I have never used a platform that is so user unfriendly and non-intuitive as Docusign. Just horrible. The countless documents that I have sent that show up to the signer as empty!! How is this even possible? Terrible set up, user names don't populate the email field below on names that have been used 100's of times. So many extra keystrokes that it invalidates the time the program claims it saves. Get users in there and help clean up your nasty, horrible set up as a system. I wish that I could give this 1/16th of a star!! read more

I had an annual subscription, downgraded to a free account, then they charged my credit card $240 to renew an annual subscription. 66 days later, 5 phone calls, multiple emails, they hang up on me...I don't know what it's going to take to get this charge off my card. Service is fine while you keep having access to your email address used to log in. In case you do not have access to your email anymore and do not remember your password, all your documents can not be accessed, since you will not be able to recover your password (there is no secondary email address to help you). In other words, be careful with your login email, otherwise we will lose all documents filed there. read more

With the package that I have with them, I supposed to get my envelopes on the 8th of the month. However they are not providing those and every month I have to spend time with them on the phone and ask to refresh the account. Call center is in India, very slow spoke and slow minded...every time when I explain what I need, they are trying to upgrade me to a more expensive package etc. Usually it takes more than 20 min to get the issue fixed and usually I end up speaking to a manager. My subscription expires in May and I will switch to a different provider. read more

Horrible experience after having using this software for a few years. Yesterday my account was not able to log in, I have made calls for hours for two days, got the same stupid result not being able to re-activate my account. Customer supports pick up the calls immediately, but when they cannot fix the issue, they will hang up on you after having you waiting for long time. Then you will call back and repeatedly telling everyone the same issue again again from beginning.... this is horrible if you have urgent documents in process. I suggest to try other services like digiSign, and there are many free services for eSignatures if you do not want to waste your time with your blood pressure high. Do not recommend!!!!!! read more

Do not open a Docusign account. This company is less that reputable. The continue to take money from your account after you have closed your account.. They refuse to allow you to close your account. They refuse to refund for services not rendered. In short they are not doing business honestly. They intend to steal your money when they talk you into opening a $1600 dollar a year account. I was told my account was canceled, and no further debits would be made to my account. 4 months later they charged my account again anyway. I was told they were sorry but since they already took the money all they could do was leave my account open. This is theift and fraud. Deliberate and intentional. Their API is scrapped together just to be able to compete with others who have made it a priority. It's not an easy API to work with. After a week of development, we had a fully working integration in their sandbox. It took 3 days to jump through all of their hoops to promote the sandbox environment to live. And as soon as we were live, we got a not enough permission error from their live API. Same exact code. Their support is only capable of helping with manual signings. They don't know what an API is. They won't escalate to anyone (a manager or tier 2). All they can do is suggest that you go to stackoverflow. Their sales reps also refuse to help saying that they can only sell the product. I posted on stack-overflow. Emailed every single email address possible within the last week to try and get to their dev team. No help. All we needed was for someone to evaluate the error and match the permissions of the live account with the sandbox account (something we can't do!). Moving onto another provider. read more

I signed up for a production account and was not given the option to cancel within a certain period of time. After a few days of signing the contract, I realized DocuSign was not the right fit for my organization, and after bringing my concerns to the sales account rep, I was told that they couldn't cancel and refund the annual fee they charged upfront. I understand the legal implications of signing a contract, but from a customer point of view, I am surprised and disappointed that DocuSign doesn't offer alternatives for special circumstances. I have been shifted from one person to another trying to get back my money that they withdrew from my bank account after I had closed my docusign account. They charged me $329 for two months. I have only been reimbursed for one of them and I am still waiting on the other to be refunded. The give you a new case number and then close it and tell you that you have been reimbursed. This is the most disorganized company I have ever dealt with, and I feel like they are fraudulent. They are a huge scam. I don't know what else to do except take legal action. read more

Further to my above review, after threatening to reverse the charge on our credit card by 3/12/19 if we did not receive our refund, we finally received the credit on 3/14/19. This may be a useful tool for businesses. But clearly it is designed to screw consumers. Always be sure to SAVE to your computer ANYTHING from DocuSign. And do it BEFORE any other actions. If you don't , the document will miraculously disappear In a few days. If you need to access it, it will not be there. (Unless there is some convoluted method I have not been able to figure out). Working with slimy contractors, I see how they LOVE having you sign away on something, then not have anything to refer to if a dispute arises. I also do not understand why they make this tool so difficult. If you need 2 signatures, it seems to not be a straight forward method. I've used Docusign for years, because I can't find anything better. Right now, I was on hold for 20 minutes, then my call was dropped. The platform is clumsy and time-consuming. My personal account was disabled after I changed companies and requested the old branding be changed. Support told me it was done, but the next time I tried to log in, my account was closed. It was after normal work hours, so I opened a new account - now that isn't working. The docs aren't being received. And I'm waiting. read more

