As far as collectible shops go this one was spacious and had a little bit of every genre. Magic and Dungeons & Dragons game tables set up in the middle with a separate overflow room. Found some nice comics from the 1970s and 1980s but not too many. Searched for a few to complete my comic book collection with negative results. The marvel posters and superhero resin statues are very cool. The prices seem very fair with a small room of POP action figures at 50% off. Older comic books and action figures are more my thing, but I understand the store is more influenced by hobbies and games. read more

Only 1 parking spot and 1 handicap spot in front on the store so not really sure where else to park. The brick storefront is set back off 441 so easy to miss but look for the big sign. My hubby is infatuated with retro comics and toys so I went with him today and had fun. Big room full of nostalgia toys and things. The full size Michael Myers prop was scary. read more

They definitely didn't make me feel bad for not knowing about comics and one of the guys there had some serious advice to give about trying out new comics. This is also known as DOCKING BAY 94. Literally stocked from wall to wall of comic books, action figurines, and game trading cards. This may be a little small to some people as it is roughly under 1000 sq ft, but they've rearranged the store floor plan to create more table space for those who want to play card games and other board games. The employees are boisterously nice and friendly. Location is great for those who live in Boca and surrounding towns as it's out west on 441 just north of Hillsboro/WalMart. But parking is very limited as some people will be forced to park on the unpaved grounds in front of the store or not be able to park anywhere at all. The store is kind of tucked away and does not display the actual name that everyone (and on FB) knows it as "Docking Bay 94", so instead it has "Comics & Games" in big red letters. The audience of players and customers are usually the younger crowds ranging from 11 to early 20s. There are some older gentlemen and a few that are very competitive. They have reasonable prize support, do store credit, and have a ton of singles on display for Magic the Gathering. It's OK because there won't be much to look through, not sure who all these people are that say they are packed wall to wall with comics. They aren't, only a few boxes of back issues. I'm far from a comic book aficionado. I don't even think I've ever read one from front to back, but as a kid I remember collecting them (for the artwork). My Silver Surfer, Spidey and X-Men game is thick. Lost Realms might not even be the name of this store anymore because I keep seeing something called Docking Bay 94 in the same location. 99.9% of the world's population would have no idea what that name means, but for those who aren't in the know, it's a docking bay in Mos Eisley (Star Wars). Talk about obscure geek references. But geek is okay. Geeks don't waste tax payers money. Geeks don't pan handle. Geeks don't make your insurance premiums sky rocket. Geeks don't steal car radios. Geeks read comics and invent stuff like iPODs, Facebook and hack into the most sophisticated databases in the world. This past weekend I spent all of 15 minutes inside this store. I got my geek on. It felt good too because comic book stores are not pretentious like a lot of music stores. You won't find guys like Jack Black from High Fidelity questioning your every move. There are fanatics and then there are novice dudes. I happened to stop in there because I was in need of some protective pages for sports cards, yet another really geeky thing to be doing at my age. Geeks don't know the acronym YOLO but it applies for everything, even comic book store shopping. I'm a digger so when I go to places like record stores in NYC I can spend hours. I collect shit. Shit I can't take with me when I'm 6 feet deep, but for some reason my drug is collecting things. I'm not a hoarder. I don't collect garage sale shit. I collect shit that allows me to relive my wonder years. You smoke that sticky icky, I collect baseball cards and records. Too each his own. Anyways, this store is one of the few left. In fact, it may be the only comic store in a 50 mile radius. It provides an outlet to a specific demographic. Their actual comic selection isn't that deep and it looks that that Pokeman card stuff has taken over this culture. The store is literally filled with kids trading cards. The point of this review is, if you collect these cards or comics or just want a place to go to where you can look at comics and all that jazz-- this is it. I cringe and chuckle at the thought of visiting this or any comic book store. Not only are comics not my thing but the stereo-typical kids congregate here that are not part of the "in-crowd". Those were my first thoughts but a rare thing occurred, I was wrong. I was with a friend who asked if I minded making a quick stop after lunch; of course he didn't mention it was a comic book store. We pull up and I had proof that the kids (and adults here are outcasts). The store clerks (roughly aged 20 to 35 years old) were all dressed as different super heroes. The store was littered with little kids asking them questions with that look a kids has when they talk to their idols. I started to realize, yeah, they do march to the beat of their own drum but it was nice to see people not putting on a front or act to hide who they are. I stand corrected and as goofy as it is, I think it was kinda interesting how happy these "adults" seemed and how it seemed like they had real pride about what they were doing. It also didn't hurt that superwomen was rather hot. If you're looking for new comics, old collectable comics, super hero figurines, kiddy card type games (like Pokemon) or want to debate Stan Lee trivia, then this is your place. This started off as a response to Heather S., but it looked so much like a Yelp, I thought I'd just go ahead and post it. The new location is alright. I'm more of a gamer: card games like Magic, and went there for a city champs event. I don't play often, but like to stop by and play every once in a while. When I first moved to Boca, they were in that really big space in Sandalfoot, but no one came. Now, they have more of a used bookstore feel, as it is like an old house with different rooms. An office-y room that is not for the public, and the main room when you enter. They still have a full wall of comics, and a case or two of busts, figurines, etc. There was one girl working there, but I didn't catch her name. Everyone was very friendly. My son and I visit the store at least every 2 month do we are used to the nice and friendly staff. The owner is a jerk. It is kind of clean but not much. Alot of the room is taken up by tables and if they allow you to return something the owner will get mad. I returned an item that i never opened and the owner,john,accused me of removing something from the inside. He forgot to include it and called me a liar when he did not find it. He took it back but also took me off the stores comic list. Meaning they will not save me a copy of any comics i wanted to reserve. Go to anywhere else for better service and prices. read more

