This review is long overdue. I think I've been taking my dog, Ace, to Kai for about 5 or more years. After he got a hemorrhage in his eye from one of his first grooms at a local pet shop, I knew I had to take him to someone who knew what they were doing. Kai is just magic! I don't know how she does it - but somehow she successfully clips Ace's nails even though he'll try to take my hand off if I even TOUCH his paw! Thank you for everything that you all do. We've been using Seusspup Pet Grooming for about 4 years now and can't imagine going anywhere else. We continue to use their services even after having moved an additional 15 miles away. Otis (our Vizsla) can sometimes be a bit skiddish around people when neither my wife or I are with him. But he gets ecstatic every time he sees someone from the shop getting ready to take him for grooming and can't wait to be taken away. I love going because I'm a bit of a stickler for customer service. I've been to other groomers who can do a good job, but when I have returned to pick up Otis I felt like I was always being rushed out (mind you, this was a time prior to COVID). When I pick up from Seusspup they are always willing to take a few minutes to discuss how he behaved, if they noticed anything out of the ordinary (both for dogs in general and specifically for my dog), and even just to have a little chat. And they love giving Otis his "goodbye scratches" just as much as he loves receiving them. My wife has grown even more fond of Seusspup since the pandemic. Her job continuously keeps her informed of the proper procedures, protocols, and preventative practices needed in order to be and remain safe. Seusspup has checked all the boxes to keep you, your loved ones, and themselves safe. Everyone working wears a mask. All customers wear a mask. Hand sanitizer is always present and available for use at your discretion. Social distancing is mandatory. Guidance for limited contact with your surroundings is provided. I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Suesspup from start to finish. When I first texted Suesspup to set my appointment, the response time was quick and they answered all of my questions with no pressure or judgement. The instructions for pick-up and drop-off were clearly communicated prior to our appointment with Kai. Kai is seriously a dog whisperer. Our Pomeranian recently got kicked out of grooming for biting the groomer after they were trying to get a mat out from behind his ear. Since then, we've had no luck finding a groomer as none were willing to take on a dog with biting history. Kai was willing to give our dog a try, and our pup responded amazingly well to her. You might get confused because it is attached to a doggy day care, which is also a plus! So spacious and so well kept! My reviews are always a storytime so here goes: My dog Skips went missing 5 months ago in Burbank, and even though I never went to Kai to groom him (I would do it myself ‍) but I happened to meet her when I was looking for pet shops and groomers who might have seen him. I then asked if I could hang a flyer of my missing baby. I thought maybe she wouldn't want to, since his hair was never cut quite as nicely as a groomer could cut it, and you could tell in his picture, but she was willing to do so and even offered to give him a free cut once I found him. Flash forward 4 months, and I decide to foster an 11 year old, 80lb Carolina dog. (Seeing all the dogs in the shelter made me sad, so I figured I would foster one and get him out of doggie jail for a bit). When he was leaving the shelter, he seemed soooo rickety and arthritic. It was a mission just to get him into my car. Later that night I noticed his nails. And holy COW they were long. I never had a big dog and wasn't sure if the nail was even normal. And there was no way I would have done that myself. Terrifying! Plus, even though he seemed very gentle, I did not want to attempt cutting them as he seemed very sensitive to their touch. I took him to Kai, and he seemed to be right at home immediately. She was able to get his nails looking healthy again, and he seemed sooooo happy walking out her door with freshly trimmed nails! Not traumatized in the least. Kai seems to really have a way with dogs in general from what I've seen. After the trim, I was shocked at how much more agile he actually was! His arthritis seemed better; he didn't seem so rickety. He was turning back into a puppy! And it all started with a nice trip to Kai to get his nails trimmed. Everything is very affordable, and even more so when you realize your dog is going to enjoy going to the groomer rather than be traumatized by the experience. Kai deserves 100 stars in my opinion. I didn't have the best experience with this groomer. I had contacted them a couple of weeks ago for a Saturday appointment. I wanted to be the first appointment of the day so i asked for the earliest possible. I got there right at 10am and dropped of my dog. The place was really nice with plenty of parking. I didn't get to meet the groomer until we picked him up so i explained to the assistant what we wanted done. My dog was suppose to be done in 3-3 1/2 hours. That was a big part of me booking with her because i hate groomers where you have to leave your dog there all day. After we dropped him off we proceeded to do some errands and have brunch while waiting for him to be done. 3 1/2 hours later (when he was suppose to be done) i get a text saying she is running behind and he would not be done for another 1 1/2 hours. There is not much i could do at that point so i said ok. We had to kill another 1 1/2 hours in Glendale. If i would have known it would have taken so long i would have gone home and come back but since she didn't tell me this until