Our two Miniature Schnauzers visited yesterday. For me there are two characteristics that are critical in a good groomer. Both are equally important. Of course one is that the cut should be great. These folks achieve that time after time. Next is the stress (or lack of it) that my dogs experience. When I pick them up from Calling All Paws they just don't seem stressed out. If you are a dog lover you know how important this is. In addition to these most important points these folks are timely and friendly with us humans. This place is just the best! We've brought both of our dogs there (a hyper cockapoo and sweet blind bichon) and they've both had great experiences. Unlike other grooming salons, they do EVERYTHING (no "add-ons", the price is all-inclusive). Our furkids looked and felt (and smelled!) terrific when we picked them up. Unfortunately our precious Shitzu was recently injured here. To make the matter worse, no one took responsibility or helped us to understand what happened. He came home yesterday limping. His neck and mouth appeared to be hurting as well. It's the second night now and he is still shaking and not himself. He is having trouble drinking and eating. It's very upsetting to say the least! Our veterinarian confirmed that his mouth is in fact injured and it appears to be from a choker that was probably too large for him. That could explain his neck injury too . Also, several of his nails are cut too short. So much for "Safety First " as we were told over the phone! This is totally unacceptable and we felt compelled to share. read more

First off, this place is a very uncomfortable place to do business. It is very loud and stressful for both me and my dog. I understand that this place takes care of dogs and that dogs do bark. However, it isn't the dogs of the clients that make so much noise. There are a couple of dogs that belong to the owner and employees and they are not business appropriate dogs. They are very territorial. Another reason that it is loud is the one lady that works there has to be the loudest talker I have ever met in my life. I really wanted to shove a sock in her mouth. Secondly, they only know one cut. Every dog that I saw there had the same cut. We asked to have our dog cut like Toto from the Wizard of Oz, and yes, she is the same breed, a Carin Terrier, so it is not a bizarre request. Well, they screwed that up, no skirt and no lion head. We also asked them to express her glands, we don't think they did it, even though they charged us. When we got the dog home she continued to drag her bottom on the ground. Finally, when I picked the dog up, they just passed the dog over the counter, probably because their large, territorial dogs that stay behind the counter would have eaten my little girl. C'mon, really? I gave the dog to you on a leash you should return it to me on a leash. And to ask me to pay in full for a job you didn't do properly. Shame on Calling All Paws. All in all the chaos of this place was too much. I will never return again and I hope that this review will deter you from going there. read more

I really wanted to support a Havertown business and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt! I wish I trusted my gut but hope I can save someone else from an awful experience! My dog has high maintenance hair ( I get that). This was my first dog so I trusted them for guidance... My dog was there about 6 times. Two times she got a "puppy cut", two times she was shaved, once a clean up, and maybe once fully cut! All times it was the same price and I have no proof of what services were actually performed! I truly believe they hate grooming and set you up to have your dog shaved. After my dog was shaved the first time I started going more often and chose one time to only have her cleaned up. Six weeks later I went in fully knowing her fur was ready for a cut. I walked in, Daniele said we gave her a surgical shave so she only needs to be cleaned up! I was confused by this but TRUSTED her opinion. I discussed her nails and explained they never seem cut. She wrote stuff on my card and that was that! She looked cut this time but her nails were still tapping on the floor and within a week she was matted. I emailed about the matts. I was told per my request she was only cleaned up and they were fully booked for the rest of the month. I started faithfully brushing her and working on the matts. I thought she would be okay and was going to give them a final chance! Fast forward to last week. They immediately called to say she needed to be shaved. I was trying to offer suggestions and was told to pick her up or get shaved. I heard Danielle in the background say "get her off the phone". I allowed her to be shaved but I regret not picking her up! Now I realize all places are not like this!!!! I am so disappointed and upset that I trusted them! Danielle was nowhere to be found at pickup and my baby girl was sitting in the corner shaking!!!!! Please do not trust this place!!!!!! read more

She has gone to a variety of other local groomers, and this one was the fastest, most reasonably priced, and best looking of all her haircuts. I will definitely be taking her back! I've been taking my Wheaten Terrier here for about a year and have been very happy! The owner has two of her own - mine always looks great after a grooming here. There never seem to be too many dogs there at one time - they do a good job of scheduling and keeping to it. The dogs are not caged while there; they can be social when they're not on the table. I first found calling all paws because I have an elderly cat that I'm not comfortable leaving at a groomers for the day. She gets incredibly upset. Calling all paws was the only groomer that would allow me to wait while she was getting groomed so that she wouldn't have to stay there for the day. I have since started taking my Cavalier King Charles there and the owner literally kisses and hugs him every time he is there, and if he seems scared she will sit with him on her lap. I have been bringing Oskar here for over 5 years and since Christian has taken ownership the service has increased tenfold. The business is top notch and I would not take my dog anywhere else. He is one of the only people who can cut his nails and today he groomed him perfectly. He was bathed, and actually dry when I came to pick him up! The previous owners never dried him. Last week, I brought my grandpuppy, Jade, in to have her anal glands expressed. We had never had this done before and I was anxious as I wasn't sure how Jade would respond. She is an 85 lb. pit bull mix and can be a handful. I worried needlessly. As usual, Calling All Paws did an outstanding job. Christian was in total control from the minute we walked Jade through the door. She was calm and cooperative throughout. He expressed her anal glands and clipped her nails in no time. I've been using Calling All Paws for 8 years and they have always done a great job with my 2 Cotons. Danielle is a very compassionate person. After my older Coton, Lola, had spinal surgery for IVDD, today Danielle fit Lola in for a hygiene cut and allowed me to stay and assist. The chaos and unprofessionalism was unprecedented. My experience was horrid, rushed, and complimented with despicable comments from the woman at the front desk. I was pleased to hear that this shop is under new ownership, but they still have the same groomer (Chris). Chris is very talented and always does a fabulous job with my dog. My dog used to hate going to the groomers before I started bringing him to Chris. I was curious to see what our experience would be with the change in ownership, and I was pleasantly surprised to see many positive changes (such as a clean, fresh look, and a sweet woman running the front). In the past, I often felt as though I was bringing my dog for Chris's talent, but was forced to deal with an unpleasant customer experience from the old owner (cannot remember her name). Eddie is a rescue dog, so we don't really know what his previous life was like, and he can be high strung at times. The staff handles Eddie perfectly! He always looks great, and they are happy to cut him different ways and lengths depending on my request. The owner has either an anger management problem or is bi-polar. After a few years of going here and being very happy with the grooming my dogs were given, the owner became mean toward my dogs. She yelled at one for going to the bathroom on her floor (mine could not have been the first!) and she yelled at me for coming in less than 5 minutes late for an appointment. She later was heard muttering to get my dogs out of there! My dogs are not loud and do not bark much so I have no idea what was upsetting her. And besides, she should be able to cope with dogs behaviors given her choice of work. They do give nice haircuts but I would NEVER trust this woman with any pet of mine again. I've moved to a groomer in Ardmore and am thrilled with them. read more

