Docks off 5th is under new management - what a disappointment. We came here for brunch and they made drastic changes to the menu. Before the boozy brunch would include more entrees than the Fantastic Four and you had a choice of mimosas, bloody mary, sangria or Bellini's. Now your only choice is Mimosa's so we were okay with that but we wanted the juice on the side and the waiter informed us he couldn't serve the juice on the side. We opted to order the bottle of Champagne for $68 and make our own. I was insulted when they came back to the table with J. Roget twist off champagne which cost about $5 a bottle. I immediately asked to speak to the manager and informed her that I will not pay $68 for that bottle. The food was okay, I spoke highly of this restaurant then my cousin found something in her food and refused to eat. I don't know whats going on at Dock's on 5th. I understand with new management come changes but to downgrade your quality is not what I was expecting.

3.5 rounded to 4 I tried Docks Off 5th during restaurant week on a spur of the moment outting. It is definitely more about the vibe and aesthetic than the food itself, but overall it was still a pleasant experience. The servers were friendly and attentive, although there was a bit of confusion midway through our meal when our server switched and we weren't told. We waited for a while thinking the original person was coming back before another server eventually stepped in to help. Once that was sorted out, service was perfectly fine. The food was good... It wasn't mind-blowing, but satisfying. Portions were fair and actually large enough for my friend and me to share comfortably. One small thing to note is that the menu posted online appears to be outdated, though the current menu isn't drastically different. Atmosphere-wise, this place clearly leans into the aesthetic. It was pretty lively, and a bit loud between music and parties happening, and a lot of people seemed to be there mainly for photos. Walking down the steps into the restaurant is really pretty, and they have a flower wall that's great for pictures. Just be aware that if it's busy you may have to wait your turn or share the photo space with others. I'm not sure how much of the space still reflects its old Johnny Utah days, but it's definitely a spot worth trying at least once. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return if I had other options, but I also wouldn't mind going again if someone else suggested it. You just have to go in knowing the kind of scene to expect. Overall: good service, decent food, and a strong aesthetic vibe.

First time at Docks Off 5th for a Galentine's dinner with my book club, and it was such a fun night. We all agreed the food wasn't necessarily the standout of the evening, but everything else truly made up for it. The ambience was 10/10, beautiful atmosphere, great energy, and the perfect vibe for a girls' night out. It felt lively without being overwhelming, which made it easy for us to relax, chat, and enjoy each other's company. And the drinks? Also 10/10. Creative, well made, and definitely the highlight of the menu for us.

You can't deny the aesthetics of this place!!! The food was good for the most part (4/5) but I think it could be better for the price and a downtown restaurant -- I will warn the menu is not super extensive. Overall the service was mid to me. The ladies at the front were kind and helped with the coat check. We had a switch with our waitstaff which was okay, it just wasn't communicated. What REALLY disappointed me was buying premium liquor just to be served well liquor -- I didn't even get to take a picture of our food. Not only was this confirmed for me but it was very clear in the quality of drink we ordered. This type of practice is UNETHICAL and is the reason why I will not return and made me give the place 3 out of 5 stars.

Not for the easily overstimulated, this places is a girly night out explosion. So much pink and flowers but super fun! You would never know this place is here, as it is downstairs but walking in the place feels very spacious for being in the basement. I went with a friend to celebrate so we went all out! For apps: Lobster Bisque; 7/10, not a huge lobster fan but this was very good. Angry Lobster sushi roll; 8/10 this was a great cooked sushi roll. Sticky Ribs; 6/10 not really for me as this is a knife and fork place but the glaze was good. Tuna tacos; 10/10 could have 12 of these! For mains, we split two: Seafood Paradise (which no longer comes in a pineapple); 7/10, this was much spicer then we thought it would be the rice was good but needed a minute or two longer. We also ordered a chicken with potatoes dish that is either no longer on the menu or a special but was actually one of my favorite meals of the year so I hope they bring it back! We were absolutely stuffed at this point but we still got the two different Sundae for shits and giggles, I'm actually allergic to strawberries for the Fried Oreo sundae was the perfect way to end the meal. For drinks, our waitress suggested the watermelon lemon drop & the lemon drop martini. I was more a fan of the watermelon version as it was less tart but both were great! They came with a cute little floating duck in them.

The ambiance and the decor were absolutely beautiful and the waitstaff were great as well as the photographer they had there! However the food was not so great and basic and not very flavorful. The drinks however were so good.

