I booked via Open Table and walked over. E were immediately seated. We each ordered the Fantastic Four, which consisted of eggs, home fries, bacon, and waffles. My friend and I swapped the bacon, for extra home fries. My other Freire enjoyed the bacon. The eggs and home fries were excellent, I did not like the waffles. The service was excellent, the music was great, but not too loud. Docks had all the potential during my visit but it definitely fell short. I do feel like it's because we were a big party and our waiter just wasn't attentive or very personable. I don't even remember if he introduced himself to us by name. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It was also very hot in there (could be from the LED lights that were by our table), they ended up bringing us a standing fan to help. We celebrated my bff's birthday here on a Saturday night at 7:30 with a group of 15. The ambiance in here is definitely fitting for a birthday or any special occasion. Lots of floral and colorful decor for lots of photo ops. They had a DJ who played a great mix of music and kept the vibe all night. They also had someone taking professional pictures which came out really good but it's definitely overpriced. $25 per photo, not printed, just airdropped to you. Drinks: I started with my favorite pornstar martini but it wasn't that good here. The color was off and it tasted more like juice. I ended up switching to the brunch punch which was much stronger, it's essentially a rum punch. The white sangria was good too. Food: we had a prefix menu with the apps and desserts served family style and each person gets 1 entree for $125 per person, drinks not included. The ribs and wings were the best of the appetizers. The calamari was good but the shrimps were overcooked and soft. For my entree I went for the seafood linguini. The sauce on this was really good and flavorful but the linguini was overcooked. The portion size was good as well with a good amount of seafood in it. I also tried the seafood paradise which is a fried rice with shrimp and salmon served in a pineapple, it was good. I came here for my birthday with my friends, and we had an amazing time! The atmosphere was beautiful, with flowers everywhere that made the space feel elegant and inviting. Our waitress was fantastic--she was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent recommendations. It is definitely more about the vibe and aesthetic than the food itself, but overall it was still a pleasant experience. The servers were friendly and attentive, although there was a bit of confusion midway through our meal when our server switched and we weren't told. We waited for a while thinking the original person was coming back before another server eventually stepped in to help. Once that was sorted out, service was perfectly fine. The food was good... It wasn't mind-blowing, but satisfying. Portions were fair and actually large enough for my friend and me to share comfortably. One small thing to note is that the menu posted online appears to be outdated, though the current menu isn't drastically different. Atmosphere-wise, this place clearly leans into the aesthetic. It was pretty lively, and a bit loud between music and parties happening, and a lot of people seemed to be there mainly for photos. Walking down the steps into the restaurant is really pretty, and they have a flower wall that's great for pictures. Just be aware that if it's busy you may have to wait your turn or share the photo space with others. I'm not sure how much of the space still reflects its old Johnny Utah days, but it's definitely a spot worth trying at least once. Docks off 5th is under new management - what a disappointment. We came here for brunch and they made drastic changes to the menu. Before the boozy brunch would include more entrees than the Fantastic Four and you had a choice of mimosas, bloody mary, sangria or Bellini's. Now your only choice is Mimosa's so we were okay with that but we wanted the juice on the side and the waiter informed us he couldn't serve the juice on the side. We opted to order the bottle of Champagne for $68 and make our own. I was insulted when they came back to the table with J. Roget twist off champagne which cost about $5 a bottle. I immediately asked to speak to the manager and informed her that I will not pay $68 for that bottle. The food was okay, I spoke highly of this restaurant then my cousin found something in her food and refused to eat. I don't know whats going on at Dock's on 5th. We all agreed the food wasn't necessarily the standout of the evening, but everything else truly made up for it. The food was good for the most part (4/5) but I think it could be better for the price and a downtown restaurant -- I will warn the menu is not super extensive. Overall the service was mid to me. The ladies at the front were kind and helped with the coat check. We had a switch with our waitstaff which was okay, it just wasn't communicated. Not for the easily overstimulated, this places is a girly night out explosion. So much pink and flowers but super fun! You would never know this place is here, as it is downstairs but walking in the place feels very spacious for being in the basement. I went with a friend to celebrate so we went all out! For apps: Lobster Bisque; 7/10, not a huge lobster fan but this was very good. Angry Lobster sushi roll; 8/10 this was a great cooked sushi roll. Sticky