Tuna melt with side salad

Came here for a Sunday brunch and can say that this is a really good spot. Staffs great, ambiance is nice (birds fly in and out of the restaurant which is pretty cool) and the food is amazing! They do not do refills on drinks, we were told that after getting a few refills on OJ which was not cool but it is what it is. Would come back!

Great stop for a quick casual bite. Open floor plan with an ocean breeze gives a very relaxed vibe. Food is delicious and quality is there, just need to come back to try out the rest of the menu! Recommend coming early to get a table, as it does fill up in the morning.

The Amazing Steak Sandwich

Oh my, the food and vibe are very good and they have easy parking. Let's start with the not so great. Came on a Sunday at noon. My husband and I didn't know what to do. Do we take a seat, order first then get a number and take a seat, have someone seat us??? Lots of questions. My husband got in line thinking he would order. I finally just asked some people eating if they were seated or just grabbed a table (I don't recommend doing this, but I didn't see the staff) and they said we just sat. I sit at a table and finally someone comes over to me and says I need to put my name on a list and not sit at the table so customers can sit there (of course). All that to say, I wish there was a sign on what to do on the weekends as it was awkward and kind of embarrassing. Now the good part. We got our name on the list and were seated rather quickly. Our waitress was amazing and we started to feel all the love. I got a vanilla latte. It was just ok. But then the food came!!! I ordered the steak egg sandwich and my husband ordered the steak and eggs. Not exaggerating...that was the best steak sandwich I've ever had! We live in San Diego but when I visit my sister in Laguna Beach I think I'll have to pick up a steak sandwich every time. Oh and the hot sauce!!! If they could sell it, I'd buy many bottles. All that to say, I'll be back many times!

Breakfast Burrito with home made Salsa!!

As my surfing brothers in Dana Point would say: "YUM TO THE MAX, DUDES!!" I've been coming to what is now the Incredible Doheny Cafe since before it WAS the Doheny Cafe - given it is conveniently right next door to the laundromat that I frequent every couple of weeks. I can surf the web, enjoy excellent coffee and baked goods - and breakfast - get my online work done and basically hang out while the washing machines and dryers do their thang!! Today my guide Tuesday recommended the breakfast burrito - and I'm so glad I followed her recommended dish. THANKS, TUESDAY!! Food = Great Service = Even Better Ambiance = Calm, cool & Chill See ya next week!!

Stopped by Doheny Cafe while cruising around Dana Point hunkering for some good ol' fashioned breakfast fare. This welcoming spot is a great beach cafe vibe with a slightly sophisticated feel. Plenty of parking out front in this strip retail area in Dana Point. You'll notice the indoor / outdoor open space feel, with plenty of comfortable tables and seats throughout a Southern California surf motif. The staff is extremely friendly, a well-oiled machine churning out some outstanding breakfast items to eager customers. On this weekday morning, my girlfriend and I decided to reward ourself with some delicious items to munch. We both had some hot tea with honey to start. While she opted for the much healthier Breakfast Burrito, I went with the Banana Waffles. Our order came out quite quickly, and looked beautifully prepared. My two Banana Waffles arrived with sliced bananas, pecans, honey and maple syrup. My girlfriend's Breakfast Burrito (scrambled eggs, cheddar, potatoes) was paired with a healthy green salad. I snagged a bite of my girl's burrito. It was quite good. Chalked full of hot eggs, cheddar and diced potatoes, the tortilla wrap was grilled to a tee and sealed in the delicious ingredients. The accompanying sour cream and salsa verde was also a nice touch. My Banana Waffles were top notch. Soft and fluffy, with a great drizzle of honey, chopped pecans and bananas were simply effective. Only have a dusting of powdered sugar and an accompanying real maple syrup is always respected and appreciated. It wasn't a huge amount of food, but just the right amount to enjoy for a medium-sized appetite. The Cafe was full by 11:00am, with what seemed to be a lot of locals. The vibe is definitely laid back, relaxing and fun. The food and service are great and you won't be disappointed with anything on the menu. Surf's Up!

Mac and cheese and waffles with berries

Food is amazing! Decent parking situation for a Saturday morning! Was able to quickly find parking. We ordered the waffles with berries and mascarpone cheese. Let me just tell you I'm not a huge waffle fan BUT these were amazing and so great! Not overly crispy but more like a pancake waffle. The Mac and cheese was delicious! The crumble on top was amazing, perfectly cheesey and made with great ingredients/fresh/ real cheese. The lemonades were tart and refreshing! We'll fore sure be going back!

This place had a nice vibe! Place was nicely located and setup. The server was fast and attentive. We were in spring break so took the kids with us. We had the Honey Latte and Vanilla Latte which tasted amazing! The kids had the homemade lemonade with a nice crisp tarte flavor. I had the steak and Eggs plate and wife had the Waitress plate and the kids shared the plate The Big Boy Waffle plate which was enough for two! They sure enjoyed it. Everything tasted amazing! We enjoyed our meal for sure! Highly recommend!

We've been here a few times. This is the same owner as Maison cafe and if you've been to both, you definitely see the resemblances. With that said, both spots are excellent. You'll usually get good service with solid food. Doheny cafe specially has a few good breakfast dishes and they do a good job of getting people in and out. I posted a few of the meals we ordered and we've tried other things on the menu as well. It's worth checking out if you're going to doheny for the day or just in the area. Cheers!