So frustrated. Have you ever use an application that is supposed to do something very easy but it can't or there are apparent bugs. Then you call up the customer service and are routed to the Philipinnes where the process of taking your name down for the trouble ticket takes 30 minutes. By the time you have run out of patience going through their script questionaire they tell you that your account doesn't feature premium support and so you have to solve your own issue online or through chat, of pay for their premium service, which is hardly premium. I am very disappointed by so many aspects of this company. First, they have been charging me for the last 5 months even though I tried to cancel numerous times. But you cant CANCEL online...you have to call, but they put you on hold for hours at a time if you say you're an existing customer. I emailed them many times to cancel, but no response. I kept getting charged. I called and asked to speak with Sales. I got right thru. After speaking with Tyler (Corporate Sales) in Seattle, he said he could help and then...get this...hung right up. He pretended like the phones got disconnected when he was forwarding the call. Nice one. Also, you can't download more than one signed contract at a time. That is not efficient. Too time consuming. They do this so that you will stick around and continue to pay. It works. Then when I finally (after months) get thru, my call gets routed to the PHILIPPINES for customer service. Oh boy. While writing this email, I just received an email from docusign, "I'm happy we were able to resolve your issue today!" But nothing has been resolved. It's almost too funny. What really makes me laugh is this slogan, "DocuSign is committed to customer satisfaction." - It's actually sad for business that really care about their customers, this is a slap in our faces. I had to call in 4 times to cancel the service and they do everything possible to run you around. First, one should be able to cancel on the website. Our office purchased this service so I have no choice but to use it. The interface is not intuitive and it's completely illogical at times. The system is full of jargon which is unexplained and simple tasks take a lot of navigation to get to. When you first sign up they spam you with "training" videos which are from several years back and are not for the current platform. So they are totally useless and you kind of have to figure it out by yourself which is a nightmare because it's illogical and not intuitive. They force you to jump through a lot of hoops and play detective in order to find their customer service number. When you finally get them on the phone they may be helpful, but the effort required to get there is not worth it. read more

I'm a real estate investor and developer, and lately I've been trying to use DocuSign because I want to reduce my paper files. Some of the agents I work with recommended it, so I figured I'd give it a shot. It drives my crazy because the real estate industry is famously non-technological, so they think Docusign is the greatest thing to come along since the fax machine. Unfortunately, they are wrong. You are basically forced to use it with your real estate forms software, and it breaks and is completely unintuitive. Worse, they charge you $13 or something like that every time you call for help, and $5 each time you send a contract even after you pay $20 a month. Pass on DocuSign. read more

I wish I would have read all of these reviews before I signed up for a year of DucuSign Pro. I deeply relate with the frustration that many others have expressed in their reviews. I briefly compared a few E-Sign products and decided upon DucuSign because they seem to be the leaders. After using them for a few months, I thoroughly regret my decision. As a property manager, I do have very complicated contracts with hundreds of input fields and chains of signers for each document. I've spent hours meticulously placing each field into DucuSign. But, that's not the frustrating part. My frustration is a growing list of application woe's and design flaws - things that just don't work like they should. And, for all of the features DocuSign offers, they're missing many basic functions. For instance, if I send a long contract to a landlord, and they return it with a single typo, you think it would be easy to edit that one typo. But, in fact, you have to void the entire contract and start over. No joke. I've called support and this is their only solution. Imagine if you have a chain of 5 people signing a contact and the fifth person in the chain makes a mistake. You have to ask all 5 signers to start over. This simply isn't a solution at all. I know - I've had it happen many times already. I've had more failure than success with this product. And, I can say with assurance that the errors on not on my side of the keyboard. When I think of all my wasted time... well, what can I do? I'm going to start again with a different product and hope for better results. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would! I found that they were billing my credit card monthly for someone else's account on my team. I brought this to their attention in April and they asked me to send an email to them and they would discontinue any future charges and refund any past charges. I did everything they asked of me but they did not discontinue billing until they placed two more charges on my credit card. In addition, they never refunded the past charges. I followed up with them and even with the proof of the call and email, they still refused to issue any refunds regarding this matter! read more