Ribs; 6/10 not really for me as this is a knife and fork place but the glaze was good. Tuna tacos; 10/10 could have 12 of these! For mains, we split two: Seafood Paradise (which no longer comes in a pineapple); 7/10, this was much spicer then we thought it would be the rice was good but needed a minute or two longer. We also ordered a chicken with potatoes dish that is either no longer on the menu or a special but was actually one of my favorite meals of the year so I hope they bring it back! I picked this restaurant due to its proximity to Radio City Music Hall. I was expecting the Docks Oyster Bar and made the mistake of not looking at the Docks on 5th menu more closely. Docks off Fifth is more of a festive pub. To enter, you descend down a lengthy staircase. After dinner, we were able to exit via the elevator. Absolutely adored the ambiance of this place, so many spots for pictures and creative cocktails to match the aesthetic. Service was a little confusing as different people were waiting on us and some drinks got mixed up. But otherwise pretty attentive since everyone is serving. I originally wanted the truffle steak but was sold out. That's really the only option that caught my eye so I ended up getting the seafood linguine. For entrees, three of us ordered the seafood paradise which is the open faced pineapple with jerk salmon, shrimp and lobster. You can customize the order to a degree since one of my friends didn't want the shrimp. The food and presentation were both good overall. The margarita flight, however, was a bit watery. I'd probably skip that next time. I ordered the Seafood Paradise and it was a 10/10. It had a nice spicy kick and was really flavorful. The boneless chicken unfortunately reminded me a little of the Tyson frozen bag from the grocery store, so that was probably the weakest item we tried. Our bill came out to $219 for two people, which felt pretty reasonable for a dinner in an NYC-type setting. The environment and ambiance were great, perfect spot if you're looking to take pictures. I ordered the Lemon Drop Martini immediately along with a couple of appetizers (Fried Calamari and The Angry Lobster Sushi Rolls). I loved the drink and appetizers. Everything was tasty and refreshing. I proceeded to order another drink; The Watermelon Lemon Drop and the Seafood Linguini for ny entrée. Both items were delicious; 10/10. I visited Doc of 5th to celebrate my daughter's graduation, which took place right next to Radio City Music Hall -- and I'm so glad we chose this spot. The experience from the moment we walked in was beautiful. We entered by walking down a staircase that was decorated with stunning flowers on the walls -- it gave such a warm, celebratory feel right away. We were a party of six and were seated in a lovely booth. The ambiance was elegant and well-thought-out. There's even a stage area where we were able to take lots of beautiful and memorable pictures of the graduate -- a perfect touch for a celebratory meal. There was also a live DJ playing great music the entire time. My friends were literally dancing in their seats -- and by the end, they got up and danced! It really brought the energy up and made the whole experience feel like a true celebration. We were jamming to every song! As for the food, everything was delicious. I had the Island Salmon, which was flavorful and cooked perfectly. My daughter had the Seafood Paella, which came loaded with different types of seafood -- she really enjoyed it. I really wanted to like Docks Off 5th. The space has undeniable potential - the decor is sharp, and the playlist is actually curated with some taste. But unfortunately, you can't eat the wallpaper, and the "hospitality" here is a total ghost show. I arrived for an 8:15 PM reservation and was still standing around like a background extra at 9:10 PM. When I checked in at 8:40, I was given the classic "ten more minutes" brush-off. Even a personal intervention from the owner at 8:49 - complete with a promise that we were next for the very next table for two - amounted to absolutely nothing. We ordered a round of drinks to pass the time, but after an hour of watching the staff meander aimlessly while we remained unseated, we finally threw in the towel. It became glaringly obvious that a table was never actually coming. A few observations from the waiting area: (1) The Atmosphere: Curiously, for a restaurant, it smelled like... nothing. No garlic, no searing proteins, no aromas of a kitchen in flight. It was sterile and odd. (2) The Food: While I didn't get to taste anything (since seating apparently requires an act of God), the plates I saw passing by lacked any visual "wow" factor. They looked uninspired at best. Leaving a restaurant hungry and disappointed after holding a confirmed reservation is a first-class way to ensure a customer never returns. For a relatively new restaurant, especially one touted as Instagram-worthy, the indoor stairs from the street to the dining floor downstairs felt old and creaky. The path down is beautifully decorated with flowers galore but just gotta be careful with each step. That area really is the only spot ideal for a photo unless you have a professional camera and lighting to shoot photos on the dining floor, which is dark. The restaurant is intentionally dark, except for the restroom area which has quite harsh fluorescent white lighting and not decorated at all, which easily brings you