SHAME BASED GROOMING I've been taking my dog here for over a year as she has been temporarily living with my mother who has recently declined. After recurrent ear infections, the groomer went out of her way to shame the process not knowing my dog's medical history, treatment process or living situation. Although she likely comes from a good place, it is unnecessary to put owners through guilt. I shared this story with my mother which made her feel worse. Also, now cash pay. NOTE: The negative experiences under these reviews are not as concerning as the owner's responses and lack of accountability. Business 101. read more

First-time customer. I brought my senior dog, Scout, to Doggie Avenue for grooming. He is old, has weak hind legs, and is wobbly on his feet. Needs special, delicate care. The staff was very friendly, caring, and welcoming. Listened carefully to my concerns. The store was quiet and calm. They treated Scout gently and gave him the best grooming he's had in years--better than a mobile groomer. I feel great knowing I have found the best place for my dog. read more

I have a 17 year old shih tzu who absolutely hates being cleaned or groomed anywhere near her face. She has no teeth, so her wet food tends to get all over her face. I admit that I didn't maintain her grooming very well. I started looking up places that specialize in grooming elderly dogs like mine. Doggie Ave took such great care of my dog. And gave me a pretty stern talk about being more consistent in her grooming routine. Though I felt guilt, this showed me how much Doggie Ave cared about the well-being of my dog. I can't imagine taking her anywhere else for as long as I have with my old lady pup. read more

I am so grateful for Doggie Avenue and Belen. I've tried several different groomers in the area since moving to Burbank 5 years ago and I can honestly say that Belen is the BEST! I have a 15 1/2 yr old Yorkie and I tend to worry a lot about him in his older age. Especially because he's got skin issues. Lumps and bumps all over him. I don't know how Belen does it but he always looks GREAT after his grooming! No razor burn, no knicks etc. The peace of mind that Belen and the staff give me is worth everything! I always know my dog is in safe hands! Thank you Belen and thank you Doggie Avenue! B and Steve read more

My husband and I are currently fostering our senior neighbor's dog while he's in the hospital, and we wanted to get the pup cleaned up with a good grooming session. The only problem is he's a very nervous dog and he tends to bite people he doesn't know when he's scared. We weren't sure if we would be able to get him groomed because of this, so we decided to walk into Doggie Avenue one morning with the dog and see what the workers suggested. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and they were able to groom the dog on the spot as long as he wore a muzzle. We were totally fine with that, and we were so appreciative that they were able to give him a good bath, nail trim, and haircut. He feels so soft, and he looks absolutely adorable! They also called us to let us know exactly when he would be ready for pickup, so he didn't need to go into a cage after the grooming session. They really treat animals well here. Thank you again, Doggie Avenue, for your kindness and hard work! read more

Instead of talking over me- LISTEN. Look at the picture. Don't do the complete opposite of what I wanted. So frustrating. Don't cut deep around the eyes. They cut deep around the eyes don't cut the top of his head. They cut the top of his head. Don't give him the round face with the V chin. They give him the round face with the V chin. And then blame me for not being satisfied No I won't be back. Oh and now the owner who I've never met is going to justify rather than taking responsibility. Read her response. Blame the customer. Also they once made an appointment for Monday at 1:30. I showed up and it turned out they're not even open on Monday. Did they apologize? Nope. read more

I've been a patron of Doggie Avenue for about 13yrs now. I have moved away from the Burbank area and still choose to drive my girls there for grooming. Belen did our favorite cut on our yorkie (who has since passed) and helped us figure out the cut we like on our maltipoo (it's not a traditional maltipoo cut). She knows us so well, that when we got our rescue pup she knew exactly what kind of cut we'd like. Their cuts are always consistent. Our doggos get so excited when they see her, we have no problems leaving them for their grooming. Highly recommended read more

I have been going to Doggie Avenue since they opened, and they have only gotten better. Belen is the BEST groomer and the only person I am comfortable leaving Lulu with. Lulu is a rescue and very nervous, but Belen is patient, takes her time, and makes her feel safe. The new location is great; it's easier to park and get in and out of. They have also improved their scheduling; Lulu is in and out very quickly and always looks great, even with being so wiggly! read more

