    A collector's heaven.
    Loraine D.

Rating: 2 04/29/20 Thanks to Night Owl Cookies, my son and I discovered this place a few months ago. It's right across the FIU campus, right off 8th St. No wonder they are so popular! There's ample parking and they are pretty much open all week. Sweet! STORE: The outside of the store front is mehhh... but the inside...and I quote my son...is "hallelujahhhhh" (that sound effects you hear in movies when referencing something that is heavenly and amazing). Ok, Anyway it's bigger that I expected and its loaded with tons of cool stuff! From comics, shirts, toys, action figures, cheap ones and super expensive ones.... you name it! It's our first comic store visit ever and my son was I comic heaven! He loves Godzilla, Batman and Star Wars! The store do have many different price points, but a lot of the stuff are in the expensive end. I mean they have some rare stuff. And I did noticed that they do have items on specials. And they have a wall full of Funko Pop for days!!! Across from that wall my son noticed a John Wick action figure set. I decided I will surprise him for his birthday later. SERVICE: There's only one guy on the counter during the days I visited. Not very approachable but they are ok. I don't know anything about comics so if would be helpful to have someone you can ask questions to without feeling like you are bothering them. Anyway, Fast forward to this month, I sent an inquiry via their Facebook page the week of April 25th to inquire if they are actually open because of the quarantine and about the John Wick set because we live far. I did not hear from anybody. I could've called yeah, but I'm tired. I work full-time and dealing with a 5th grade class full-time...at the same time! Anyway, So the following day, we happened to be in the area and since my son's bday is the following week I figured we could quickly run in to see if John Wick was still available. The guy on Saturday was nice, he answered a few of our questions and checked to see if the Pembroke Pines location have it. They did and will bring it to Kendall for free because the owner is coming anyway and that it would be ready next Wednesday. Perfect! Just in time for my son's birthday. I asked how much it was and he said $29.99. I was waiting for him to take my info but he said for me just to call. I have a bad feeling about this, because in the past people had sold what I had on hold to someone else. Anyway that didn't happen here. I was super excited! I am a huge Keanu Reeves fan too. So Wednesday comes. And where it went sour for me is when picked up the action figure. I was about to pay and I noticed the red price tag on it. I was elated to see that it was cheaper than I was told...now $24.99!!!And I was thinking maybe it's because it's the older action figure for the first movie not the one I was thinking of, part two with the black dog. So he rings it up and he tells me the total of $32 something and then I said but the tag says $24. And the guy (or maybe the owner) said well...no...that's not the right price...blah blah, I actually have to sell it for more "now" (meaning because of the quarantine)....blah blah...I mean it sounded like price gouging to me. It just sounded like he was making up some excuses. There was a complete disregard to the customer's rationale, I hear what you are telling me sir....but the proof is in the pudding...the price tag says otherwise. My eyes could not unsee the cheaper price. And if you forgot to remove it, that's not my fault. It just made me realize there's a lack of integrity and moral principles in this place and I wanted to grab my kid and get out. Listen, I arrived there fully aware that the action figure was going to be $29.99. I was a desperate mom that was prepared to make my son's birthday wish come true, especially that we can't have people over for his birthday. But as a business, please pay attention to those minor details, change the tag, or better yet remove the tag. You had plenty of time to do so between Saturday and Wednesday. Because right there and then, that's false advertising, price gouging even...and overall it did not feel right. I felt taken advantaged of...is it because I'm a woman? A great Customer service 101 thing to do here is to do the right thing and honor the price tag. It's for a child. On his birthday. And he was loving this place. But it looks like I'll be getting cookies from next door without him from now on. The place is cool but beware of the price tags.

My son loves this store, he waits for the whole week to visit on Saturdays. Awesome place to visit, staff is super friendly. Recommend.

What an awesome store to visit, there is something for everyone. My son is addicted to this store on Saturday afternoons. He looks forward to see Luis and to play in the Deadpool pinball machine. The store is out of this world and puts a smile on my son's face every time. See u next Saturday Korka comics. Thank you Luis.

