If you ever wondered how not to represent your own business, look no further than Professional Poolcare and Construction. Today I had the pleasure of interacting with the owner, who parked his company van in a way that completely blocked the view of oncoming traffic for anyone trying to exit the community. The car ahead of me struggled to get out, so I rolled my window down and let him know he was blocking visibility at an actual intersection. His response? "What do you want me to do?" I suggested the obvious: pull up a little so people can see. He said he couldn't because it would block the guest lane. I suggested pulling to the other side. His response? That would block the resident lane. Here's the fun part: there was no one in either lane and still about 100 feet of empty space in every direction. But apparently, basic spatial awareness and public safety were too much to ask. So instead, the owner of this company chose to block an intersection, argue about it, and refuse to move--despite being told it was dangerous. I still couldn't see oncoming traffic, and when I finally made a left turn, I almost got T-boned. If this is how this man handles a simple, common-sense situation--being made aware that he's creating a legitimate safety hazard--I can't imagine trusting him with heavy equipment, construction, or something as basic as pool maintenance. I wouldn't trust him to dig a hole in my backyard, let alone manage a pool, even if he were the last option on Earth. Unprofessional, inconsiderate, and wildly irresponsible. Hard pass. read more

We contracted for a pool refinish, retiling, deck refinish, and turning our spa into a tanning ledge. Poor communication and follow through plagued the job. Pete will likely reply and blame us as he has done for other negative reviews. We gave him multiple attempts to fix the problems to no avail and many times he blamed us even though we did what he asked and more. He started in October and today in February, we finally asked him not to return because enough is enough and we need to hire another company to fix his mistakes. He stated we had unrealistic expectations. He may post pictures and from afar it may look good but up close the details are messy and unprofessional at best. GREAT SERVICE AND SUPER FRIENDLY! This was my first time using this company and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought I was never going to get my pool back in working order. My pool was SUPER GREEN, with maybe 6 inches of pool slug and I also needed a new motor for my pump. I thought it was going to cost me an arm and leg and I have to say it did NOT. They worked with me on the price and even offered financing, if need be (another surprise). Pete removed all the slug from the bottom of the pool and performed a complete acid wash. Since the price was very reasonable, we also decided to change the entire pump versus just changing the motor. Communication is key! Michelle and Pete communicated with me the whole way through. Provided many estimates and answered all my questions. It has been almost a month since the work has been completed and everything is still working in tip top shape. Take your business elsewhere. I think the positive reviews they have on google are all manufactured. They have a deserved F BBB rating and at best a C on Angie's List. I am extremely dissatisfied with this company and would not recommend them to anyone. Update: I have now been with a different company for over a year. I now realize how wonderful it is to have a great, responsive pool company that actually cleans my pool and keeps it clear. With Professional Poolcare, my pool was consistently green with algae growth, and I'm horrified that I put up with their horrific service for as long as I did. read more

I used this company for almost a year and although the reviews on their website are good I have had an unfortunate bad experience with extremely poor service. The technician who cleaned my pool did a very poor job and my skimmer and canister filters were always dirty. I had actuators which were burned out that was never brought to my attention. My salt cell had melted and wasn't working which I had to discover even though he came weekly. I replaced the salt cell by myself as they wanted to charged 170$ over the price of the salt cell which took about 2 minutes to replace. The girl who answers the phone is very nice but couldn't ever seem to get my service tech to communicate with me or do a better job. It wasn't until I told them that I was canceling my service that I was offered a new technician. The service tech couldn't even take the time to call me and help me learn about how to change valves and better understand how to help him take care of my pool. The pool was constantly dirty and the equipment was straining to work against itself which eventually burned out my circuit board which had to be replaced for about 1000$. the repair company who replaced my circuit board showed me that my heat pump hadn't been working either and the fan was frozen yet another thing never discussed by "professional poolcare". I called the owner Pete DeGregory who clearly didn't care cause he never called me back when I asked to speak with him upon stopping service. I am a professional and based on my experience with this company professional probably shouldn't be in their title. BTW my new pool company 'All Pool' on Edgewater is awesome and my pool is crystal clear with all the equipment working properly. read more

