I'm new to town and decided to try InBark for the half day option. I don't know if it's me or what, but the owner at the front desk was very short with me and the young lady came out to get my dog, he's a large breed and 10 months old, and immediately threw him to the ground when he jumped up on her to say hello. We are working on the jumping but he's a puppy. I thought it was too rough and it made me uneasy, but I didn't say anything. The owner at the front desk took my info, didn't smile or even make small talk, I asked for a tour of the place and she replied shortly she "didn't have time or staff at the moment." So I actually have not even seen the dog park itself since I did a drop and go for the daycare. I figured I'd see it another time, but again you'd think the lady would have been friendlier about showing me! I said I'd be back in 6 hours. She kind of nodded to me and didn't even make eye contact. Again, really weird. I am not an over friendly person but I thought she could at least look at me! I came back and again, the same weird/awkward interaction with the woman at the front desk, the young lady brought my dog back to me and she also was not friendly. Not rude, but nothing warm about this place or the staff. My dog looked worn out and nervous. I figured he was just exhausted from play. I asked how his day was and the young woman kind of mumbled "good" without any further explanation, so I paid and left feeling uneasy. I should have let my instincts warn me when I brought my dog back the following week for another day of daycare while I had meetings when he really resisted leaving me. I thought I was being sensitive and wanted to give them another chance (also the place was recommended to me by someone and I'm staying in the area, so it's convenient). Again, no smiles, no small talk- nothing from the staff. I was behind a woman checking out in line- 2 of them actually- from over night boarding and both dogs had soars on their noses, when the lady asked why her dog had a nose rubbed raw and bleeding the lady responded "it's from the kennel." I don't know if this is normal for dogs noses to be rubbed raw from kennels. When the lady said, "oh geez, it's really deep," regarding the cut the lady behind the front desk launched into a talk about how her dog has "anxiety." I am not exaggerating about this next part- BOTH dogs had bites on their face and back. Again the customers seemed alarmed, the lady at the desk was very nonchalant and said, "must have been from playing with the other dogs." I have never seen dogs looking so worn out and actually cut and bleeding after an evening of boarding! It was truly horrifying. I'll never go back there. read more

To begin with, I've been very pleased with all the services provided by InBark and at this point I only trust them to watch my dog, either for daycare or boarding. When I initially started looking for daycare and boarding options I looked all over the Portland metro area and was pleasantly surprised that the staff at InBark genuinely cared for the animals in their care. I was shocked and appalled at many of the places I went and the attitudes i.e. the uncaring attitudes and outrageous prices! I think of it as why would you work at a daycare if you didn't like kids? Same thing with animals, and honestly every employee at InBark has a genuine love for animals, and I've witnessed the caring gestures. I've stopped by at random times to ensure that someone is in the park at all times, and I've never witnessed it unattended. When my dog (or any dog for that matter) is boarded they're only kenneled for the evening hours, so I don't have to come home to a traumatized dog any longer! To address the smell, really people do you expect an animal place to smell lovely all hours of the day? If you do, then you're horribly unrealistic and need to manage your own expectations. Yes, in the evening it tends to be a bit more smelly than in the morning, but again there's been dogs playing all day! My dog is very high maintenance and overly attached to me, and InBark is the one place that he goes freely inside and his excitement is sky-high! I could go on and on, but I also know that if I had a concern I could openly talk to the owner about it and she'd be receptive to my comments or suggestions. read more

I came in around 730 on a whim to check the place out and will NOT go back. The woman up front- who I later learned was the owner- was unbelievably rude, she acted like I was bothering her because I asked for a tour. She was very short and standoffish and kept her arms crossed over her chest the whole time we talked. She told me the park was being cleaned (fine) and tried to skip around the tour and most of my questions. What really got me was the smell- and yes, I understand at the end of a day in a dog daycare it will smell like dog, but WOW! The kid who was in the park "cleaning" was using a Rug Doctor- she had just told me they steam clean the turf every night. This was a little plastic rug doctor, you can rent better ones from Albertsons. The turf was pulled back about a foot from the wall AND IT WAS MOLDED!!! Visibly. There was what I hope was dirt on most of the walls and you could hear barking and howling from the boarding area. When we went to see the kennels it was freezing- I saw the thermostat on our way out and it said 58- and none of the kennels, except for one that was loaded with toys and chews, even had beds, just little fuzzy scraps of cloth and half of them did not even have water in their bowls. All of the dogs looked miserable and obviously wanted to come out, she ignored all of them and tried to rush me through- it was obvious she did not want me back there and I felt like she did not want to be giving me the tour. For a place that allegedly caters to dogs, this place had a very cold feel to it and I will not be bringing my dog here. read more

