We have been using Doggie Style as a groomer for 5 years - 2 years at the Graduate Hospital location and 3 years at the Narberth location. After our experience yesterday, we will never return. The groomer cut our 13 year old long haired German shepherd's nail too close and didn't manage the bleeding. We weren't notified he was cut. When asked, she said it stopped bleeding immediately, but there was dried blood on his paw when I put him in our car and it continued to bleed for 3 hours after. Not to mention they deviated from his normal service, even though it was communicated that we wanted what he always receives. The manager of the Narberth location was not helpful when I called to discuss these issues. Before he spoke to the groomer, he insisted the nail didn't happen under their care, as he wasn't notified and there was no blood on their floor. He suggested it happened on our walk out to the car. Not sure how that's possible since there was dried blood on my dog and fresh blood smeared all over my floor and car for hours after.

I had gone to this location many times before when it was Bow Wow Meow. When I had to pick up some gifts for a friend's dog I decided to stop off at Doggie Style. If you had been there before, Doggie Style is very similar. The layout and merchandise are alike. However, Doggie Style has dogs for adoption. Doggie Style is huge compared to other pet stores. It is like a Costco for dogs. They have a large variety of pet supplies for all sorts of animals including dogs, cats and birds. I ended up picking up a large dog chew and a rope toy. I really like how this place has a dog adoption center. Even better is that they have a variety of dogs. While there I saw what looked to be mostly mutts, but they were cute. If I'm acquiring another dog I would definitely think about adopting from here. The staff here is very nice. They kindly asked me if I needed any help. My main concern was with the lack of reptile and small mammal equipment available. Parking is limited, but I seemed to find a spot. Best of all my friend's dog, Pitch, loved the gifts I brought him. Go follow him on Instagram @PitchTheDog! It was a nice reward for him earning 5,000 followers!

I took my husky Sofia for a grooming. Bring me to Philly, I found this place on Yelp with great reviews. They did not disappoint! I've taken Sofia to many groomers over the years and this was the first time that didn't have lose hair while leaving the place. That alone gives them a 5 star rating. They provide other services as well, I opted to get her nails painted because, well, she's almost a real girl. Plus, after grooming and manicure, she walks with her head high and a pep in her step! I would recommend Spots Spot for anyone with pups that shed throughout the year. Make them your one and only stop for pampering your pooch!

While there your cat was on the counter being groomed and I turned around to let my pup out of his crate in the main room and heard the groomer yell "STOP IT" followed by a loud slamming sound.. I jumped up and turned around and the cat looked terrified.. the groomer nervously started telling me "I've been fighting with this cat all day" along with some other nervous remarks... I'm not sure if he slammed your cat down on the table but to me that's what it sounded and looked like... I would never want to bash a business without fully knowing, so it is up to your own discretion.... Please if you bring your pet there be extra cautious , I for one will never be bringing my pup there again.

To fellow dog parents, I cannot thank this place enough for the care they provided my Great Dane, Mattis, over the past 3 years. Their employees have always been kind and truly enjoy spending time with the dogs. There was always a warm welcome, "Mattis! Hey buddy" before we had even checked in -my dog LOVED going here. The general manager, Antoine, is seriously the nicest and most thoughtful person. Anytime a dog got sick, he'd let us know when and what symptoms to be on the lookout for in our own dog. Mattis would break a nail, Antoine would call me to let me know and what he was doing about it, and then I'd pick Matt up at the end of the day with a bandage carefully wrapped on his foot. He knows each and every dogs' personality, who to separate, who plays well together, when certain dogs need a break inside etc. Antoine, your care, hard work and attention to detail made us immensely comfortable leaving Mattis during the workday, I am so grateful! The owners are friendly and heavily involved, it's common to see them at pickup/throughout the week. My work schedule could be hectic, a few times Matt was the last to be picked up and they were always gracious about it. There's nanny cams of the dogs every day. And my most FAVORITE part, we would get multiple texts/photos of our guy every time he stayed with them. Mattis would get so excited at morning drop off and come home exhausted from a fun day playing with his doggy companions Living in a city apartment and having a fully in-person job can make dog ownership difficult at times, I'm thankful Mattis had a wonderful place to stay and play during working hours. Forever grateful for you all!

I am super grateful to the staff here for taking such good care of my sweet but somewhat anti social dog while I am away, and for always being so communicative about how she is doing and any small issues that arise during her stay. The space is clean, they are strict about capacity, and they do a thorough socialization check prior to allowing dogs to come for boarding or daycare. This past weekend, I had an issue arise where my sitter had to leave town unexpectedly. DoggieVIP absolutely saved the day by allowing my dog to come stay for the weekend on late notice. They answered my panicked texts and calls immediately and took such great care of Fred while I was away. This spot is great about sending photo updates and all reservations can be made via text message, which makes scheduling a breeze. I will continue to use this location and their Riverwalk location anytime I travel. So grateful and can't recommend them enough!

