Worked here for two days. The owner is cold and mean, and the treatment of the dogs, particularly the ones who are boarded overnight, sucks. Dogs are kept in empty kennels with no toys or beds. They get one thin blanket for the night. Tried to give them more but was told not to "waste" resources. One dog was whimpering and barking from boredom and loneliness, and I was trained to scream at him and spray him with water to silence him. That's the solution for any barking and whimpering, just angrily scream and spray. The "small dog park" they advertise has nothing in it whatsoever; dogs that can't play in the main park just get shunted between empty kennels to a slightly bigger empty space, are ignored except for yelling, and then put back into the kennels after fifteen minutes. They sleep overnight in those kennels, left by themselves. Terrible place. read more

Not a very welcoming space... second star for keeping my dog alive. The feedback for my dog wasn't very helpful or encouraging. Apparently my dog is an anomaly in all of 12 or 15 years of the person that worked there. Maybe it was the way my dog barked in other dogs faces? Maybe it's the way he humped other dogs? According to the person at the front "I don't know what it could be, it's not like they can talk to me" I know my guy is a big young pup (65lbs @ 2 years old), so he's still a work in progress... which the first person who was there and left by herself understood. Not so much on the second visit though... talk about feeling judged. Silence, no eye contact, from both people who were there. I have a 4 month old puppy who absolutely loves it there and I know gets really well cared for while she's at Inbark which are the two most important things to me. Well, this is a perfect example of good place gone bad. I really should have updated my review long ago, but now here it is. I had been bringing my dog since they opened, and as we've gone there I've witnessed them spiraling downhill, more so every time. In the early days we would go to use the park. I felt $8 was a little high but still justifiable since I could come and go all day (I rarely did make it back so the $8 ended up not quite being worth it, but that's not really their fault). After a while they were overcrowded with daycare dogs so not only could I barely move through the park, I definitely could not throw a ball for my dog. To be honest, I'm not sure they are within the legal limit of how many dogs they can have in there, especially since there's only one park attendant. Is there a legal limit? Anyway, I stopped going for park purposes long ago. I was still bringing my dog in for daycare about once, maybe twice a week, so she could run her energy out. I started noticing when I'd pick her up she was all wet and smelled funny. There's a fountain in the park that the dogs can walk through and drink from. I used to think it was cool, then again it used to be in working order and the water was clean. I don't know how long ago it broke, but it's been months. Now it has gross, smelly, dirty standing water in it that the dogs walk through, pee in, and track out into the turf. I'm pretty sure that's why most of the "grass" is soaking wet, which then makes my dog soaking wet and incredibly bad smelling. I don't even want to think about what kind of bacteria she might be picking up from the standing water either. All I know is it does NOT smell right. I have stopped taking her for daycare too, in fact we don't go at all anymore. I'm pretty sure they are not lifting up the turf and steam cleaning it like they told me they do way back in the newly opened days. Back then the place smelled clean, the turf wasn't soaking wet, the fountain wasn't filled with moldy standing water, and you could move through without falling over 40-50 dogs. I'll be honest, the reason I've stopped taking her is that I'm concerned about her health. If it was just the fact that it was crowded I'd still drop her off for daycare. As it is, I do not want her getting sick and I do not feel secure about the cleanliness there at all. I've also heard rumors of other dogs getting sick, so that was the final straw. Sorry InBark, gotta get back to how it was. I know it costs more to run without so many daycare dogs, and to spend extra time (employee hours) cleaning thoroughly, but that's what was promised when we started going and I don't see any of that happening anymore. I am not putting my dog's health on the line when there are other places to go. Sad to see things go this way since I have always enjoyed the park attendants. They were so nice and great with my dog. It is filthy (my dogs have come home with sores which became infected, our vet said do not take them there, as other clients are having the same infected sores!). The smell of urine and need a bath every time I pick them up. The owner is NOT nice. She is very bipolar. One day, she is empathetic and friendly and the next, punitive and tells you that your dog is not well suited for her urine den. Over crowding. There appears to be no state law on how many dogs you can have in a daycare, but I was told they were full one day (at over 80) and come back another when it does down. There are only 2-3 staffers who can't possibly oversee this many dogs Dog bites. We were clients for several years and I would catch this young red haired male employee being very loving to the dogs. When Covid hit and the only employees were Cindy and Destiny (or at least that I could tell) then things changed. We boarded our dog for a week and the following week we brought her in she was truly scared. I realized that Cindy and Destiny never smiled, never 'welcomed' her- ever. I let them know that she was scared and would need some special attention to feel welcome and rather than accept the recommendation they said it was because of her behavior. When our package ran out we found a new place. Our dog, after 2 years, still has FULL BODY WIGGLES and drags us into the new place. Now that we have a comparison we realized that they didn't care for our dog. Be careful. If your dog is sensitive to the feelings of humans, find another daycare because they will be better off. read more