I'm renting a beautiful pool home near downtown and asked the landlord if she would "fire" her pool people (they were not doing anything worth the money she was paying them) and let me handle the pool maintenance - she agreed. Well... I had no clue how to maintain a DE filter, what DE was or mostly anything. I was backwashing weekly but not putting in any DE to recharge. After a month or so of this behavior the pressure would go +10psi in one day... I knew something was not right. Thus began my obsession on researching the DE filter. I found their website and watched a bunch of videos and felt real good about deciding to see if they would be interested in helping me out a bit, cleaning my filter and educating me on what I need to do properly moving forward. Jason came out and was amazing. Very patient with me, gave me some awesome pointers and even went over and above to help me get the pool light working. I hardly ever write reviews but had to for this company because they go above and beyond. Great people. Amazing service. Hey Orlando: This is the only pool service worth considering in Ocoee, Winter Garden, Apopka, West Orlando, Dr. Phillips, Sandlake Road and most of Turkey Lake neighborhoods The great thing about the guys at Professional Poolcare of Orlando is their sincerity and professionalism. These two factors alone make me want them as our pool care company for many years to come. I owe them a HUGE APOLOGY for giving them a (1) star review on Google for a misunderstanding. That was wrong. And, you know what? They still came, in the driving rain to look at our pool, as promised, on time. Amazing... Often times people, especially cranky consumers (like me) take sincerity and professionalism for granted as I may have done with this company. So this is an acknowledgment that they were right and I was wrong about a simple matter. Fact of the matter is, these guys do a fabulous job and I am grateful for the level of effort and outstanding work that they perform on our older, out door troublesome pool. My pool was serviced for four months from this company. They got the pool useable from it being green after last pool guy was fired. Were unable to completely vacuum the debris from the bottom of the pool after trying once a week for a month but the water was blue. Forgot to place chlorine tablets in dispenser one week. Pool turned green, after calling for two weeks about issue. Michelle the receptionist laughed about the issue and blamed the weather. All of my neighbors pools are cleaned. She can not follow thru with calling you back. I would take your business else where. All its been for me personally is a constant battle and reminders to them to do their job. read more

After reading the reviews and talking to Pete, I thought I had made a great decision to hire the company to clean and vacuum my above ground pool. I WAS WRONG. I left several messages to set up an appt. over a week's period before I was able to speak with Michelle who scheduled me for a Saturday appt. And the fact that I had to call so many times before I received a return call should have been a red flag. But, I was so impressed by my initial conversation with Pete that I figured they were simply busy. Well, I should have heeded to the red flag of the no return call because, the cleaner did not show for the scheduled Sat. appt. nor did he call to let me know this. In fact, I call the office to inquire but, of course no one answered and I ended up leaving another message. So, my surprise comes Monday morning when they ring my doorbell. I should have followed my intuition and declined the service at that point but, I didn't and it just got worse from that point. The cleaner Dominic did not have the equipment needed to clean the pool but, said he would return to do it but, I could pay him before. Which I did and he did come back however, he was there for not even thirty minutes when he said he was done. The water was not clean but, Dominic said he had vacuumed the bottom, shocked the pool and I had to run my pump non stop and give it a day or two. While a day later I called them back, the water was clear but, the pool bottom had not been vacuumed as I was told it was. I spoke with Michelle who said she would call me back to setup another apt to send Dominic back out. It was nearly a week and no call so I called them again and found out that apparently the equip they needed to use to clean my pool was broken. It would be fixed in a few days... A few days later equip was still broken but, Dominic did come back out to the house to try and scoop debris from the pool floor. The next day I sent the company an email with photos of the pool because the pool floor was still full of debris letting them know that I was not satisfied as the pool was in no way resembling the "like brand new" quality that Pete had promised during our initial phone call. Guess what? No response to my email so a few days later I call again. This time I talk to Pete who tells me that it sometimes takes several weekly trips to clean a pool and that they would be back to my home for a third visit to clean it. Well, its been three weeks and no return to my home. I've wasted the $95 they charged for the service because I ended up buying an inexpensive vacuum to clean my pool myself. This is not a stand up, trust-worthy, professional company! No customer should have to call numerous times to simply try to get the quality service they were promised and hoping for. I would never recommend them and I'm telling everyone I know about how terrible, indifferent and uncaring their service is! read more
