It was presented as would we like to sign up for a card anf get 10% off of our purchase we made. It would have been around an $8.00 savings. We have cards from 4 other stores that we have signed up for which give us great discounts. So not thinking we began to sign up and when they got to the social security question we realized we were signing up for a credit card, not a sales perk card. Too late to turn back and thinking we did not want to look crazy and back out in the middle of signing up and because the clerks were cheering us on we kept signing up. The clerks were saying they hoped we were approved so they culd give us the discount and then said "yay, you got it." Then they kept the cherade up by saying our total sale announcing it aloud like the total was showing a discount. In the end there was no discount and we only got a coupon showing 10% off any minimum of a 10 dollar purchase good for 1 month only and only good with the new TJ maxx card. They also never mentioned the 30% apr. We don't need a card with that high of apr as we have the only card we need with a much lower apr. Very much a waste of time and felt deceived. It is now in the circular file along with the falsified discount coupon.

Ordered an Eskimo Eskape 2600 2-Person Flip Shack and some accessories at the Canandaigua, NY store…read morewhich is almost 3-hours away. They were the closest Runnings that had these units in stock per their website. I received an email that part of the order was ready. I waited until I received a 2nd email indicating everything was available. I was well withing the time frame before they would cancel the order and put the items back in stock. When I arrived, the Eskimo Eskape 2600 2-Person Flip Shack was not available. They said that they only had one unit and not two and gave it to the person who ordered it in January. I don't believe them and think they just sold the unit I purchased and paid for instead of separating it. They told me my unit was "in transit". I was going to cancel the order and asked them if it is in transit, could they just ship it to the Gloversville Runnings. They said they could, but it would take another two weeks. Remember, this is an expensive seasonal item and can only be used for a short period of time each year. Normally when businesses screw up at this level, they offer some sort of compensation to make up for the trouble they caused. Runnings did not. At this point I am considering never shopping at RUNNINGS again. I am just so disgusted with them. My guess is they'll screw up the shipment to Gloversville RUNNINGs.