I have been bringing my Japanese Chin/Pekingese, Komi, to Doggie Avenue for over 4 years and they are so wonderful! Another gold star in my book! I've been here twice and each time, the grooming is impeccable, the products they use on my pup does wonders for her coat and she smells wonderful for nearly a week after grooming! I had been looking for a solid groomer, since those pet stores with grooming services are very whiney about which dogs they want to groom so I've stopped taking my dog to these types of places, and I think I've found it! Will be scheduling my pups next grooming soon enough! read more

this review is late but it still bothers me that my dogs hair is ruined forever so I thought I would finally write a review on it. I brought my in dog for a groom, I gave specific instructions about how I wanted the haircut, I had before photos where I explained I wanted the over growth to be trimmed and thats all. When I picked him up he was shaved... To give some background he had golden retriever textured hair so I was extremely shocked to say the least. Having worked at a grooming/ dog daycare I knew that if you shave a dog with long soft hair there is a chance that it will change your dogs hair texture (making it thicker). I hoped that since it was his first and only time being shaven it would grow back normally, but that was not the case. He now has thick white hair with a texture similar to that of a chow chow. His hair would take a while to grow the white hairs but now it just grows white and thick all over even when it's only an inch long. The groomer didn't say they shaved him due to matting fyi (again I know that can be the case for dogs who are extremely matted, but he wasn't) anyhow I just wanted to leave this review, but staff were very friendly and I understand mistakes happen, this one just happened to be permanent! read more

The last time I brought my dog here was probably about 2 months ago because I wash my dog very two weeks until his hair gets a little longer for a shave. I didn't see Will at the time, but a girl took my dog away when I dropped him off. She didn't seem customer service oriented. I have worked in sales over 30 years and I smell a good CSR. I learned Will, the most efficient customer service guy, left and moved out-of-state. *Gotta love Will* I called to leave a voicemail last Thursday for an appointment. Usually, I get a call back in the same day. I was at an appointment when I noticed I finally got a returned call which I obviously couldn't answer. No voicemail. Given the benefit of a doubt in their customer service, I returned the call. The voicemail was full. Need I continue? I'm not giving this review a one star because the person who groomed my dog was Belen. She deserves the star. read more

I've taken my dog here a couple of times. It's an okay place for grooming, and the pricing is reasonable if you're in the Burbank area. Depending on who you speak to, the staff can be a little rude. I observed a poorly handled conversation from an associate to a customer. The review here is for customer service and the "amazing" replies the owner gives to the people that leave negative reviews. She comes across as pretty condescending. There are positive reviews that she replies to that say the only thing that matters is if her customers are happy, then the negative review right after the positive review is her rudely responding purely from emotion on her end, not taking the time to understand her customer and diffuse the situation (just a little bit hypocritical). From what I've read and observed in person, the business can do no wrong, and all of the unhappy customers lack common sense, and according to the owner, need to enroll in a 100-level college course if they aren't satisfied with the service lol. I think the owner needs to enroll in customer service 101... Actually, not sure if that is really a class. Maybe she should enroll in Communication or Psychology 101... lol. read more

Doggie Ave is the best! I originally started with my Maltese Sophia about 12 yrs ago when their location was on Magnolia - from her first groom to her last, and now on Victory, with my Maltipoo GIGI. Always excellent care, and I trust Belen completely. Belen has been her groomer from day 1. She has instructed me on certain care for these tiny puppies and will cut and shape whatever I ask for. I have tried several groomers in the past, but, Doggie Avenue have consistently been the absolute best in town. My dog, Charlie, was a rescue and very skiddish around strangers, especially groomers. I had a few who wouldn't even take him to cut his hair. But, Belen, the amazing groomer, was able to control him and teach him how to be pampered. The staff has always been patient with Charlie. The bathers do a great job, always consistent, and know Charlie by name. And, the new staff up front are kind, considerate, and friendly. Now, Charlie LOVES being left at Doggie Avenue, and he's always full of smiles when I pick him up. I always tell my friends with dogs to go to Doggie Avenue. They actually care enough to make sure every pet, and their owner, leaves with a smile. read more

0/5 star review. I have a toy poodle. I told them teddy bear cut and to leave the fur long. Instead they gave my my dog back completely shaved and did not trim down the nails. There are bald spots on her paws and uneven hair cut on legs. She has a superficial cut on her area down there. I am not impressed by this place. And i am disgusted they would give me my dog back and ask me "isnt she nice" i told them no. Do not go here. Quality of care is terrible here and prices have increased. Do not go here. read more

Have no fear, Doggie Avenue is here...for your pet! We have taken our labradoodle puppy (Ozzy) to numerous groomers but we are so happy we found this one! To start, the staff is exceptionally welcoming and warm. Their boutique is adorable. The staff was very good with welcoming Ozzy, as he was obviously nervous walking into a new place. But that was no match for their staff's warm welcome with treats and lots of love. We asked for a simple wash along with a nail trim and a few custom requests. They truly went above and beyond. As tricky as our dog's hair can be, they nailed it and they will definitely be seeing Ozzy again soon. We are ecstatic to have found this groomer and would recommend to anyone. read more