Went on Friday and was told to come back in a hour because all of the dogs were going to take a nap. The woman at the front was kinda rude about it, I should have taken that as a sign for what was to come.... so we came back and they released about 30 dogs, which is fine, but the place is REALLY small. Too small for that many. Also, it smelled AWFUL in there, the strongest urine smell EVER!! Our clothes/shoes/dog smelled like it when we got home. What's funny is that I split time with another daycare near my work, and they have the complete opposite feedback on our dog. The rest of the staff is GREAT! They always have great things to say about my dog. Whatever you do, take your dog elsewhere.....oh, and one last piece of advice....don't pay for bathing and nail trims here. I wanted to add some comments to my original post after reading the negative reviews. Someone commented on the fountain; I too had concerns about the fountain. Initially I felt uncomfortable voicing my concerns to the owner (I don't know why?!) but I finally mentioned something and I'm glad I did. She was very open to talking with me and made me feel comfortable for speaking up. How else is she supposed to know I'm concerned about the place that's caring for my dog if I don't speak up. From what I can tell, the fountain has been empty for a good month or so. I haven't asked, but maybe they have decommissioned it permanently. Another person commented on wanting to take a tour and the person up front didn't seem very willing. If it was the owner conducting the tour then my guess is that she didn't feel comfortable leaving the front area unattended. She is the one manning that reception area all day long. There are peak hours and I imagine it's tough to be pulled away then. I would suggest to people that they call ahead first and ask when a good time to come in and tour is. In regards to the smell...I do notice a mild smell if I go there in the evening. However, this is an indoor facility. Go tour other places and you'll find the the majority have an odor. I wish there was zero odor but compared to some other places I've toured, InBark is pretty darn good. I know they do the best they can to keep their facility as clean as possible. I trust InBark to take care of my pups whether it be at daycare or while being boarded. They do great with special instructions and they even help out and react appropriately if a dog is exhibiting a medical need. For example, I left my dogs there to be boarded one weekend. As I was leaving, I noticed my pup had a sore on her paw that seemed to be bleeding a little. I mentioned it to the staff and asked if they had any suggestions to help with the sore. They quickly said not to worry, that they have a first aid kit on site and they were able to put some ointment on it. When I picked my pup up a few days later, her paw was all better. I appreciate that at least a few of the staff are or were vet techs, making them experienced for these types of situations. Bottom line, I still love InBark. My pup goes there at least twice a week. They are helping to raise my little girl which makes the owner and the staff there a part of my family. I treat them as such and I feel I get the same treatment in return. My two biggest suggestions are to call ahead if you want to tour and don't be afraid to discuss your concerns with the owner. read more

During the fall and winter of 2014 I was in Portland almost every weekday for work. I stayed at a pet-friendly hotel but was unable to leave my dog there during the day which prompted me to call InBark. Actually it prompted me to call a lot of doggy daycare facilities, but InBark was the one I chose because they are, simply put, amazing. My dog is a rescue and up until that point had spent most of his time at home in his huge backyard or on hiking trails, which meant he hadn't really been socialized and I was unsure how he'd react to spending weekdays in a dog park. Cindy, and the rest of the staff at InBark, are pros. They took care to make him comfortable, made efforts to socialize him, sent me videos of him playing with other dogs, and always gave me updates when I came in to pick him up at the end of the day. They made it infinitely easier for me to work without worry. During that time I was unexpectedly sent to my company's California office for three days and I made use of InBark's boarding services. They made it so effortless for me, providing exactly with what they needed to take care of the dog and giving me updates. I have since left Seattle and moved to Portland permanently for work and my dog has the luxury of spending his days in a big backyard again. Regardless, I still opt to take him to InBark once a week. He loves it there and sees it as a treat. I love knowing they take good care of him and give him opportunities to hang with other dogs. read more

