Just because it is $5 and below doesn't mean you are getting a steal of a deal. Also as far as quality as I shop more here especially in the techie department I am not sure how high the quality is. I had to giggle at the tiny socks to cover chair legs. Practical and funny at the same time. Your floors would be protected from scratches though. Very Disappointing Customer Service Experience…read more I had a very disappointing experience at World Market today 10/24. I placed an order for curbside pickup, and when I arrived, it was raining heavily. Rather than have an employee come outside in the pouring rain, I decided to be considerate and walk into the store to pick up my order myself. Unfortunately, I had left my phone and wallet behind. When I approached the employees, I was told I needed my ID or phone to retrieve my order. While I understand that stores have policies in place to verify purchases, what bothered me most was the way the situation was handled. When I spoke with the manager and explained what happened, her response was, "Next time, use curbside pickup." The irony is that I HAD selected curbside pickup! I simply chose to come inside because I didn't want an employee having to walk outside in the heavy rain. Instead of showing any understanding or appreciation for the consideration I was trying to show her staff, the manager responded in a way that felt dismissive and completely unhelpful. I wasn't asking for special treatment. I was simply hoping for a little understanding and some assistance in figuring out how to retrieve an order I had already paid for. It's unfortunate that trying to do something considerate for employees turned into such a frustrating customer service experience. Management should be able to communicate store policies while still treating customers with courtesy and respect. This experience definitely left a bad impression, and I expected better from World Market.