I've been taking my Maltese to Calling All Paws for over three years and have never had a bad experience. The folks that work there are extemely friendly albiet usually very busy grooming dogs as you walk in. My little guy always comes home looking and feeling great. No traumitized doggy here. Their prices seem in line and competitive. I have on ocassion tried other local groomers but I always come back to CAP! I will say that it can be tough to get an appointment quickly with these guys. That suggests to me that they are busy with repeat customers. Usually I leave a message reguesting an appointment and they follow up by the next day with an appointment time a week out. I think they are very competent and would highly recommend these groomers for your furry best friends! read more

Now that this has been taken over by new owners, it is even more wonderful!! Christian does the most beautiful grooming. I have been taking my cockapoo here for years and he looks beautiful every time I pick him up. The dogs do not sit in kennels while they wait. My dog had been lost for six days at Wissahickon Creek and when we found him I called immediately on a Sunday. Danielle called me back that day because she knew he had been missing and how frantic I was. She told me to bring him in first thing the next morning so they could take care of him. He was very frightened and shaking but they were so good to him!!! They found 12 ticks and spent a long time cleaning him up. THEY DIDN'T EVEN CHARGE ME AND SAID IT WAS ON THE HOUSE because of what we had been through!!!!!!!! Don't go to the fancy Main Line places- make sure to go to Calling All Paws!!!!!!! Best groomers ever. I have allergies and I took my mom's cat to "Calling All Paws" for a shampoo and shave before bringing her home to my house. She arrived from my mom's with big time fleas, and Danielle could not have been nicer about de-fleaing her as well as grooming and shaving. What a wonderful job Danielle did. Now Cali has gotten another shampoo and shave, and looks as sweet as ever. Shaved cats are mighty cute (at least they are after being at Calling All Paws!) I cannot say enough good things about this bis., and I thank them so much for taking such wonderful care of the apple of my mom's eye. Cali has come back from being groomed happy and untraumatized. That is not easy with a cat. You can actually see some of the dogs being groomed from the waiting area and their tails are wagging I would recommend this staff anytime, anywhere, to anyone. read more

My dog started crying with bilateral hip pain a few hours after leaving the facility. He also had a 1" opening on his skin. I called Calling All Paws a few days later and still have not received a phone call. I'm heartbroken about the amount of pain my poor dog is in. read more

Awesome experience! We've been coming for 10 months now and Calling All Paws is the only place beside our vet who is willing to trim our 'psychotic' cat's nails. They aren't put off by all her growling - they know she's super anxious so they work very quickly. She stays in her carrier until they are ready and then one staff member holds her "pointy side out" while the other trims her nails and before she can lose what's left of her mind she is back in her carrier with treats. In and out the door in under 10 minutes. Plus all the dogs in the grooming room are happy - no one whining on the table or trying to run away. They have to be good with animals to have so many happy dogs in there! Makes me wish I had a dog to bring them :-) read more

We've been taking our dog here for ages but won't any more after I was accused of animal neglect and not feeding him! I took him to our vet immediately after and found he has pyoderma which is common in dogs, and has been losing weight due his advanced age. She even called the animal warden! I left a detailed message asking for a return call for more information and to schedule my pet, but they never got back to me. Have been taking my dog to Calling All Paws for about a year. Very happy until now. Called last week to make an appointment and had to leave a message. The owner called back and we scheduled a date. I got home and realized that I could not do that date. I called back and left another message that I could do the very next day. The owner called back and stated that she got my message and to consider this return call a confirmation for my new date. When I arrived for my appointment, of course she had me down for the wrong date. She then proceeded to be so rude to me and told me that I had the wrong date. I offered three times to reschedule, but she ignored me and would't speak to me. She fake smiled and said I could come back in 4-5 hours. ( I never should have left my dog there but I did). When she called me to come pick up my dog she was pleasant on the phone so I figured she was just having an off morning. When I arrived to pick up my dog, as the owner was carrying her she yelled at my dog "OUCH STOP IT". Then told me to be careful her nails were sharp. I will never go back here. First of all I have never felt more uncomfortable as I did today and secondly NOBODY yells at my dog. A previous reviewer got it right. Its almost as if shes bi polar. read more
