My big dog Macy hates to get her nails clipped. Katy was so good with her that she didn't even flinch! I never have to worry about how my dogs are being treated. Katy and her mother Tammy are true dog people. I also brought in my little foster pup, Linus, for his 1st nail clip. He did amazing after they let him warm up to them. They did not rush such an important step in this little dudes life. A wonderful woman owed business run by amazing women. We are lucky to have Canine Clippers in Manayunk! read more

Tammy is very knowledgeable about small and large dogs including their coats. You can ask questions and she answers them thoroughly.

Ugh I really wanted to say something nice about this business because my mom has been bringing our family dog here for years and never had an issue but this was the very first time I brought my dog here and I'm sad to say but it's also our last... My dog is a small mixed breed and he's a bit territorial so he takes some warming up but that's besides the point. My baby had an appointment to have his nails cut and came out bleeding all over the place. The ladies assured me that they would never hurt my dog and that these things happen sometimes when the nails aren't cut for a long period of time so that kept me calm but it wasn't until I got home and realized how poor of a job they had done on his nails. Literally looks butchered and half done. I will never bring my baby here again... like just look at his nails... I AM UPSET! NEVER AGAIN--Such a rip off! read more

While I have never taken my dog to this groomer, I live in the area and witnessed a startling situation today. Walking by, there was a gray colored poodle (looking), roughly 15 pounds dog, on the grooming table having their nails clipped. A middle-age woman, with blondish brownish hair, and glasses, was shouting... screaming, really, the dog, so loudly, I could hear it through my AirPods walking by... OUTSIDE. This dog was sitting, and not barking or moving, so what would possess the woman to be so hostile is beyond me. I hope that others heed this warning, and hopefully the owner of the poodle reads this review, and knows to go elsewhere. No animal loving groomer, or person for that matter, would act so viciously. Shame on that woman! read more

Highly recommend, I have a nervous pup and the ladies at CC are so welcoming he's excited to be dropped off for a nice bath and haircut. Very fair prices and high quality cut for my buddy read more

I had taken my dog to canine clippers for the first time on Saturday and they were phenomenal! They were so professional and made my dog look amazing! The staff is fully committed to making the experience for you and your dog pleasurable! I love that they are family owned and their prices are the great, which makes the experience even better! This is the only place I will be taking my dogs, and I highly recommend them to everyone! Thank you Canine Clippers!! read more

My dog hates getting her nails cut. PetSmart won't work on her bc she struggles too much. The vet muzzled her and it took two vet techs to hold her down and cut her nails and I cried because my dog looked so scared. This place. I do not know what magic happened but it appears it took a single woman to cut her nails, and when my dog came out of the back room she didn't seem scared or panicky. Just happy to see me and happy to get pets from me and the woman who had just cut her nails. Very decent price for a nail trim (also I cant believe my dog sat still enough for a nail grinding). I will absolutely be coming back here... that will be the true test- will my dog be scared to go in next time? We'll see. Cash only!!!! The nail trim was just a walk in appointment. I called and they said they don't schedule nail trims, but the girl told me a good time to try and come in that day since she said they were pretty busy all day. I came in around that suggested time, waited about 5 minutes and they took my dog into the back. I was there a total of maybe 15 minutes. read more

Recently moved to the area and they were the only ones with "availability". Gave me a window of 4hours for a full groom. When I showed up after 4 hours my dog was in a cage with a fan blowing into it. Ended up leaving with him after I witnessed an employee dragging him across the floor by a slip leash. He was still wet and they didn't do anything besides bathe him in the 4 hrs. No nail trim, groom, or teeth brush. Their excuse was they had 20 some dogs to do that day... I had him taken to another local groomer and he was in and out in 2 hours. Please don't make the same mistake I did. read more

I have taken my dog here for the last 5+ years. When we first started going there Harley was very scared(big teddy bear rottie). Katy who at the time was bathing the dogs. Made Harley feel right at home with a treat and lots of love. Tammy the groomer at the time did an amazing job with him cutting his nails( he hates that the most). Now after 5+ years of going there Tammy and daughter Katy owe it!!! Harley runs to the door like it's my house! He gets right in the tub for a bath and doesn't mind getting his nails trimmed anymore. They always go above and beyond for all the dogs that come threw that door. You would think all the dogs belonged to them the way theY treat them as their own. I'll never take Harley anywhere else. So happy to see those girls do so well and live their dream! Thanks for making Harley soo good today he was a happy pup when I picked him up read more

I ask for a simple summer cut with a "teddy bear" face. I even showed a picture. I didn't get that. Instead my pup got a standard poodle cut which I don't like because it doesn't fit her. And the cut was choppy. Katy, I believe is Tami's daughter, didn't listen to my request for the style I wanted or to pull the hair out of my pup's ears. Overall the cut seemed rushed and choppy. There wasn't much technique put into the cut. And since her groom, my pup's hair hasn't laid down, smoothly, like it normally does. I gave one extra star because Tami did go back to pull the hair out of my dog's ears when I pointed it out during pickup. Not worth the $60. I'll be looking elsewhere for my dog's grooming needs. read more