It took me almost a month because First when I took my fur baby there they wanted to charge me the highest package they had without even fully evaluating him. I wanted with it to see if it was worth it because it's his first time here and I have nothing to compare it to. I went a whole day ahead and paid because I didn't want to do the deposit over the phone. The next day Saturday the groomer whom I met before was suppose to be be there get my dog and she wasn't as promised but ok I still went along against better judgement. After having my fur baby for about 6 hours he still wasn't ready to be picked up. We left and returned and he was finally ready. When I arrived my overly friendly dog was not his normal self he looked terrified. Finding out the 'professional ex vet assistant groomer" cut a hole the size of a quarter out my baby's belly area. She then tells me she gave him peroxide and some powder to try and stop the bleeding cause she use to work in a vet office. She also as an apology tried to give me 5.00 back after I paid $65.00, $5.00 was an insult and a slap in my face. I had to take my dog to the vet and have his hole stapled close and he had to wear a cone around his neck and take antibiotics because it get infected. After communicating back and forth with the owner she seem like she was genuinely concerned and offered me a refund of my grooming and vet bill. This post is not about the money it's about the quality of service I received this particular visit. Needless to say I will never take my dog back there again. I found so many small cuts on him later it made me very sad. The groomer has the audacity to say he wouldn't keep still during his grooming ??!!! I'm like yeah if you took a chunk of my skin off And I'm bleeding and you still wanna groom me I wouldn't sit still either. 8/6/19 update, I did receive a check to reimburse me for the fees and also the grooming bill. Although this does not replace my fur baby pain and suffering, it's appreciated in trying to help correct this incident. I will say all the owner attempts were considerable.

I DARE YOU TO FIND A WORSE DOG TO GROOM THAN MOLLY. SKEPTICAL AT FIRST BUT MOLLY GIVES AVERY'S FIVE…read moreBIG WAGS! BACKGROUND OF THE FURRY CLIENT: Molly is a 2.5 year old abused rescue who was shot as a puppy and left in the woods. When I adopted Molly she would not let me touch her prior to adoption. Not once. I was told she had a couple of hours before she would be euthanized. I have this horrible habit of caring for these animals...and so our journey began. Over three months, of persistent "I'm not playing...don't even come near me" Molly was the master of the intimidating growl. I have never been afraid to approach a dog until meeting Molly. She is unsure of strangers, unfamiliar activities, and loud noises - on top of many of the regular fears dogs have with grooming. It took 8 months before she would let me (the human with her daily food ration) to be allowed to even touch her with grooming gloves or a brush. There are many concerns I have had with traditional grooming businesses for Molly: * they are usually loud, even early in the day because of the barking and multiple equipment running simultaneously; * the scheduling is primarily based on business needs more than your pup's requirements because everyone has special request for their baby and they all can't be accommodated; and * often your dog is put in a cage (ok, call it a crate if you must) between when they call you and how fast you can get there. This is true for absolutely every dog salon I have tried with Molly. I have paid for moderate and high end grooming trying to address this dirty dog's needs. Molly and I recently moved to Wayne where there are many places Molly can swim and play in the mud. In fact, it is a daily occurrence for Molly. Makes for a fun doggy day...also makes for one dirty/smelly dog, car, and house. It was turning into an emergency situation actually. I was so happy when I came across Avery's in Yelp. I read all of the reviews and called immediately to schedule an appointment. I was able to get on the schedule within two weeks. The next thing you know, an Avery's van pulled into my parking area and Josie was Molly's groomer. I can't tell you what exactly happened in that van - but what I can tell you is my dog looked fantastic and she was not stressed in the slightest. Normally, when I pick her up from a grooming session, she is so excited to see me. I can't be positive...but Molly might have gone home with Josie (who is now my permanent choice for a groomer). Here is the reality - the service of Avery's is definitely a bit more expensive than a traditional salon. I can tell you for a dog like Molly there will never be a traditional salon so long as Avery's is an option for me. The lack of stress for her, which translates into the lack of stress for me, is worth every penny. I don't know too many dogs that love the grooming experience to begin with - so this helps dogs that don't suffer from anxiety like my girl. I can also say that there is a lot of time saved from going back and forth to the groomer for me. I went back into my condo while Molly was getting all dolled up by Josie, and merely walked outside my building to pick her back up. It was so simple it is a bit ridiculous that everyone with a dog doesn't just take advantage of this type of dog grooming. I make it a point to provide feedback on Yelp because I rely on the feedback of others frequently. I only give honest input...good or bad. I definitely recommend Avery's without hesitation. Just keep your eye out on your pup if you get Josie as your groomer...I think she may be the Dog Whisper of Grooming!