I love Korka, it's one of those comic shops I wish I can bring with me to New York. The owner is great, the atmosphere is friendly, there are tons of comics, and a ton of collectibles at decent prices. Keep in mind I didn't say toys---I said collectibles. So understanding the concept of a decently priced collectible versus a toy are two different things. They have an enormous selection of Pops, short of BTL Collectibles and his monthly toy event Korka has the best selection. It is hard to walk away without wanting to grab a new release. At the moment it's the Lucy and Ricky Ricardo Pop that caught my attention. I did pick up some comics. But I was originally there to see an old friend in that relaxed atmosphere. They recently moved the store down the same plaza into a much larger space next door to Night Owl Cookies and added a few consoles for some old school video gaming. Whether you live in Miami or are visiting, it's a great spot for your subscriptions or to just come in to grab a quick pull.

It's been a while since I visited a comic shop. I grew up a huge comic fan, and built up a pretty decent collection. Somewhere along the line I just kind of fell off of buying and collecting comics. So recently I heard about a couple of cool story lines and issues that looked really interesting so I decided to come give Korka a try. They have a a really good selection and stock a pretty good amount of new releases as well as back issues. They have a bunch of cool toys and figures too. You cannot miss the ridiculous amount of Funko Pops that they have aligning almost all the walls. Would really like to keep coming back and keep up with some new issues as I get back into this great passion of reading and collecting comics. If you can't find what you are looking for here they also have another location in Pembroke Pines.

Organized and alphabetized. I like it like that.

This place is great! The only reason I didn't award it five stars is it's comic book selection. A & M Comics has (by far) a much better selection. It's still a great, clean, and spacious store (unlike A & M), I just wasn't impressed with the selection. I also want to add that their prices are a couple bucks higher than what you'd normally see. I didn't purchase anything, but I did finger through some bins, and noticed the average price was five of six bucks. Normally, prices are two to four bucks, which is why I gave it three dollar signs. I feel like that's a pretty significant difference.

One of the biggest funko collections ive seen in a comic book store especially considering the size of the place

I've been coming to Korka since it opened and in all my years of reading comics and going to shops, its one of the only ones I truly enjoy going to on a regular basis. I live about 5-10mins away (depending on traffic) from the store and its the first time Ive had a comic book store so close by. I've gotten used to buying big volumes from book stores and other comics store bc I wasn't sure when I'd be able to make the next drive to get something, meaning I was always behind with the latest issues coming out which sucked for me. Having Korka so close has given me the chance to start getting into buying single issues and I enjoy it so much more! The staff is also very nice, knowledgeable and helpful and will look for issues for you or tell you if somethings out of stock (Richard is the best!!) You can also create a subscription with them with a list of what comics you want and they'll reserve them for you to pick up! Which came in handy for DC rebirth The store also has a large selection of Funko pop figures. One if the largest I've seen especially for such a small place (I don't even think Tates is that extensive) as well as other figurines, toys and knick knacks. I really recommend it for anyone who loves to embrace the nerd in them haha

A Barnes and Noble employee recommend it to me in 2016, since then I visited several times. I got some back issues at a reasonable price.

At this point, I should just have my paycheck forwarded to Korka Comics!…read more This new location is centrally located and a short drive (or ride-share) from South Miami, Brickell, Coral Gables, and Coconut Grove. It offers pretty much everything you could want in collectibles, comics, and more! A subscription service is available for those avid readers like myself and if you're into Funko Pops, their inventory is one of the largest in the county. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable in all things comics and pop culture. Need a back issue or a hard to find collectible, they can help you find it! With three locations, chances are, they have it. The not so good news - The store has limited parking on site, but fear not! There are several parking garages nearby and if you ride-share, it's easy to find! I highly recommend paying them a visit if you're an aficionado like myself.

Don't waste your time in coming to this location (the one on 8th street is awesome). I had called…read morein advance to ask if they had a specific Pop and the girl on the phone had no idea what I was talking about and didn't even bother checking to see if they had it in stock, she just just flat out said they had sold out. Luckily, I ended up stopping by anyways because we were in the area and I had a feeling the girl on phone was lying. Lo and behold they had two sitting on the shelf in plain sight. Hire people that know your products and can do something just as simple as getting up and checking for an item, it's not that difficult. (Side note: Not their fault, but the parking is also terrible. It took us 10 minutes just to find a spot.)