back from a fantasyland mindset to reality. The menu listed many dishes that sounded interesting. We got a variety of dishes to share, which weren't bad tasting but were definitely overpriced. We had a waitress and many other staff members who helped with checking in, refilling water glasses, serving dishes, clearing dishes. The communication among them could've been better. When my party was seated, we didn't have complete table settings including glasses for water. In the beginning, some of us were served water, some were not as we had no glasses. By the time shareable starters began to arrive, some of us could start picking at the food while others couldn't because we were still waiting for table settings we had requested. This spot is good for a night out with friends in a central location (midtown) with lots of flowers in a dark setting with lit signage inside. Drinks are a close secondary priority and food is probably right after. I'm not sure if this is a new norm, but the bill arrived with gratuity automatically added for a party of 4 adults. We each paid with credit cards and noticed the amounts on each card didn't match the split amount expected per the amount on the bill. We had failed to notice the text at the bottom of the bill stating an additional percentage is charged for paying with a credit card. Entrées were lamb lollipops with asparagus and mashed potatoes and also the seafood linguine. They weren't cheap with the shrimp and the sauce was flavorful and creamy. I did notice after the fact, that they forgot my garlic bread . We both had the rum punch and we were definitely too full for dessert. Gratuities are automatically added and the bill was roughly $235 for 2 people. Now...the negatives This place is loud. Lots of reggaeton! The Saturday night crowd skewed VERY YOUNG!! Despite the inappropriate clothing, heavy makeup, people dripping in bling, etc.. these kids looked barely legal to be drinking much less not being accompanied by any responsible adults. Second...unisex open bathrooms that weren't very clean. Just weird walking into the "area" with someone of the opposite sex right behind you, also looking for a stall. Young girls hog the mirrors over the sink, applying even more makeup which can make going to the sink to actually wash your hands and leave, a challenge. Third...that doggone staircase!!! My God!! Good luck navigating going up or down when people block your way taking countless Selfies. The death stares you get when trying to pass!! How dare YOU be so inconsiderate by blocking THEM from getting all their "angles"?! YIKES! Lastly...it was a tad too warm in there and just be careful walking around. I felt like the steps within the restaurant, combined with darkness and alcohol is an accident waiting to happen! I would definitely revisit Docks but maybe in the daytime or for brunch. Shrimp, salmon, lobster all combined for superb flavors my tongue enjoyed. Was a bit spicy but our Niyah asked level I wanted. Seafood Linguine Well seasoned my sister enjoyed immensely Dessert: Strawberry cheesecake loved I was able to have only the cheesecake and not the sundae advertised. I enjoyed it immensely. I visited on a Wednesday night, the ambiance was nice from the decor to music I enjoyed!. Our waitress Megan was the best!, super attentive and knowledgeable. The food was 10/10, drinks were good as well, I certainly recommend giving them a try! read more

We visited for a celebration and were honestly disappointed. The DJ was there for only a short time and then left for the rest of the night, which wasn't what we expected. The food was pretty mid, especially considering all the hype it gets on TikTok. There was also a man selling hookah for $50, and it was not worth the price at all. The drinks were okay, but we waited over 50 minutes for just four drinks. What made it even more frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't packed, so the long wait was hard to understand. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the social media hype. Between the slow service, average food, and disappointing atmosphere, I wouldn't rush back. read more

Just two days into open and this place is already a hit. The atmosphere inside is incredible with flowers everywhere. Such a romantic atmosphere. I just saw one proposal here. I tried the lobster roll which was pretty good one of the better lobster rolls I have tried. 7/10 The fries remind me of childhood. That perfect crispy fries you remember getting at McDonalds with free cone day. Amazing memories. 9/10 amazing. This place just opened and has a lot of changes to still make but off to a great start. The service of the manager and servers is great. They are very eager to please and make any changes you need. They are still changing up their menu so it is going to be amazing when they are done. Docks Off 5th is definitely a trendy hotspot with a gorgeous social media-friendly aesthetic--flowers blooming everywhere make it a great backdrop for pics. The vibe is lively and attracts all age groups. Unfortunately, the service was mid--I felt ignored by our server. I ordered the Po Boy shrimp sandwich and was super disappointed to see it served on a potato bread hotdog bun, with sad little fries that looked like bottom-of-the-bag scraps... not worth $20+. On the bright side, my friends enjoyed their pasta and burger meals. Come here for drinks and the vibe--not the food. read more