Phenomenal. Everything from service to price to place. Nestled in Manayunk, below the train tracks is this gem of a groomer. Consistent, quality cut & cleaning for my 14yr old cockapoo Brooklyn. Very knowledgeable, professional and worth every dollar. Happy I Found a keeper and clipper! read more

I wish all businesses were as wonderful as Canine clippers. I took my basset hound here to have her nails cut, and I will be bringing her back here. My dog is very anxious, and getting her nails trimmed is her #1 least favorite thing. The owner and staff were very helpful and reassuring that they can get the job done without adding any extra stress. While I was waiting, I did not hear my dog yelp, cry, or bark once during her trim. When she was all done, she came out no problem, and her nails looked great! Side note - I just moved to the area, and I didn't realize that Canine clippers was a cash only business. When I told the owner I would need to go to an ATM, he was very kind and trusting, and told me to bring it back later, whenever I got a chance. This kind of hospitality and service is seldom found, and I couldn't have been more greatful that the owner trusted me to bring the money by later. I highly recommend Canine Clippers, and I will be bringing my dog back here! read more

Knowledgable and friendly staff. Always a good experience when you bring your best friend here. Prices are comparable with most groomers in the area however, the personable and friendly atmosphere is worth every penny. Very trustworthy and reliable. Also very flexible when it comes to scheduling your pick up. (Stuck in traffic? No problem ) Highly recommended. Old reviews are based upon old owner. New owner now knows his stuff! read more

I know a groomer is great when my dog gets excited to walk in the door. They are friendly and knowledgeable about appropriate cuts for your breed of dog. They are more affordable than the larger groomers and take the time to speak with you. I am a big supporter of local businesses and they are wonderful to work with. read more

Ed and his staff are awesome! They do a great job with my sheltie every time! They are so friendly and my dog really loves seeing them! I recommend this groomer to all of my clients! read more

I love this groomer. I can always get an appointment. The owner seems to really like my dog, and that matters a lot to me. Also, my dog doesn't tremble when he arrives (like at other grooming places he's been to). And I gotta say, I love that there's a window to the street where you can see the kennels and the groomer working on your dog. I can feel confident that my dog is not being mistreated, yelled at, handled roughly, etc... not that I'm watching the whole time, but just the fact that the window's there gives me peace of mind. Not to mention it's super cute. You can see the fluffies transform! read more

I first chose this groomers because they have weekend hours. They also had decent reviews & were a small shop local to me. The two women I spoke to were both very kind. Unfortunately their techniques were not great. I first noticed many areas of my dog that seemed super choppy and uneven. I thought ok whatever not the best place I probably will not go back. THEN I noticed multiple spots on my dogs skin that were bloody from being cut by the trimmers.... This is something that really really upset me because when they brought my dog out they complemented on how well she did. I know accidents happen. But please acknowledge them. No wonder my sweet girl ran passed me and was pushing at the door to get out... another thing is they have you leave your dog there for 4 hours. At the end of the four hours I went to pick up my girl and she was still drying even came out a bit damp... I never had to leave my dog and passed dogs at a groomer that long. read more

The BEST! Great service, Amazing talent & excellent grooming! We always take our Little dog Snickers here and she comes out looking even more adorable then the last. She actually loves coming here and gets all excited! Most professional and friendly staff in the biz. They treat the dogs with so much love and you can tell they are passionate about what they do ! I have been here twice now to get my dog groomed. The first time took two hours. The 2nd time took 6. Both times my dog's hair was cut to my liking. Much better than petsmart does. The shop smells like dog. A lot! I would rather the dog smell and a good hair cut than a poor cut. Everyone who works there seems friendly and they seem gentle with my dog. I would visit again. read more

Love this place! I swear my pup loves those girls more than me. They care so much for animals and love what they do and it shows. Fred sheds so much hair and it makes such a difference to get him groomed and he prances around for the next week. They will always do their best to fit me in when I want to take him last minute. Your dog will thank you for giving them a little pampering and it's in such a great location there's so much too do in Manayunk while you wait. Thanks ladies! read more

I can't even! Katy and Tammy are the best. Always thoughtful, kind and professional. I won't take my Benny anywhere else!!

I took my boyfriends dog here for a nail clip and bath. I dropped him off at 11am but they werent ready until 4pm. I would have appreciated some kind of update since they had my phone number. It wasnt until I came back that I had to ask where he was that I got an update of 15 minutes. Overall it seemed like he got a good bath and his nails looked nice but maybe a heads up when I dropped him off would have been appreciated. read more

My pooch's cut didn't have any technique. Looked like one shear level was used for a buzz cut.

