I would much rather go to the smaller local guy instead of the big-box/big overhead/big mark-up guys, so reached out to Seminole Pool Supply, and gave my current motor and pump configuration to Alexis, who advised that they had a matching, rebuilt 1.5 hp pump on-hand for $115. She also told me that they do free bench testing if I were to bring in my old motor, and if it was salvageable then they would rebuild it for $65. Both prices sounded more than fair to me - with new motors running in excess of $350+ - so I yanked my old motor, and drove the 35 miles to Sanford. Totally worth it the effort, as it turns out... Upon arrival, I was greeted by Alexis and her team immediately got to work on the tear-down. But first, a side note about Alexis's eyes. Alexis has eyes of the most amazing blue. And those blue eyes, up close, are a celestial phenomenon: Nebulae as seen through telescopes; the light of unnamed stars diffused through dusts and elements and endlessness. Layers of light. Blue eyes that are like starlight. Sorry for the segue.. Back to the review! The investigation of my pool pump motor revealed that it was seized (I wasn't surprised), and that the motor was beyond economic repair. Bummer, right? Now the cool, customer-oriented part and why I'd MUCH rather go to the local folks: Alexis said that she was mistaken, and that they only had a rebuilt 2.0 hp motor, with no 1.5 hp motors in stock. I internally prepped myself for the inevitable song and dance about the impending up-charge... But Alexis and Seminole Pool Supply would honor the price quoted over the phone. Done deal! Their tech - a tall, good looking (no homo!) dude named Kevin - brought me my new (to me) motor, and passed along some sage advice on connecting it to power. Alexis took my money, and sent me on my way. I got home, connected the power, and everything was all good! My neighbors will like me again without the 100 decibel scream of my old pool pump, my pool can go back into service, and I can crack a beer and look back with pride on a job well done... Today I had the pleasure of interacting with the owner, who parked his company van in a way that completely blocked the view of oncoming traffic for anyone trying to exit the community. The car ahead of me struggled to get out, so I rolled my window down and let him know he was blocking visibility at an actual intersection. His response? "What do you want me to do?" I suggested the obvious: pull up a little so people can see. He said he couldn't because it would block the guest lane. I suggested pulling to the other side. His response? That would block the resident lane. Here's the fun part: there was no one in either lane and still about 100 feet of empty space in every direction. But apparently, basic spatial awareness and public safety were too much to ask. So instead, the owner of this company chose to block an intersection, argue about it, and refuse to move--despite being told it was dangerous. I still couldn't see oncoming traffic, and when I finally made a left turn, I almost got T-boned. If this is how this man handles a simple, common-sense situation--being made aware that he's creating a legitimate safety hazard--I can't imagine trusting him with heavy equipment, construction, or something as basic as pool maintenance. I wouldn't trust him to dig a hole in my backyard, let alone manage a pool, even if he were the last option on Earth. Unprofessional, inconsiderate, and wildly irresponsible. Hard pass.

I changed to their weekly pool service and this is the first year in many I have not had an algae bloom or any skin irritation. We have an older chlorine pool and they keep it clean, swept, and in balance. I am home sometimes when they are here and see them checking the chemical levels. They have been honest with providing services, arriving at nearly the same time each week and my pool stays beautiful. I am very pleased and believe I get good value from them.

The owner, Jason, was extremely disrespectful and dismissive throughout the entire situation. Looking back, I should have trusted the negative reviews I saw before booking with them instead of brushing them off. One of their pool technicians came out on Monday to inspect our filter. According to Jason, the filter was inspected but not cleaned or serviced. He also stated that at the time of inspection, there were no signs of leaking or damage after the technician left. The very next day, we noticed a leak coming from the filter area. When we contacted Jason about it, instead of taking any accountability or even considering that something may have happened during the visit, he immediately claimed the unit was "old and broken" and needed to be completely replaced for $1,700. How does that make any sense? One day the filter supposedly shows no signs of leaking or damage, and immediately after their technician visits, it suddenly becomes "broken" and needs a costly replacement? Jason completely disregarded the obvious concern that something may have happened during or after the inspection. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect from the owner alone is enough for me to never use this company again. I did not know that hose bib timers existed or that they were so affordable. Adding water to my pool is one less thing I need to remember to do, because Blissful Waters takes care of it for me. I'm also providing an update on my situation with the replacement Quattro cleaner I received in March 2024. (See my previous review.) First off, hats off to Marco for going ABOVE AND BEYOND for me relative to this product! I'm not sure anyone else would have made this much effort, but he truly values his longtime customers. The new Quattro did not even last 20 months! Starting in September, I noticed the cleaner was not climbing the pool walls properly. It then no longer rotated and would stall at the steps. Marco has been trying to discover what is at the center of this malfunction for several months, replacing various parts in an attempt to get it to work properly. He contacted his local Fluidra representative and they first said the Quattro was out of warranty. Marco would not take that position as a final answer. He requested the manufacturer send an entire new set of "guts" and he replaced every part FREE OF CHARGE. Sadly, the Quattro still does not run properly. I'll be looking to buy a new cleaner in the Spring, but Marco was not finished. He is working with the representative to see what discount I would receive on a future Quattro should I decide to stay with this manufacturer. (Not sure I will do that given the quality problems with this cleaner and the fact the manufacturer does not stand behind its defective product.) However, I give Marco extra credit to attempt to get me the best deal possible. Worst pool service I've ever had in my 25 years as a homeowner. They wouldn't do that and instead wanted to call/text before they came over. That would have been great but they didn't even do that. I let my dogs out one day and some guy I've never seen before was standing in my backyard. My dogs went nuts. He sprayed them with water in an effort to not get attacked. Half the time they never showed up at all. I'd rather just clean the pool myself...
