He knew painters were scheduled right after him, so he stayed late on a Friday and came in early on a Saturday (before he was to attend a wedding) to make sure the project got done in time. We have used AL Construction in the past and asked him if he could come install wood flooring, help hang lighting fixtures, take care of painting, and asked him to help us with an overall inspection of the home. We aren't construction savvy so we don't really know what is good or bad, and Lennar gave us a 1 year warranty on the home. He helped us identify a few issues that we brought up to Lennar to fix (NO COST TO US!!!) and helped us make some of the changes we wanted that were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy less expensive vs. going thru the home builder. Like I mentioned before, we have used his services before. - he has a license - he is smart - priced well - uses permits/plans/contracts for everything (which made us feel safe.) We have a baby and were concerned about dust, but he came in to our home with a mask and booties and was respectful of COVID-19 social distancing, which we truly appreciated. He taped off the area that he worked on and did things in our schedule so that we were not home while they were working. When he was done, he cleaned up and we could not be happier with our new home! Al Menendez Construction was highly recommended to me and that's why I hired him to tighten all of…read morethe hinges to my cabinet doors in my home in August 2016. One cabinet had already fallen on my kitchen counter due to loose screws which Al himself nicely repaired after he ordered a new hinge. I told Al that I would like him to tighten all of the hinge screws on all of my cabinet doors throughout the house so that I would not have the same problem happening again. In December one of my linen cabinet doors came completely loose and fell off. Al did not stand by his work and said he would charge me $130.00 plus parts to fix the cabinet door. No parts were necessary because the cabinet door only needed to be screwed back in. The hinges were not broken. After four months a cabinet door should not fall off because the screws were loose. Especially a cabinet door that I hardly open. Obviously, the hinge screws to this particular cabinet door were not properly tightened in August.

I don't know who was showing up twice a day and checking the work... there's no way that's the same person I dealt with! Masoud is soo dishonest. The kind of person who will lie to your face and say "I didn't send that text". When you're standing there showing him the text in your thread with him. I never can understand how people can lie to your face when they know you know they are lying, and think it somehow absolves them. He did it CONSTANTLY. Luckily I'm handy because I've had to fix or redo a majority of the 30k worth of work that I hired him to do. I have had to redo everything that Masoud did except for the concrete (I did have to fix holes they made in the house while doing the concrete though). Floor, fence, gate, yard leveling, lights, plumbing, tiling, holes they made in the walls and ceiling. They are super rushed and don't care about the quality at all. They cut every corner, and there's no QC unless you do it yourself. He has zero organization. He never schedules anything until the last minute. He was always texting me at night telling me to open the house for workers the next morning, even though I gave them a key. He was at the house (briefly) the day his workers took out all the windows to put in new ones. He told them in front of me that it was going to rain the next day. That night when it starts raining I get a text from neighbor saying no windows are installed anywhere and none of the holes are covered. I call Masoud. He says "my guys live pretty far, do you think you could drive down there (45 mins in traffic) and cover them yourself"? I ended up having to withhold money at the end to pay another contractor (who's fantastic for about 10% more) to fix even more work because I got tired of fixing it all myself. Stay away from this shady dude. ETA: They did a pretty good job on the concrete they poured for me. If you're adding concrete, and you don't have a schedule, and you're handy enough to fix anything they break... they are probably ok, and very inexpensive.
