There is a lady who is going in there with a small dog and putting it in a cart. This dog is not a service animal. It ooks like and acts like a regular pet. It is important for people who need service animals to have them everywhere but they do not sit in carts and they are well behaved. I was waiting by the lottery machine and the dog was out of the cart rnning up to me several times. I probably would not have said anything if it had not been annoying me. This lady turned and asked me if i was waiting to play the lottery. It was obvious I was and when she did I asked her if the dog was hers and why it was in the grocery store. She said she had special permission fromt he store manager and she had anxiety so she needed this little dog which was ridiculous. I looked up the law on this and only service animals are allowed in grocery stores, not emotional support animals. The worse thing about it is the fact that she puts the dog in the cart instead of having a leash and controlling it alongside the cart. I wrote a letter to the manager of the store and received no response so I am assuming this is alright with him even though this is a health and sanitation violation. Oh sure,the dog is cute and all that but it is in a cart that anyone could get afterwards. And to be blunt, that dog's rear end and paws are all over that cart , a cart that you or I may unknowingly put our produce and food stuffs on after this woman leaves the store. And talking to the assistant manager and secutrity guard were useless at the time, even though at that point this woman was calling me names and saying she was purposely going to stay at the lottery machine to keep me from using it.

She was the only non-white staff member I noticed there at that time, and I hope this description may help management identify her and recognize her kindness. I was not feeling well that day, and the photo process took a little longer than I expected. Nevertheless, I decided to make the best of the moment and give myself the opportunity to have a better photograph than the one I had taken elsewhere. I wanted a picture that I could live with for the next ten years and that would remind me that, despite the obstacles life sometimes presents, we can still try to overcome them. Her photographic work was much better than my previous photo, although the image was slightly smaller than I would have preferred for a passport photograph. The next day, I sent my passport documents, including the photograph, to the passport processing unit. About two weeks later, I received my new passport. For the next ten years, that passport will remind me of an imperfect moment that nevertheless worked out well for me--thanks in part to the kindness of this anonymous lady. I hope that Walgreens can identify her and let her know that her small act of kindness made a meaningful difference to me.