As a user, I have been forced to use this absolutely dreadful system twice now. Can you say: "Solution" in search of a "problem?" Better yet, can you make something incredibly convoluted - user passwords, codes, emails, difficulty finding how to sign something, strange features. Something that seems kinda sorta like a signature but isn't really one. I hope that someday someone doesn't expect any of this to stand up in Court. It's very very very very very difficult to use. I hate my vendor for making me use this terrible waste of time. It OVERCOMPLICATES what should be simple and makes your customers suffer. This company should be called docusign-rip-off. I went to their website on 8/21 and ordered the Realtor package where I got 10% off for a yearly package of $240. The bill showed $216 so I paid and everything seems fine until today 8/25 I went onto my bank statement to check something and found that they actually charged me the full price of $240. I immediately called their sales department and they would not answer my questions, then I called again this time I am routed to their customer service department in the Philippines. Boy I spent 15 minutes just to tell them what my simple problem is, and of course language is a big problem as I have a hard time understanding their heavy accent and they don't even understand what Realtor means. They insist I must have done something wrong during my order, which I swear I didn't. I told them over and over again that I really read that they were going to bill me $216, not $240 otherwise I would not paid. It's not a matter of $24, its their business ethics of intentionally rip me off. I regret that I have not read their reviews first before purchasing it. Now I have to live with it for 1 year. You would think a company as well-known as DocuSign would be more efficient. I'm trying to convince to use DocuSign for their e-signature needs so I signed up for the 30 free trial to show them how simple and effortless the process could be if they used DocuSign. The integration with Salesforce and DocuSign is not the easiest to understand or implement for myself (as an analyst) and my developer coworkers. I called customer service to see it they could walk me through the setup process, but was told I would have to purchase in order to get that level of support. If I can't get service as a trial customer, what makes you think people will want to purchase. Will I get the same level of service as a paying DocuSign customer. i changed email addresses. when i try to change to the new email address in the system it sends the security code to my old email address that no longer exists. customer support refused to help and told me to contact my internet provider and reactivate my old email address to get the code. that was a rediculous answer and i will be cancelling my account. to illustrate the problem, i can use my new email address to send a document out, but when it is signed the system returns it to my old dead email account. i can't get it! read more

I am incredibly disappointed with their lack of integrity. After speaking to the customer support agent, I was told that my refund and cancellation was being processed when in fact I had not yet been charged for the next year as it was on the same day of my renewal. Wow I really hate this company. I own a boutique fitness studio in Brooklyn. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was forced to close my doors (temporarily) and shift my classes to online. We also needed to start collecting liability waivers from new clients virtually. So I signed up for a free trial. I liked the product (though it's nothing special and there are PLENTY of competitors, like HelloSign which I switched to). So after the trial period, I signed up for a 1 year Standard Business plan, which I paid for up front ($300). 2 weeks into my contract, I received an email from sales letting me know I eclipsed my annual envelope maximum of 100 envelopes ($3/signature, really?) This was a shock to me since the plan is marketed as $/month subscription and the envelope maximum is conveniently absent from the the "pricing and plans" grid. I replied to the email and said I was surprised by this info and not aware of a 100 envelope maximum which is less than 10 envelopes per month and not well-suited for my small business, which will have a much higher volume than that. They promptly responded with the link to where on the website the envelope maximum is disclosed. It is a) below the fold and b) hidden in a collapsed FAQ. I found this response to be very defensive (and proof that this is clearly not the first time they have surprised a customer.) When I expressed my frustration at this at best non transparent and at worst bait and switch marketing tactic, they doubled down and said something to the effect of "we are not responsible if customers do not read our terms and conditions." I highlighted that due to COVID19 many small businesses with higher volume, lower value transactions are going to be in need of the service and will need an unlimited plan to make these numbers work. They replied that they don't have unlimited plans, that their pricing is based on # of transactions (oh, is that so? Then why are your plans marketed as "per month" with the per transaction description relegated to the fine print?) They went on the say that they have 80% market share in small business to dismiss my point about businesses like myself needing this service at an unlimited rate. Super arrogant. So I then asked to cancel the plan and pay for just the month I used. That's when they told me that the $300 I paid was for 100 envelopes and since I already surpassed that, I exhausted the full plan. They suggested calling customer service to request a refund, indicating "they have really great customer service and they'll probably accomodate since you just started the plan 2 weeks ago." I called customer service...not helpful. I spent a while explaining the predicament. Got the runaround, agent told me they need to submit a request to the refunds department. HERE'S THE BEST PART. I went back online to cancel my plan and learned that Docusign has a full Money Back Guarantee if you cancel your plan within 30 days. Why was the exception or the long winded explanation that preceded it necessary when this falls under their standard policy? So I cancelled my plan online and screen shot the confirmation. Never received a confirm email. I emailed customer service a few times asking for confirmation of cancellation. No response. Logged into my account and it's still active. Called customer service today and found out the request for a refund was denied. Filing a dispute with American Express and very glad I have plenty of documentation to substantiate this awful experience. Man does this company suck. Plenty of competitors out there.
