We started taking our 6 month old puppy to Dogtopia and after a month switched to Scooby Shack. Workers stand around and do not give attention to dogs. No place for dogs to go to the bathroom so they just go in the ground while other dogs run through it( workers are not quick ti clean it up). Our puppy picked up the habit of peeing anywhere so, he started going to the bathroom all over our house. FYI he was fully potty trained prior to Dogtopia. Just not impressed with the location especially for the price!! I'll include a screenshot of the webcams where you can see the worker had not cleaned up any of the pee. (None of it is water... We started using Dogtopia of Lake Oswego in September 2023. For the first 8 months, we had good experiences where our only concern was the lack of outdoor space. This past summer, the parent company (I'm assuming) fired the manager and many of the staff. Since then, it's been a complete mess. They offer a month bath special, but in October alone we had three dates that they missed and didn't not return payment for (we were signed up for once a week visits). Today, however, was the final straw. It took 25 minutes to pick up our dog at 4:30pm only to find out that they only had two people working there in the afternoon. One of those people was at the front desk and she was clearly new and overwhelmed. That leaves one person to manage at least two dog rooms and who knows how many dogs. This is an unsafe environment for our beloved pets and I will not be returning. read more

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Dogtopia Lake Oswego - Avoid at All Costs! We were loyal Dogtopia customers until our recent, deeply troubling experience boarding our dog, Walter, from January 29th through February 6th at the Lake Oswego location. Upon check-in on the afternoon of January 29th, the staff was confused and unable to understand Walter's valid, current veterinary documentation. I was told they were new and not trained to verify this information. After a long delay and at my suggestion, they finally called the veterinarian to confirm. I also requested that Walter be bathed before pick-up on the morning of February 7th, but the staff member assisting me never logged the request because they weren't trained to handle the check-in process properly. While we were out of the country, I sent a reminder email requesting Walter's bath, but no acknowledgment. On the morning of February 7th, I called to confirm I was on my way to pick him up. The person who answered told me they were new and didn't know if Walter was ready. This raised immediate concerns, and I drove straight to the facility. Upon arrival, the same staff member informed me they weren't authorized to issue an invoice for Walter's boarding. When I asked for a manager, I was told there wasn't one on duty, and they didn't know when one would be available. I also inquired about Walter's food container and toy. After confusion and another delay, the staff member returned from the boarding area with his empty food container and toy. When I dropped him off, I had provided enough food portioned for ten days, but he was only boarded for eight days, including two half-days. Clearly, something was wrong. Most concerning of all, Walter's allergy tablets had not been administered per our instructions. When I brought him home, he was dirty, lethargic, and soon suffered from severe diarrhea. If you love your pet, DO NOT take them to Dogtopia Lake Oswego. This experience left us heartbroken and furious. The lack of training, poor communication, and neglect of basic care jeopardized our dog's health and well-being. We will never return, and we urge other pet owners to avoid this location at all costs. read more

I brought my dog to Dogtopia for over a year. When I first brought him, things were good. But, the last few months I saw a decline in the quality of care and of the general quality of the workers. I appreciate that they are hiring high school and college aged kids, however when the majority of the staff are that, it is reflected in the dogs behavior and the care they receive. Numerous times the wrong dog was brought out to the owner. It happened twice to me and I witnessed it twice with other people, this had never happened before. I also was asked twice what my dogs leash looked like, which had never happened before. I found my dog with multiple small scratches or bite marks, which its daycare, it happens, but no one noticed or mentioned to me. Lastly, and the final straw, right before Thanksgiving, on our way out of town, we were dropping my dog off and the person overslept their alarm and didn't arrive until 45 minutes after the normal opening time. I was told I would receive a credit for that day but never did. Not to mention I never received any kind of formal apology or acknowledgment of how much of an inconvenience that was. I have now reached out 4 times and not gotten a refund and been ran around in circles by the manager, refusing to refund me for the days I had left despite me informing them I no longer felt comfortable bringing my dog there. read more

I've taken my dog Norman to several dog daycares over the years and I will say, I do love Dogtopia the best! I feel safe bringing my dog in and leaving him in their care whether it be for the day while I'm at work, or on a week-long trip. They also have lots of fun things for the dogs to do while they are there: picture days, treats, and parties. They also have cameras that are available so you can check in on your dog while they are there! The only negative thing I will say is that they close from 12-2 for lunchtime and I'm also assuming shift change for the employees. From the business's standpoint, I understand why they close. But from a pet parent's perspective, it is the most inconvenient time to close-- it's right in the middle of the day. More times than not, I opt to not take my dog because of this. I know I would take my dog here more if they were open and I could drop/pick up, but instead, I have to be very very particular about when I take my dog. If this wasn't in place, I'd for sure come more and also give it a full 5 stars. read more