Great spot for dog grooming. I just adopted a small dog from the shelter and he needed a hair cut. I Called Doggie Ave, the person that answered the phone was very friendly and quoted a price that was very fair and in line with a couple of other places that I called. I looked for a groomer in my area of Sherman oaks or North Hollywood but many places didn't answer or were closed on Monday. I choose doggie Ave in Burbank Luckily for me they had a cancellation and were able to fit me in that day. what sold me was when I came in, I was greeted so nicely. Im a new owner to a long hair dog so this is a new experience for me. It was a pleasure to have someone really listen to what I wanted done to my new dog. They called me just as my dog Sammy was finishing so that he wouldn't have wait in a cage too long. The hair cut shave that I asked for came out awesome!! THANKS! Nice facility, clean smelling, beautiful store with cute dog apparel and toys. I will definitely be back. read more

I took my baby, Chanel, here for grooming for the first time and had a very positive interaction and vibe. They were sweet and kind. My poor pup has been cut a few times by other careless groomers in the past so she gets scared when being groomed now. I made them aware of this and they were very open and considerate of all the information and her past experiences. When I took her they helped to psychologically condition her to know that she will come back to me, by taking her and walking away then back and given back to me. There was so much thought, and I truly appreciate it. Usually when I would get her groomed, she would come home and be upset, even after mobile grooming. To my pleasant surprise, Chanel was not upset at all when I picked her up. She looked beautiful and was happy! Plus, they have great clothing and accessories in the store! read more

Let just say do not take your dog here if you have a Yorkie because sadly my dog just got his hair BUTCHERED this hair cut is terrible unfortunately. And Will was very unpleasant and lacks social communication skills. This place is probably not worth your money. Better find somewhere else. It is really strange that the owner has a yorkie but the stylist at her location can't do a yorkie cut or they just hate me dog. i will attach pictures to provide it. Hi Donna, since your replied to me made no logical sense i would like to let everyone know you are trying to make an excuse for the very poor grooming job. Why would tell a groomer to avoid cutting the hair on the face of my dog make them cut it and cut it so badly. So Donna, i would like to say you make ABSOLUTELY no sense. Belen must have butchered my yorkie ears and face because she wanted to. How could asking to avoid cutting the face hair result in the horrible cut ??!!!!!!!! Tell me why belen made my yorkies ear so uneven and choppy???!!!!! Listen this is one issue you are so wrong about. Your groomer messed up and butchered my yorkie and you can't make a logical excuse lady so back off and accept that your groomer sucks or has an issue with my yorkie Donna. And now my dog can't see and has more vision problems so thanks !!! Biggest waste of money!!!!! Accept it Donna your groomer sucks or wanted to take anger out on my little dog, what jerks!!!!! read more

First of all Donna, discount was never asked for; it was offered to us by Will "back the blue" and Veterans' discount, because Will found out my boyfriend is a Veteran. Stop finding excuses for DA, everyone can see the comments on this app before and after Will was there. As far as my behavior being erratic, look up the definition for "erratic" before you write it in your replies. Doggie Avenue - Happy pup after fresh cut! - Pet Groomers Near Me - Burbank, California

This is a tough review to write, given the 9 years of dedicated patronage I gave this business, bringing them my 2 very sweet and well behaved dogs to be groomed regularly, throughout the pandemic and when things were tight for me. One of my beloved dogs passed away, and I still brought my remaining dog religiously. The owner, Will, always fit us in, and if he saw that he missed my call when I called to make an appointment, he would call me back the same day. Before the pandemic, he would actually drop my dogs off at my office for me when they were done being groomed! Then I got another dog, who was a puppy and obviously not as well behaved as my others were because, well, HE'S A PUPPY. I brought him as soon as he had the shots required to go to a groomer. When I went to pick my dogs up, it was like I had committed a sin. I got scolded by the groomer that had groomed my dogs the entire course of their lives, and was told by Will that the groomer "never loses her patience" so this was a "rare case." I was told I needed to bring the puppy in every 2 weeks and comb him every day. So I did just that. He's a puppy, so yes, he bit at the comb. Then I did this crazy thing: I let him chew on something while I combed him. And I'm not even a professional groomer. When I went to pick him up after his groom two weeks later, there was a new person I hadn't seen before, and she told me that my dog had been "naughty" and that this would be the last time they gave me a discounted rate, since the groomer hadn't been able to finish him. So next time it would be full price. I really didn't want to switch groomers, because my other dog was comfortable there, so I thought maybe I would bring the puppy elsewhere. So when I called on a Tuesday to ask when I could bring my other dog in, I was told they were booked until Saturday. Never in the 9 years I had been taking my dogs there did I have to wait more than a couple of days to get my dogs in. At that point, I texted Will, because he always told me to text him if I needed an appointment (although I never had up until that point). Apparently Will was / is no longer there and moved out of state. After dedicated patronage for that long, I really would have expected a heads up. I no longer take my dogs there, and our new groomer, Mary's Pet Salon in Thousand Oaks where I live, gives my dogs the most adorable haircuts! Oh, and she doesn't have any issues with my puppy. Because she's a dog groomer! read more