AWFUL customer service. I went to the kennel to see what the place was like a few days before I left my dog there. I needed to board him for Thanksgiving weekend. While they were showing me around, I told one of the people that worked there that my dog was not neutered and she did not tell me anything. When I went to drop him off they told me they could not keep him because he was not neutered. Then we agreed that they would keep him in a kennel instead of in the park with the other dogs and bring him on walks several times a day. After an hour, at 6 pm, they called me saying that they had changed their minds and that they could not keep the dog unless I paid $90 per day, $40 being the normal cost per day. The papers that I signed, didn't mention my dog having to be neutered. And I don't understand how the owner thought it was ok to call me after I left changing the price. She called several times and started screaming at me on the phone, threatening to drop my dog off on my front porch if I did not come get him, all this after agreeing to take him and keep him separated from the other dogs. She obviously did not care about the agreement we made and was extremely rude when I went to pick up my dog. That's not the way to do business. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE...... the owner is so ungodly rude and the manager does not have a clue- it seems like she spends most of her time apologizing for the owner. The owner's son has been banned form the park a few times , and yet I still come at off peak times to find him alone in the park- KICKING DOGS!!!!! apparently thats how he gets his "moms" attention. I dont care who you are, ABUSING ANIMALS IS NOT OK- EVER!!!!!!! I've gotten runaround answers twice now about this kid, and yet the last two times I popped in at off peak times unannounce, he was the ONLY person in the park that is ALLEGEDLY never unsupervised. whatever. Cindy, you dont care about anything except a buck- not even your kid. Get a job that allows for that before someone gets seriously hurt and sues your sorry ass, or calls CPS. I would like to believe in off business hours you might be an attentive mom. I dont, but I will leave the judgement up to someone more qualified to make it. IF YOU DONT BELIEVE MY POST,CALL THE EMERGENCY CLINIC IN TUALATIN AND ASK HOW MANY DOGS FORM INBARK HAVE BEEN BROUGHT IN FOR TREATMENT!!! Please get a clue before another dog gets hurt. read more

InBark is a wonderful facility that really cares about dogs. Our dog has been going there for two years. Do the dogs occassionaly get wet and smell like dogs? Yes, It is after all a dog care facility.If you want to keep your dog smelling like perfume and fluffy: lock em up in acage all day and make them miserable. They have a pool for the hot days which they clean frequently. The fountain is currently off.. Staff are wonderful and are stable long term employees. Cindy, owner, is a sensitive caring and skilled person who will work with dogs that have anxiety issues. After several unsuccessful attempts at day care and boarding at other facilities who would not make an effort, we finally found In Bark..Staff worked patiently with our dog who now bounds in delighted to be there. Dont know what we would do without this facilty. After nearly three years, our dog has never contracted any illnesses, worms, or other typical day care facility woes. I recommend this facility highly. read more

I would never take my dog here again. The employer, Cindy, treats her employees terribly. She treats them so badly I know for a fact they have lost at least 5 employees over only a 6 month period. She is very cold with her customers too, often being very harsh and unprofessional. I and have seen one of the management staff fling dogs by their leash if they aren't walking correctly, causing some dogs to slam into walls. They allow dog aggressive dogs in with the general population, causing many fights to break out. There will be 40+ dogs in the park at one time with only one attendant to watch over them. There is always a constant smell of pee, some dogs are even wet with it and smell terrible by the end of the day. They will never get my business again and they shouldn't be getting yours. read more

I would highly recommend researching this place. For example, do a google search on the owner, Cynthia Crimmel. See if you really want to leave your dogs under her "care" at this facility that has had so many health and safety issues. If you want to tour, do so during the afternoon and see if the dogs look happy and relaxed, or if there is even an attendant in the park. It has been my experience that this facility is completely negligent, which is unfortunate. It would have potential if not for the horrible attitude and utter disregard for their clients. read more

The staff is wonderful, friendly , quick to respond and caring. I feel secure sending my dog here, as I know he has a great time, and comes home almost totally work out ( he has a lot of energy) ! The facility is clean and spacious. The business has grown considerably since I began taking my dog there, and is popular around the dog parks and local neighborhoods. In addition , they hold fundraisers for local animal shelters and foster dogs which is not only admirable but demonstrates a true love of dogs. read more

Today my friend was asked to "take it outside" for breast feeding at inbark, she was told she was inappropriate by the staff, I definitely won't be taking my dog here and encourage others to avoid establishments that don't support breast feeding women. read more

InBark is wonderful. They take great care of the dogs and are especially helpful when dlyour dog is shy or has problems adjusting. I dont know what we would do without them! read more