Great location and decor...well outstanding decor! If you want a instagrammable tourist location this is it! Flowers everywhere..snap a pic at every spot! However, thats where the vibe ended for me...the food was ok but held no wow factor. We had to send back the lamb because it was overcooked after asking for medium..our potatoes were cold and calamari soggy...the dessert carousel was a beautiful sight but all the desserts fell short. Funfact...this location use to be jhonny utah's

Visited on a Tuesday without a reservation and was still able to be accommodated, which was a nice surprise. Street parking was available, which made getting there easy. The food and presentation were both good overall. The margarita flight, however, was a bit watery. I'd probably skip that next time. I ordered the Seafood Paradise and it was a 10/10. It had a nice spicy kick and was really flavorful. The boneless chicken unfortunately reminded me a little of the Tyson frozen bag from the grocery store, so that was probably the weakest item we tried. Our bill came out to $219 for two people, which felt pretty reasonable for a dinner in an NYC-type setting. The environment and ambiance were great, perfect spot if you're looking to take pictures. Overall, a solid experience and I'd definitely go back, just with a slightly different drink order next time

Absolutely adored the ambiance of this place, so many spots for pictures and creative cocktails to match the aesthetic. Service was a little confusing as different people were waiting on us and some drinks got mixed up. But otherwise pretty attentive since everyone is serving. I originally wanted the truffle steak but was sold out. That's really the only option that caught my eye so I ended up getting the seafood linguine. I personally thought the dish itself was a bit fishy, not enough for me to send it back but enough to just eat and get it over with. Calamari was ok, nothing extraordinary. Seems like this place is really based on vibes and being instagram worthy but other than that we had a wonderful time.

I love this spot! Staff was great, food was great, music was great, the drinks were the best part and the aesthetics 9/10! Beautiful for pictures and a great spot for a girls night out.

Very nice place for nice you settle in.. The flowers are everywhere making it a big attraction to picture crazy guests. The drinks however are overpriced and the food is average. The seafood pasta was a standout. The service was polite and accommodating.

Must be the most breathtaking instagram picture worthy place I've seen in a while The entrance is just stunning As soon as you open the door you are greeted by some stairs filled with beautiful flowers The host immediately greets you We had a party of 13 for my mother birthday! We had the private room. We had a SHARED SIGNATURE MENU, rounded up to $100 per person. This included delicious food placed throughout the table, enough to feed everyone. The drinks are not included so people placed their own orders for drinks. ( drinks are ok) Our waiter ( Ignacio ) was just so amazing Very warm and supper attentive to our party . We met the manager ( Joe ) and he is also fantastic! I really love that fact that you can hear the music, but are still able to hold a conversation! I'm INLOVE with the Halloween decorations right on time for OCT 1st The only negative is that street parking is horrible! lol ( what can we expect from manhattan) N the restaurant is in the PRICEY side !

Some friends and I had brunch at this spot for a friends birthday. The ambience is absolutely beautiful. As soon you walk down the stairs, the wall and ceilings are covered with beautiful flowers. This place is a photographically appeasing. We started our experience with our sweetheart server, Garrett who took care of us like we were all friends. We all ordered cocktails, two friends had rum punches, 2 had the spicy mango and 1 had a sangria. We all enjoyed our drinks but baby that spicy mango with the jalapeño on top Definitely gave me a kick. It was really spicy and sweet but most importantly delicious. The birthday girl chose the appetizers for the table. We had the crab cake that one tasted a little of and it was delicious. We also had ribs and shrimp that i didn't taste and lastly the wings that I destroyed. I'm not a seafood gal, lol. Everyone raved about the ribs and crab cake. For entrees, three of us ordered the seafood paradise which is the open faced pineapple with jerk salmon, shrimp and lobster. You can customize the order to a degree since one of my friends didn't want the shrimp. Another friend had the salmon with asparagus and I had the blackened chicken Ceasar wrap with fries that was absolutely delicious. We were all very satisfied with the food and nicely full. I didn't have room for dessert which is a shock. The bday girl ordered a slice of cake that she enjoyed. Before we left we made sure we got our pics from all of cool spots in the restaurant. Another thing i loved about this place is that the music wasn't blasting and we could hear each others conversations without yelling. This is definitely a spot to check out.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. It was busy and bustling in the upstairs bar. We were seated at a spot resembling a coffee table(s) with chairs / ottomans surrounding it. I got the martini. It was a fun play with the green curry and saffron. This place is a little loud, so it is not easy to have a convo with your party. I am old so this probably wouldn't have been something I clocked in my younger years. They do have food which looks intriguing. Especially anything with truffles on it. If in the area, would definitely consider coming back for a quick drink and bite. REVIEW #4013
