Breakfast at Dolces, good, straight forward unpretentious cafe food - not cheap-cheap prices but it all seems fresh, clean and wholesome - scrambled egg and smoked salmon delivers a good plateful, good coffee, the juice a real juiced apple (or two) prepared on the spot and friendly and attentive waitress service.
However, don't expect fancy, for instance the eggs were delivered in the well cooked (or over-cooked if purist), bobbly way, not lightly cooked and presented like a psuedo omellette - the salmon was spread thinly over the whole plate with the eggs ladled in the middle - no particular finesse, but tasty and filling.
Right on Wardour Street, get the window seat and watch the morning hussle and bussle - the table was actually booked for lunch already - a good sign when there is a constant stream of regular customers coming and going, makes for a lively atmosphere and reassures that you haven't boobed on the choice.
