My wife and I have been using Doggie Diggs for our little pup since he was 3 months old (he is now almost 8 months old so we have been using Doggie Diggs for 4-5 months). When we got him, he was a small 2.5 lbs Pomeranian and so we were super worried about putting him in daycare due to him being so small and fragile. We wanted to ensure that the daycare we were taking him to was clean, that all dogs were kept up to date on vaccinations, and that the staff knew how to socialize a new pup in a safe manner. We were beyond ecstatic to find Doggie Diggs which is a daycare specialized in small breeds!!! Candace and her team have been beyond amazing in caring for our little pup. From the get go, Candace was very purposeful about her methods for introducing our pup to the rest of the Doggie Diggs pack and making sure he was socialized safely. She continues to keep us up to date when our pup stays for daycare with pictures and text updates. We love seeing our pup interacting with all his friends at daycare! My wife and I both work in a hospital and have odd hours and she even introduced us to people who can watch our dog when we are working night shifts or when we have to come into work before daycare opens. We have had such great experiences at Doggie Diggs over the past 6 years, with 2 small dogs always excited to have a doggy day care or spa day. Candace and staff are always so nice to our pups, they love going. Chico started going at 12 weeks old, to learn to be around other dogs, he is very social, and great with other dogs from this early socialization. We love the concept of daycare all day when boarding. Super friendly staff, Candace is amazing and Taylor was awesome, responded promptly to my text, checking in to see how it was going. She even sent a picture of our pups having fun! We had them groomed while they were there and they did a perfect job! I'm confused and hurt by my experience here. I picked up my dog on her 3rd day and asked if she was being social--the owner said mostly just with people. The owner said, "She's not mean to the other dogs," and I casually replied, "Oh, are the other dogs mean to her?" The owner then told us not to come back b/c it was so offensive that I thought she would have mean dogs there. I never thought that she had mean dogs there!! It was just a casual question in conversation. I tried to explain that I wasn't worried about that and apologize for offending her, but she wouldn't listen. I assume they didn't want my dog there for some reason, but I wish they had just said it wasn't a good fit or that she wasn't having fun, instead of making me feel terrible about an innocent comment and telling us not to come back. read more

I've recently started taking my dog to Doggie Diggs for the past couple months, and I have nothing but amazing things to say! As someone who works full-time with extended hours and has an only dog, I couldn't leave him alone all day. As soon as I started taking him to Doggie Diggs, he has come out of his shell so much, and I love how it's a small dog only day care. He begs to come every day (even on weekends), and it makes me feel so good that he's having such an amazing time with his friends and such amazing staff! I am a student at TCU and with my crazy schedule during the day there isn't much time to play with my puppy! When I took my dog here I immediately felt comfortable that she was in good hands! Charles, my Italian greyhound, and I absolutely love Doggie Diggs! The staff and owner are friendly and very attentive. I bring Charles to Doggie Diggs a few days a week for daycare and have let him sleepover twice when I've gone out of town for work. Charles gets lots of time outdoors to run around and play with his buddies during daycare, but spends the hot afternoon indoors in the A/C. Every time that I pick him up he's tired from all the fun he's had! I really appreciate all the communication I get from the staff and owner as well as the indoor and outdoor webcams. Furthermore, since every dog has to pass a temperament test, I'm sure that Charles is safe from ill-mannered bullies. I highly recommend Doggie Diggs. They've made my life a lot easier. read more

You wont find a better place to bring your fur babies for daycare, boarding, or grooming. The owner, Candace, is very hands on, conscientious and caring and so are her staff members. My "boys" LOVE to go see "Auntie Candace" at daycare. If I leave them for boarding, I feel so confident and comfortable they will be well cared for and I can enjoy being away without worrying about how they're doing. Candace will regularly send pictures to keep me posted on how the boys are doing and I LOVE getting pictures of the puppies when I'm at work as it always brings a smile to see them playing with their "friends" and just reassuring in general. Candace and staff are very responsive and easy to access with messaging. They are accommodating for last minute put ups if you have to go out of town unexpectedly. I just really am so thankful that I found Candace and Doggie Diggs. I didn't even know how much me or my puppies needed this form of support in the way of information and help and socialization until I found them. My dogs are well socialized, get along well with all other dogs and really love all people. I just LOVE them and I think you will too. read more