My wife already made a review of this place so I was not going to do one myself, but her review didn't make the "recommended" cut (which is dumb and makes me trust Yelp even less). Hopefully my review will make it. Check out the non-recommended reviews. It's not the easiest thing to find but you will see a link near the bottom of the reviews. Our puppy is 9 months old, he is not neutered yet due to Vet recommendation. We came in on a weekend, got a tour and liked the outdoor area. Employees were pleasant. We then saw the sign that said "No unaltered dogs. No exceptions". We understood that, we accepted it. When we told them we would have to come back in a few months due to him not being neutered we were told that regardless of what the sign said about unaltered dogs they could take him. They said they have unaltered dogs that already attend and that they would just keep them separate. Fast forward to the end of our second visit. I was met by a middle aged woman with short hair (description used only to identify the person I dealt with). My assumption from other reviews I have read is that she is the owner. Regardless I had never seen her before. She immediately looked unhappy and honestly, angry. Her look gave me concern before she even said anything. She said they would not allow our puppy to come anymore and that they have a policy and there are no exceptions. I said ok (again we get it) but I did explain that we were told different and it was not our first time there. And I swear I remained pleasant and was only trying to explain to her since she made me feel like I had done something wrong, like I had broken the rules. She said our puppy humped every dog they put him with. I again explained that I was sorry about that and that he had never humped dogs before, even while being taken to the dog park without us. She continued to be dismissive and unpleasant in general. Again not having any desire to argue the ban, I mentioned that we might just bring him back after he was neutered. And this is when things for me really took a turn, she is in a customer service business, it is how she makes her money, the proper response should have been "that would be wonderful! We would love to have him back then". Her response as she is trying to run my card to get her money was mostly nothing. She kind of grunted and then complained that she couldn't read the security code on the back of my card and asked me to read it for her. She seemed completely uninterested in my future business, and because of this, and only this, we will NEVER give them our business again. I am the kind of person who understands the need for rules and will follow the rules. But don't give me attitude because you are wishy washy about your own rules. I will say that after reading all the non-recommended reviews it appears that the owner is just unpleasant in general, many people say it. So I no longer take it personally. But she really needs to rethink what she does and how she does it. read more

Really confused by this place. My husband and I were looking for a place to take our puppy. He is nine months old and not yet neutered at our vets recommendation. We came in on a Saturday to look around and noticed a sign that said unaltered dogs over 6 months were not accepted... no exceptions. We told the gal at the front that our puppy was not yet neutered and that we would come back when he was. She told us not to worry. Even though the sign says that there are no exceptions there are. So the next Tuesday we brought him in. It was a different person working and she said that while they could take him he would be separated from all the other dogs. They said that they would bring dogs in through out the day to play. We picked him up and they said he did great and had no issues. Fast forward to today. My husband drops him off this morning. No one says a word. When he went to pick him up someone who I can only assume was the owner (by reading other reviews) told him that our dog was not welcome anymore. That they do not take dogs unaltered no exceptions. She was curt and unpleasant. They also tried to say that our dog was humping all the other dogs all day. This is really shocking to me considering we have a dog walker that takes him to the dog park twice a week and he has NEVER humped another dog. Here's the deal. You either take unaltered dogs or you don't. I wish that when we first came in they would of just said, "yeah we don't do this". Instead my dog has now been kicked out and my husband treated poorly. Love this place! The first time we took our puppy, he was 3 1/2 months old and they accepted him. The paperwork was quick to fill out and they really just needed a copy of his shot records. He loves playing with big dogs and when they saw him staring longingly at the 3, full-grown German Shepherds in the "big dog area", they let him in to play with them, watching him carefully at first to make sure everyone was playing nice with him. They are a great and attentive staff. My husband usually picks up our little guy from there. Even though we aren't regulars, they still usually meet my him in the lobby with our puppy when they see his car pull up. Grade-A service! read more