My first time here and my God did it hit the spot! I ordered the scramble and added sausage and avocado. My father ordered the same thing but with bacon. The bacon scramble is where it's at tons of flavors, fantastic salsa! Service was quick and friendly

Unfortunately, this restaurant disappointed. There were four of us, and we all ordered coffee and entrees. Although the staff were very kind, it took almost an hour for our food to come out before ordering. They brought us pastries to make up for it, which was very appreciated, but at the end of the day, the wait was a little crazy given that the restaurant wasn't too busy. Im thinking maybe they were understaffed? Once I received my food, I started eating, and found three hairs in my food. It was quite good, but the hairs were not worth it after the wait. Additionally, we were sweating because there's no AC, and it's an open room. There was also no stevia for coffee. If anything, though, the food was good. The breakfast sandwich was huge and the berries were yummy. The pastries were great, and everyone else at the table enjoyed their food. Thankfully, they comped our food and drinks. The staff was kind and we appreciated their efforts to improve the experience, but we won't be heading back.

SO GOOD! i definitely recommend coming here :)) me and my group are doing a little stay-cation and we were coming down from glendale, and honestly we didnt know where to get our breakfast for one of the days and didnt want to eat at the hotel. We ended up deciding on this place and we are glad we did, the food is so good!! I love that all of the ingredients are clean and the food tastes fresh. service was great! the people working are super chill and attentive. the ambiance is super laid back and i love the layout of the place. I like that its an open space so feeling the morning breeze while we ate was nice

Such a cute little cafe spot in Dana point. It's also within walking distance to the Doheny beach! We walked in for breakfast and put our name down for a table. It was pretty busy on Sunday. However we waited a few minutes and got called for an opening to sit at the bar which we gladly accepted. Service was friendly and once we got our drinks, one of the girls noticed we had been waiting a bit for our food and kindly offered us a cookie. Once the food came, everything was great and we left satisfied!

Between the cappuccino and sandwich, I spent a little over $20, so I was expecting a pretty good breakfast. The cappuccino looked great and actually wasn't bad. It also came with a little piece of chocolate on the side, which was a nice touch. What I thought was strange was that when I asked for it sweet, I was told I needed to walk over to the coffee bar, grab sugar packets myself, and bring them back to the counter. For an approximately $8 cappuccino, that seemed a little odd. Unfortunately, the croissant sandwich was the biggest disappointment. It looked great, but it had almost zero flavor. The most noticeable thing in my first bite was actually the crunch of eggshell in the eggs. For a breakfast sandwich around $15, I think it's reasonable to expect the eggs to be seasoned and definitely free of eggshells. The sandwich was basically egg on a croissant with a few very small pieces of bacon. Even a little garlic, seasoning, cheese, sauce, or something added to the eggs would have made a huge difference. It was also served with a side salad, which seemed like an unusual pairing for breakfast. I ended up taking only two bites of the sandwich and finished my cappuccino. I'm giving Moulin 2 stars because the staff were nice, the restaurant and bathroom were clean, and the cappuccino was decent. The place definitely has the upscale presentation, but unfortunately the food I received didn't match the price or appearance.

Instead of that silky, gooey layer that brings everything together, the cheese remained stubbornly intact. A little more time on the grill would make a noticeable difference. Served alongside crisp-edged breakfast potatoes and a pickle, the meal has plenty going for it. Between the excellent turkey and the harbor setting, RJ's earns its place on the lunch list. Only ONCE before in my 40-year career have I EVER been asked to have the venue named on my policy for the event. That event was being held in a very high-security utilities building in downtown Los Angeles, where the rooftop area when I was asked to perform was rather dangerous in places. That was a major inconvenience but at least I understood fully as to why this particular group would request this. So, enter the Ranch at Laguna, lol: A dumpy-looking property that looks like it's in the middle of a construction site as you drive up, and has a ton of very dangerous-looking outdoor stairs in the "gardens"(?), not very well-lit, and leading to gosh-knows-what, hidden beyond the darkness below. The "ballroom" I was appearing in was rather small, and looked like a very common and average meeting room one might find at a Sonesta or other properties of that ilk. This is certainly not a property with any bragging rights at all, and they had the audacity to inconvenience me into not only providing proof of liability insurance, but spelling out very specially the separate amounts of coverage they require, and then asked to be added to the policy for the event, and even provided a very specific template to follow, and yadda, yadda, yadda. ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS and completely unnecessary for me and for what my "act" is. I do not use anything dangerous in my presentation. No fire, pyrotechnics, any sort of musical equipment, musical instruments, etc., which WOULD warrant such a request, as any of those things might possibly harm someone in attendance or any of the staff. I'm just a comedian who strolls around, and that's all. I had to jump through hoops to try and make this all happen, and was only made aware of that nonsense ten days before the event, while I was out of town on another event and wouldn't even be able to get to my office until five days before the party. I tried, and the proof did not arrive in time, but the events person made an exception to the person putting on the party, and while that might have been some kind of a nice gesture, she had to add: "...but we don't usually do that." Sit down and shut up, lady. Luckily, I did appear with no other hitches and my client and all the guests were wowed by me, and that is ALL I care about. I will NEVER accept an engagement at this property again, and will happily never have to face the absolutely anal-retentive requirements for outside vendors. I will also warn other entertainers to beware of the situation before accepting jobs there as well, and to make those potential clients aware too, so they can perhaps choose another venue to spend money on for their event, a suitable venue. This place ain't it. Buh Bye.