There is a reason they offer all the bells and whistles, to over shadow their rude staff. Not all their staff but there is absolutely a handful of employees that aren't as into dogs as it appears on the outside. We boarded our dog there for a few nights after we had taken her to daycare 5+ times and she was never in the cameras and if she was she was always in a kennel. She was 7 months at the time so just a puppy and long story short when we got home after picking her up one of the staff left a note stating our dog was obnoxious and that we clearly trained her all wrong and will need to better her behavior if we think any place will take her over night again. It also said she plays too rough therefore was separated from the rest of the dogs the majority of the time-meanwhile they have numerous rooms that cater to different type/sizes for this reason. It was a terrible feeling to think she was all alone for all that time bc again she was just a growing puppy still trying to learn, thriving from affection plus she had been there numerous times so her temperament or whatever was on record and never had a problem before. This place is WAY over priced and I just can't trust them or what they claim to be a love for dogs. read more

I wanted to like Dogtopia Lake Oswego, but in July 2023 on his first day there my 4 month old 24 lb puppy was lunged at by an 80+ pound dog that got off leash in their hallway, as their staff sat behind the counter oblivious to the situation. Next, in the small dog daycare room an attendant put a slip lead in the middle (not behind ears to avoid neck damage) of my collar-naive (he'd only worn harnesses), so likely to struggle, 16 week old puppy's neck! Later their behavioral expert told me their policy is that his harness should not have been removed and replaced by any collar whatsoever. Dogtopia staff also confessed to me that, in the small dog daycare room, they allowed two mature dogs who knew each other well (packing dogs) to harass him that same dsy. My puppy had stress related diarrhea for the next 24 hours, and acquired leash reactivity we must work hard to remedy to this day. Giving LO Dogtopia the benefit of the doubt, while I appreciate their honesty, maybe this Dogtopia's better for mature dogs (?). I recommend owners introducing their beloved pups to Dogtopia LO diligently use Dogtopia's camera access to watch over their pups to ensure proper management before committing pups to their care long term. read more

We really had hoped to like this place....but will not be back. They nickel and dime you for every little thing. It is already more expensive than other places in the area and then they insist on having your dog come in annually for daycare in order to allow you to board. Each time I have boarded here they make mistakes on the reservation and call repeatedly for little items they forgot to ask you about when you made the reservation. And here is the worst part....you have access to a camera while you are away and we watched them let a pug hump our Cavalier for HOURS while our dog tried to get away. We have to call multiple times and ask them to keep a closer watch. read more

Honestly I am enraged by this whole experience..... My dog is now injured from what happened yesterday in the care of your facility from what you guys let happen to her!.. I shouldn't have had to call while I'm at work to tell you guys that the person that was supposedly "watching" my dog to do her job correctly... and even when I did call to let you guys know what had been going on you still didn't even stop it or watched her closely like you said you would!!!! Ever since that dog came in and wouldn't stop leaving her alone I had to watch the cameras non stop in hopes that she would correct the behavior from other dog that would not leave her alone and kept on mounting her multiple times, non stop!!!!!! You guys say that is normal behavior and that's playing. Yes, it is somewhat playing behavior to the extent it shouldn't happen more than just a few times.... But the fact that the dog would not stop doing that to her and wouldn't leave her alone for more than an hour is absolutely not okay behavior. I've talked to my dogs doctor and an animal therapist and explained to them the traumatic event that happened they were both in shock and in an agreement that shouldn't be okay to have let that happen! They explained that that is aggressive dominance behavior and that is solely on that specific dog! And that shouldn't have had let go on and it should have been stopped immediately and the dog should have been put somewhere where the dog couldn't get to my dog anymore..... and as for the person working she should have been physically turned facing the dogs to watch them at all times but instead she wasn't not! You should have a cleaning kennels procedure in place to where they are clean AFTER the dogs are gone and or before so you would have your full attention on the dogs and not busy doing other work. Maybe you should have two people in there if that one person can't do what she's suppose to do... is to watch the dogs. You guys advertise SAFE-play. But what happened to Charlotte was the complete opposite.... I had expressed seriously multiple times that my poor baby cannot defend herself and she is too submissive and you all reassure me that she will be well watched and taken care of.... that in fact did not happen and resulted to an injury. Also you need to separate out all the dogs that are too big!!! The dog that had did this to my girl was way too big to be in that damn room from the beginning.... That dog is not toy size!! That is a medium to large size dog!!! There were way too many big and overly heavy dogs in there to begin with! The definition of a "toy size dog" is VERY VERY SMALL dog..... so the fact that you call that the toy size room is a bunch of freaking BS... I hope my dogs traumatic incident will make you guys change your ways and do things the correct way!! read more

Our dog loves going to Dogtopia and we love taking him there because the facilities are clean and modern, the staff is friendly and caring, the location is convenient, and I love that they have a webcam so I can watch him play.