PLEASE DO YOU AND YOUR DOG A FAVOR. Never bring them to inbark. I took a tour and brought my dog in and I was in shock. The ratio of staff to dog should be illegal. They said they had 80 dogs that day and I saw ONE person in the park but he was on his PHONE! Not paying attention to the dogs. The staff are awful to the dogs, very very rough. They call them profanity names and treat them like garbage. They are unsupervised and it's not a safe place. The place smells of urine and feces. Yes it's a dog park but this smell was something else. My dog came home yellow. The owner Cindy is very cold. Doesn't care about the dogs there but her own. She was very unfriendly and did not make me feel good about leaving my dog there. Also the so called manager, wouldn't really call that person a manger. The dogs sleep on concrete floor in the back of the building. They have NO AC AND NO HEAT. YOUR DOG WILL FREEZE IN THE WINTER AND DIE OF HEAT STROKE IN THE SUMMER. I take my dog to Inbark at least once a week. I have found the owner to be very responsive and open to feedback. I also think she genuinely cares about the dogs and is constantly trying to strengthen and improve the service. My dog is a very high energy active dog and I checked out several other doggie day cares who did not take the time to figure out how best to include her in day care. She has done great at Inbark and loves to go there. I also think that they have a really good crew of staff now. this is a tough business but I think they are doing fine. I have recommended their facility to others. I have also boarded my dogs there and they did fine. I did notice a bit of an odor there for a while but that seems to be better now and I know it is difficult to keep up with. read more

I'm amazed to notice any reviews of less than 5 stars. Cindy runs this place extremely well and we are regulars. We haven't needed any boarding services, just a few hours during the day. Oliver is known by the staff and most of the dogs know him too. He has a GREAT time. They always give Oliver a great workout and everyone is extremely kind. It's like he's their dog. I will assure anyone, I would NEVER let my dog be anywhere that was not GREAT. This place is GREAT! BUT: Unfortunately, my dog likes to get WET. That's not Inbark's problem, Ollie does that himself. I had totally the opposite experience as the first reviewer. My experience there was very negative, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. The staff and owner were not friendly and didn't go out of their way at all to welcome me or my dog. The staff person in the room with the dogs barely looked up to greet us, then went back to throwing balls for the other dogs. My dog felt very uncomfortable upon entering, being charged by so many big dogs all at once, and no one did anything at all to ease the situation. I ended up not leaving him there, as I didn't get a good feeling about the place in general, and the cold attitude of the staff gave me an uneasy feeling. If 0 stars was an option I would have chosen that DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!!! I took my 6.5 month old Shepard rescue for a 1/2 day to give it a try. My pup was a rescue form Mexico with unknown history of what she experienced. I explained that she has fear of larger aggressively playful dogs and they experienced this when they took her for the temperament test and she peed herself out of fear! I told them I had been working for months to get her more confident and comfortable with other dogs and requested she be in their small/timid section which the young man agreed with during the temperament test. I dropped her off at about 8am and joked with the young woman about having to count out 6 hours to figure out what time to be back. She laughed and instructed me to be back at 2pm. When I walked in at 2:10 the owner very rudely informed me i was over the 6 hour allotment for a 1/2 day and charged me for a full day. Since I was paying for a full day I opted to leave my poor pup there longer. WORST MISTAKE I HAVE EVER MADE When I returned to pick up my pup she was wet and sticky, lethargic and acted like she hadn't had a drink of water all day! I was informed after 2 hours of being in the small park she was put in with the big dogs....even though I specifically requested she not be. I thought maybe she had been doing so well they really thought it was best!!! Given that I was unsure how worn out she would be I chalked it up to a good day of play. Upon getting home I had to lift her out of my SUV because she wouldn't climb down on her own (generally leaps out!), she wouldn't eat, could hardly hold her head up and was limping. My 6.5 month pup limped for 2 days, wouldn't go near the car with me to go for a ride, refused to go anywhere near any other dogs and refused to go to the vet where she normally bounds in with excitement and sits waiting for treats from all the ladies. She refuses to go inside the dog park and has now regressed again to the scared timid rescue I worked with for so long with to build up. I am not sure what happened at this place but I caution anyone who is planning to give it a try to think twice. The young man we met when we went for the temperament test was kind and patient however the owner was rude and abrasive and unfortunately has lost my business as well as the business of anyone who ask my opinion on this place hopefully. read more