DOG LOVERS BEWARE!! After nine years of experience with professional groomers, this was by far the worst. Upon arrival in this filthy shop for our 9am appointment, we were greeted with rude and unprofessional behavior. When we asked how long it would take, we were told, "We quote four hours." After the time had elapsed with no word from the shop, we returned to check on our dog. They replied without remorse that "she was not ready" and noted that it would take another 90 minutes because "sh** happens here." After over five hours, we found ourselves over $80 poorer as we headed home with a shaved, thirsty, and traumatized golden-doodle. If you love your dog, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!! read more

I have the most anxious pup in the world, a long haired jack russell-miniature schnauzer mix who has been notoriously difficult for groomers to handle. Tammy at Canine Clippers must be a dog whisperer because Myrtle (that's my dog) was great while there, managable, and happier and calmer than I have ever seen her after a grooming. Kudos to Tammy and Canine Clippers!!! read more

Been taking my dogs to canine clippers for years and have never once been disappointed. I have a dog who is very nervous when being left somewhere other than home, however when I leave her to get groomed here the staff take such good care of her that she feels comfortable being left in their caring hands. The staff is amazing and you can tell they truly care for your pet while they are there. The pricing is very fair which makes the experience that much better. I particularly like that this is a family owned and operated business which is not as common today. If you're looking for a excellent groomer who will take care of your pet like it's their own then canine clippers is the place to go. I reccomend them to all my friends and family who are in search of a new groomer. read more

I took my dog here for the first time to get his nails clipped. I called in the morning to see if there was any availability and was easily able to schedule something for later that afternoon. The entire process went very quickly-- we were done less than 15 minutes after we arrived. Prices were affordable and they gave my dog a treat at the end of the appointment. I will definitely be coming back again. read more

I've been taking my labradoodle there for 10plus years, even left for a while and went back. The love and commitment that the employees have is unmatched. I was fairly bummed when ED left and Tammy and her daughter took over but I could not have been more wrong. Both Tammy and her daughter go above and beyond in the care of my dog. I have brought her in where literally I can't imagine anything but her being shaved and when I pick her up she is beautifully groomed. My dog is at complete ease with them and I love how they perform all their services in front of a window totally open for all to see. Highly recommend them for any dog... read more

Katy and Tammy are great! I take my mini husky, Steel, here for his haircuts and my boxer Lucy for her baths. These pups hate being away from us but as soon as we turn onto Cresson street, their ears perk up because they know where they're going. Steel always looks so fresh when we pick him up. And if you know dogs I'll bet you can just picture the big dumb boxer grin on Lucy's face. They're amazing service, great work, affordable prices are a side note to how much my dogs love them. In my mind, a groomer is only as good as the pet thinks they are and my two give them top marks! I'll never go anywhere else as long as Tammy and Katy are at Canine Clippers. The absolute BEST groomers in the city. Hands down. If you want a place that you and your pet will love, look no further. read more

i have a large labradoodle and they did a great job with the cut, they do nearly every service for dog grooming (they do they butt too!)

First time using this groomer will never go again and will not recommend. Was told the grooming would cost 40 dollars ended up costing 60. I was fine with that but my pup now has bald patches on her chest and back legs. The woman said she had some matting so she might look a little patchy on her chest. I've never seen anything like it. Looks like she was simply too lazy to brush and cut and decided to just buzz it off AND couldn't even get an even buzz. What a joke. read more

They flip flop on everything. Price, consistency of grooming. Need I say more

Today was my Maltipoo's first time at Canine Clippers as we recently moved to the area and I have already decided that we will be returning! Ed immediately made my dog feel comfortable and was super friendly. He answered all my questions and made me feel that my dog was in good hands. As a plus, my dog looks handsome! read more

Had my dog groomed. poor cut and also took about six hours. More expensive than the rest. Will not be going back again.

I took my small dog here for the first time and was dissatisfied with the cut he received. I gave 3 stars for the friendly staff and friendly owner but my dog was left with nicks and cuts on his legs and neck and what looks like razor burns on his body. I felt as if the cut was rushed and it's now irritated. I'm still in the process of looking for a good groomer but will not bring him here again. This place was the only place around me with openings last min. Everyone who's seen my dog's cut noticed how uneven the hair on his ears and face were and the marks on his body, neck and the cut on his leg. If you care about your dog's well being and want someone who will take their time with your pooch, I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

I have a Bichon poodle mix and I needed a haircut for her ASAP. I called this place and luckily they had a cancellation so they took us right in. I am very pleased with the haircut my dog got. And the price was reasonable and most important without any "extra" fees after they are finished. I will definitely come back here in the future! read more

Very friendly and very fast! I only took my dog to get her nails clipped, but I didn't need an appointment and it was very affordable. I have taken my dog(s) here for five years and have always been happy. Laura, the groomer, is WONDERFUL and knows her dogs really well. She caters to their personalities and my two love seeing her. Could be the cookies she gives them, but when we're out for a walk they both try to pull me up to the door! Granted, my dogs don't get haircuts, just bathed/nails/ears, but they are happy when I pick them up and so am I. read more

Wonderful! I was impressed with the availability, flexibility, service and staff. I will definitely take my little pooches back there again.
