought I'd stop in yesterday and although my initial intention was to just get gas with a pay at the pump order, when I noticed that things went off without too much of a hitch and I had some money, I thought about going inside. At first, I wasn't 100% sure of what exactly I wanted. I had forgotten to check Yelp's page for the former Hess Station here, so I didn't know that they had (not anymore) a former Baskin Robbins here, I was like maybe they'll have those f'real shakes I can get for relatively cheap prices. I was in need of something to pick me back up from the slump I fell into yesterday and thought one of these shakes would be my ticket out. But when I began perusing around, I noticed that they did t have these machines either. So I went looking..."what can I find now?" I asked myself. But that's when I turned around in an aisle and spotted the candy with a delicious deal of 2 for $3.33. I might not have known which candies at first, but all of a sudden, you had my mouth watering when I noticed the Reese's Big Cup with the Reese's Pieces inside to which I also spotted a rare find in a candy Bar of Hershey's Cookie Layer Crunch - Mint (I can generally find just the Vanilla or Vanilla Caramel flavors only at some stores but the Mint one is seldom found.) However, that wasn't all. I splurged when I bought one more set of two of two others (Butterfinger and Kit Kat). I knew I'd have something for my snack drawer for when I got home (but I had enough and ate them later last night and into this morning.) I brought them up to the register and things went off without a hitch. I had my SpeedyRewards card ready and before I even realized, he was trying to scan my card but I had the cash near it , but when I realized this, I course corrected and let him ring in the barcode. It might have seemed like I was day-dreaming before paying at the register, but I can assure you that I wasn't. I made sure that the employee rung it up as 2 of those sales sets as I asked, as I handed the employee my money. His machine handed me my change followed by some other paper change from the clerks hands, as I busily put away my SpeedyRewards card away in my wallet. And having hated pennies in my change, I dropped the penny in the under/over tip bin. I hated for the one penny I dropped in to have seemed like a one cent bad tip for bad service but I explained to them that I just hate pennies, pocketing the rest of my loose change in my pocket. If only this location was closer to the center of downtown Saugerties and not so far into the boondocks of Saugerties that it gets forgotten about. I don't travel the Thruway much and stop in at Saugerties, so I don't expect to see this location very often.

Do all Valero's have problems printing receipts when you use the Pay-at-the-Pump Service? When I…read morewas in here yesterday (coming from an Uber Drop-off at North-South lake and used the unconventional Route 32 to get back to Dutchess County through Ulster County) I saw this Valero. When I pulled in, there was not a car in sight. It was cold and windy; I had a fleece sweatshirt but no jacket, and yet I stood there to pump some gas. But yet, I didn't know this when I paid. The machine on pump 2 looked like everything was going to be okay when it asked me whether or not to print the receipt and the display never mentioned problems with the printout, yet, no receipt ever came out. However, I was smart. I went inside and although there was one other person in front of me in line (and one person after me just as I went in), I asked for a duplicate copy after explaining the situation and within a minute or so was presented by my receipt and I walked out. Having had problems at other Valero stations, maybe Valero is a problem for me. At least this Valero was nice by not having two separate prices (10 cents apart) between Cash and Credit price (unlike your one station in what's technically Poughkeepsie I stopped at the other day). I thank you. Also of note, why is it that most Valero gas stations are always tied in with other named delis and convenience stores? I'd hate to contrast Valero to other named gas stations, but all over the place I've found gas stations having the same ownership of the pumps than at the convenience store (but not at any Valero's I've stopped at before). Seeing this transaction, if I'm ever back in your area, I think I'll stop in to pick up something at the Deli alone. Again, thank you. You earned my business. Sincerely, Chris B.

They had given an inspection for the van a year before and I remembered them as being kind, friendly and a family run business. My van broke down on a Sunday so without even getting an OK from them, I had my van towed to Steyers and left my keys in the dropbox. They called me the next day on Monday to let me know they were backed up with work and would I mind the wait. I said no and in a week they had an estimate and said they could search out the needed parts for my old lady. Several weeks later I had her back running like new again! I would recommend Steyers highly!