after there was no point. I would have been stuck in Saturday traffic on the 5 going back to LA. So 1 1/2 hours later we are sitting waiting outside thinking he would be done soon. I still hadn't heard anything from her so i texted her and she responded with she's working on him now about 20 more minutes. Yikes so 3 hours turned into 5 1/2 hours. If i would have known it would have taken this long i would have never booked the appointment. Since she took so long she gave me a $5 "discount" of not charging me for his teeth brushing. Which is free anyway if you check in on yelp. On her actual grooming she did a decent job. His face was well trimmed but she missed some spots that we had to cut and fix when we got home. She seemed nice but she overbooked and doesn't give accurate times. We had other plans that we had to cancel because we weren't expecting to have the grooming run over by 2 1/2 hours. read more

If I could give Seusspup 10 stars, I would! Alaina and Kai have been coiffing my two collie-husky+ sisters for almost 4 years now. Every time they are treated with the utmost compassion, patience, and care. This separates Suesspup from the rest of the pack, pun intended. When I first rescued Brandy and Gillie they were both very very shy because of the traumas that led to them being in a shelter and then rescue. They also had significant grooming needs because their full coats (which even when maintained require special attention) had been neglected and were heavily matted. It was difficult to get them through the door, but gradually with patience and gentle encouragement they were able to get into the bath, and some 6 hours later were as cute as could be. I've been bringing my miniature schnauzer to Kai and Seusspup Pet Grooming for the past two years. At this point, I would never consider another groomer. Most groomers in LA really don't understand a schnauzer cut. They use the lines you seen on cocker spaniels and think it's generally the same cut. It's not. I want my dog to look like the dog he is, and Kai is one of the very few in LA that can do this for me. Moreover, when my dog was in the midst of a health crisis, Kai and his dermatologist worked in tandem to develop the best treatment plan re: grooming and bathing which helped him recover at a faster rate. You can't ask for a better and more educated and empathetic groomer. To anyone saying that it takes too long to have your dog groomed (even if it's a small breed), you clearly don't understand how grooming works. The dogs are given breaks and each step takes a bit of time. If your dog is getting haircut that only lasts an hour, I feel bad your pup. Kai and co. make sure that the dogs are relaxed and that the final product is beautiful and just what you want. read more

upgrade Thank you for your response. I appreciate it. It seems for me you take a good care of your customers. But I truly believe that a hair cut for a small size dogs does not take 4 hours. Also It's not fun for a dogs to stay on table for 4 hours during you are doing a haircut. It stresses them out. By the way I came exactly on time what I have been told. When I got there a nice polite girl told me to wait 30 mins more. It's was already 3.5 hours since I dropped off my dog. 30 mins more of my waiting could not solve the mistakes you have done with that haircut: The lines are wrong; hair on the tale doesn't cut correctly, the shape of Pom pons are not right, missed hair between her toes, different length of hair on her legs, the neck shaved in wrong way. Her ears... done nothing. What have you guys done for my dog for 3,5 hours? Gave a bath and brushed? My dog is used to have her hair done and she is very calm during the process. No problem giving her a bath , brushing her hair, drying... she is perfectly fine with everything. She does not have a long hair or a coils. So, don't try to say guys bc it all about 30 minutes. Just be honest with customers. I would be perfectly fine if some of the workers told me, sorry, we have never done that type of haircut, all we can do this and this... or say - we can try but it will not be the way it should be. Don't try to pretend you are professionals and charge like you are professional. Wish you improve your skills and get more and more happy customers. So, being a first time owner of a beautiful cat who is 7 months, I of course wanted to take caution about where I was going to take my cat Honey to get groomed. Also, I was super nervous about how my cat was going to react with getting bathed prior to when he was rescued 6 months ago. My mom found this place on Yelp and I was kind of skeptical because I didn't see very many reviews for cat owners. My mom emailed them asking if they had availability on Thursday morning to groom my cat, and they replied immediately even though it was after business hours. The next day I had met Bobby who within just the first 5 minutes he showed nothing but kindness towards both myself and my cat. I felt super confident in letting Honey be taken under his care and Bobby did an amazing job! They did give us a heads up that it may take a couple of hours to get my cat bathed just in case Honey were to have an accident while bathing and have the service done over again. I appreciate the patience and care that was required within those 4 hours. It did definitely give me the peace of mind that they weren't going to just shave my cat or even harm my cat in the process in grooming my cat. Honey looked super cute, they gave him a green bow for St. Patrick's Day! He was calm when my mom picked him up, check out was quick and easy. My mom thought he did an exceptional job, she tipped 20% if she could've afforded to tip more she would've. Because of that my dog is super calm going in there and coming out.