After reading several positive reviews on Doggie Diggs' website, I was looking forward to having my dog attend daycare there. I spoke to the owner, Candace, over the phone to arrange my dog's temperament test prior to potential enrollment. When I arrived, I was greeted by Candace and two very noisy dogs. I expect dogs to bark, they're dogs after all, but considering these dogs were in "training" I was a little surprised that neither Candace nor the trainer corrected this behavior. I was hoping to get a tour of the facility, but Candace only let me peer through the window to see the dogs in the indoor space (a concrete floor without any cushions/pillows that I read about on their website). She seemed guarded and did not volunteer to let me see the outdoor space or boarding facility. After asking me a series of questions about my dog, it became clear to me that Candace was seemingly looking for ways to tell me my friendly, 17 pound beagle would not meet her criteria. There was an edge about her throughout this process and after my entire 5 minute visit, she told me to leave because "I rubbed her the wrong way", "was coming at her", and "telling her how to do her job" among other things like dropping a line about "doctors and lawyers" as clients (though she has no idea what my profession is). I felt very misjudged and found her behavior to be unprofessional. I think the temperament test isn't as much about the dogs as it is the humans since she never greeted my dog. Aside from being taken aback that she kicked me out, I was surprised to hear her say that she "doesn't take bad dogs...it's not worth $20/day." It saddens me that she views dogs as bad, especially given that she runs a dog daycare and boarding business. Unless you have a teacup breed which she seems to favor, I would not consider bringing your dog here. read more

I had a bad experience here, but I'm sure it's possible for you to have a good experience here. My dog (pug/lhasa apso, around 20lbs, 6 months old, rough, but not mean), came here for daycare and training. My dog was at Doggie Diggs from November - January and I thought I was happy with the care my dog was receiving, he was tired when he came home at the beginning and I was getting good reports from Candice and the girl who was there after 5 (sorry, can't remember her name!) and they all acted as if all was well. Eventually, he stopped being tired, but I thought it was because he was getting used to it. In the middle of January, the dog trainer Candice works with (Tess) asked me if I would come in to meet with her. Tess told me that my dog had never been integrated into the pack of dogs and was only allowed to play with one dog at a time. Tess, who was supposed to be training my dog, at Candice's request, told me that they couldn't handle him and maybe it would be best if I stopped going for 2 full days a week and brought it down to half of a day a week. So, I'd been paying Candice $18/day to keep my dog separated from other dogs and in a kennel more time than I was ok with and being lied to about how he was behaving at daycare. They never communicated this to me until we were three months into this and Tess's method of communication was rude and ineffective (if you're thinking of using her to train your dog, I'd think twice...she's my next review). It was also strange that Candice wouldn't participate in this meeting. First, I do not understand not being able to handle him. He is a dog, they are people. Second, dogs usually sort it out between themselves and are OK together, but clearly these dogs were never given an opportunity to teach my dog how to behave around them or play with him. Third, the least they could have done was keep me up to date with how it was going rather than just saying that he was good all the time. I love him, so obviously I believed them. I think the main problem, other than a huge lack of communication, is the staff/management. I think Candice wants what is best for all of the dogs in her care, but is unable to provide it. It seems like there is only ever 1 person there at a time and they aren't in the room with the dogs, they're in the lobby/training area. The lack of communication was disturbing, given that I'd been paying for my dog to play and interact with dogs while I was at work and he wasn't getting to do any of these things. I also had to hear this secondhand, from Tess, rather than from the owner, Candice. I asked for a refund on the days that my dog did not get to use at the daycare and Candice took care of it quickly for me. Candice is very nice, but if you're looking for a professional daycare where you can be sure someone is watching your dog and that you aren't being lied to about your dog's interactions with other dogs, etc., I'd try Spa Paws. read more

Our Border Terrier puppy, Bodie, started attending playcare at Doggie Diggs when he was around 6 months old. Candace and her staff have been so welcoming and professional throughout the whole process. They work hard to make sure all their client's furbabies are well cared for and comfortable. She has even sent home Bodie's favorite toys so he could play with them over the weekend! The staff all go above and beyond to make sure that the dogs have fun and their humans are happy too.