I've not been here a few times for the indoor dog park and also to drop my dog off for daycare and I've never been disappointed. The yard staff is always very attentive to what the dogs are doing and are very good at keeping the yards clean. This is the best thing since the sliced bread! Whoever came up with the idea should apply for Nobel Prize :-D Today was our first (and definitely not last) visit. We recently adopted a German Shephard puppy (5 mo) and I started to get worried about how to exercise her in this constant rain! Also I am not a big fan of muddling though the puddles, mud and grim in the dark. InBark seems like a perfect solution! My "puppy" (she does not look like a puppy) got to run and jump around to her heart's content, socialize with other dogs, splash around their "wadding pool" and now is conked out on her bed - not a peep! My initial worry after looking at their website was that they would be too strict with their rules (like the one that says that children have to always to be withing an arm reach of their parents). My 10 year old daughter is my right hand when it comes to the dog care - due to medical condition I can not walk well, let alone run, so she did it all for me and nobody thankfully said "keep your child within the arm reach" :-D Staff is friendly, helpful and reasonable. I stopped by InBark to take a tour as I was looking for a daycare to bring my Lab. The staff was friendly enough, but I was absolutely disgusted with the condition of the building. The place reeked of urine and feces, everything was VERY worn down, and looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. Besides that...they let us walk through all of the dogs! With any daycare you took your dog too, you would assume that you were entrusting the care of your dog with the trained staff that work there. I would NOT be okay with random people coming in and being around my dog. I toured a few different daycares in the area and there are definitely better and SAFER choices out there. I suggest you take your dog elsewhere as I did. read more

Well, I'm a fan of this place! My dog LOVES to play at the park. Usually, we drop him off for day-care, but I like that we have the option to stay and play, too. Not many indoor facilities even let you back where they keep your dog, these days. I'm comfortable leaving my dog here, knowing that he is always supervised and busy. The employees know him by name and sight, even though we are not there every day, or even every week. Also, InBark has the ONLY people who have ever been successful at trimming my dog's nails! (He is super squirmy and hates to have his paw restrained.) A $10 nail trim with these guys is a steal! Every place has its kinks, but I think InBark offers a great service. Do not bring your dog here!! I worked here for a small amount of time and they do not even watch the dogs behaviors and let them do whatever. The employees do not care about your dogs well being. The dogs are left alone when the employees go on breaks. The facility is disgustingly dirty, the mats that the dogs are on all day are soaked in pee and poop. read more

Worst service ever. I was a new customer, went there for my first time, and will never be back again. The customer service is completely unacceptable. I did not feel welcomed by their negative temperament. I was given no details on what their services included after I had told them I was new to the area as well as a new customer. Therefore, I was unaware of the price difference on dog park vs. boarding, so they charged me extra for not even a nice indoor dog park considering there were way too many dogs there for not enough employees to watch over them and the place reeks of urine. My dog was extremely overwhelmed and kept barking by the door to leave. None of the employees were friendly and treated me disrespectfully. I figured at a dog park, the employees would be especially kind. I should never walk into a business and immediately feel uncomfortable and unwelcome while proceeded to be proved right with how they treated me. I will take my dog elsewhere. read more

As the owner of 2 dogs one being a Schipperke and the other a German Shepard I love InBark. After reading some of these negative reviews I had to give my two cents. I love InBark the staff has been nothing other than helpful and you can tell they truly are passionate about the dogs they watch. The smell, really the smell do you expect an indoor dog park to smell like roses all the time? I have been late three times and have seen the staff steam cleaning the turf and play areas. The owner didnt even charge me for being late and was so polite to me. I understand people saying negative things about places but for a dog park InBark goes above and beyond what any of the other dog parks I have used. I have a 2.5 year old son who is very timid and shy, InBark had a Halloween party where all the dogs dressed up and he still talks about it. I hope that this helps some people understand what a great place InBark is-the staff plays with the dogs and has areas for smaller and larger dogs. We adopted a puppy at inbark (through OFASA) yesterday and we actually had a wonderful experience. The owner spent a considerable amount of time with us and the staff were uber friendly (to us and loving to the dogs out there. Our puppy is being neutered today and they even offered to keep it for a night or two in its familiar environment. Very kind. read more

My favorite indoor dog park. The people are very detail oriented and take great care of our two Shepherds.

LOVE this place and I did my research before coming here so I know its top notch. The staff is wonderful, they take the time to know me and my dog. I was taken on a tour my first day and they encourage me to look at my dog play in the park through the windows at the facility. He loves it there! He jumps out of the car as soon as we get there and gives the owner a big kiss. He spends his summer days playing in the kiddie pool they have set up and running around with the other dogs. I can tell the staff truly enjoys their jobs, it shows in how happy my pup is. I feel safe leaving him there. I suggest checking a few daycares out before going to inbark that way you'll know how truly awesome this place is. read more