My first time here and I'm impressed. Clean and brightly lit. Logan was incredibly helpful and he even gave me a bit of a deal since I was from out of town and it was my first time there. It's been years since I've visited the store, which recently moved to its new Pompano Beach location. Moving was one of my first suggestions when I became manager of the store in 2005. For a while, I was afraid that the store wasn't going to survive, especially with competition from the newly opened and highly organized Boca Comics on Federal Highway. Surprisingly, several months after I moved from Boca Raton to Upstate New York (I'd stopped working at the store a year and a half beforehand) Boca Comics bit the dust, and it seems that Lost Realms is doing very well for itself. Because of the owner John's obvious commitment to keeping his store in synch with good business management, I give the store four stars, and urge you to visit and review the new store. read more

A pretty great comic shop and game store. The staff is surprisingly pleasant for a comic book store. Their back issues are great. Not uncommon to be able to find the last 10 to 20 issues of a book. I was able to pick up some of the new DC 52 from issues 1-19 at cover price (with the exception of #1 which were still reasonably priced compared to online). There game section is nice. They have a great selection of paints and brushes for miniatures. Not a huge selection for actual miniature but that makes sense with all the different lines it would take a lot of space. It store seems to be two storefronts from the outside but they only seem to be using one. I wish it was closer to my house. read more

Docking Bay 94 is a Wonderful place. I have been bringing my son who is now 11 almost every Saturday for the last 4 years. The staff John (owner), Jonathan and Logan are wonderful with the kids. My son loves Pokémon, and now Magic with few other games. There are always new cards available for purchase. It is great to find a place where kids who are in to these games can go and be accepted. If you live in Boca, Pompano, Deerfield, or in the vicinity... this is the place to go to for comics and gaming paraphernalia. The staff is always welcoming and prepared to help you find a title, offer a recommendation, or just shoot the proverbial shizz. They are also good on accommodating special orders. I ordered a relatively rare title from them about a year ago. It took no time for them to get it in, and they promptly alerted me that my item was available for pickup (the whole process was less than two weeks). I'm not much of a gamer, but they seem to have an ample selection of gaming inventory. They also have organized matches of Pokemon, Magic, and other games. Nice little location. You kind of feel as if you are entering into a Friday the 13th movie when you park under the tall trees... in a good way. read more

There may be bigger stores out there, but you will not find a friendlier staff at any other store anywhere in any industry. Their staff is all incredibly knowledgeable about comics new and old, they also offer a free drawing class as well as a comic club. Their Magic and Yu Gi Oh tournaments are well run with 100% prize payout and there's a nice group of mini gamers and painters as well. Pretty sure the other reviews mentioning parking aren't aware of the additional parking behind the store. read more
