The meat & seafood department has fresh items and nice portion sizes for subs and sandwiches. They will feed you and won't skimp on the portion sizes which is an added bonus when going to local, small country style marts. The vibe is laidback, and the shopping experience is calm and not overly crowded and fast paced like more urban and suburban shopping experiences. The parking lot was not overly crowded and hectic again like more urban and suburban places. It is calm and serene out in this part of Maryland near the Pennsylvania border. The only thing is that the store is small which makes sense as this is a more rural part of Maryland, and also the store is a little dated. It would be nice to have more of a modern appeal and feel to it and not antiquated. Brighter and more vibrant look and not dull and dated would be great for this store. The store is in a scenic area with a mountain in the background. (Part of the Catoctin Mountain range of the Appalachian Blue Ridge mountains) All in all, this is a charming local grocery store in a more rural part of Northern Frederick County. A grocery store is a grocery store but being near the countryside with a lot of farmlands nearby, the higher quality fresher foods is what attracts people than what urban and suburban stores have going on.

I understand the reasoning of this, but why be such a disadvantage to the area if you attempt to be bigger than you are, but limit the choices inside. Came in here for nothing in particular. Since I was heading home soon, I figured I would pick up items I knew I would need, but weren't in dire need of them right away. I browsed through the aisles with no concept of time. I went up and down the aisles, no cart or basket, that way I would limit the amount I could purchase. I will say that the store was at least clean and organized. Even if the selection was lacking. In the end, I didn't get much, interacted with no one (self checkout), and made my way back out to my vehicle to get out of there.
