Didn't get to eat here because no one was at the hosts station to greet us. Someone saw us and continued to ignore me and my family.

The southern biscuit platter is how you should do brunch!…read more My recent visit didn't feature the best service (except from the hostess... she was not only best dressed, but also seemed to be running the floor!), but the biscuit platter was still fabulous! I requested figs (on another menu item), and my served said 'sorry, the kitchen is out.' Well, the kitchen had given me figs, and the figs, ham, and cheese on a biscuit... perfection. Thank goodness for great hostesses and a fabulous kitchen! Side note: there were also no Bloody Marys because 'the kitchen ate them...' Definitely made my day in terms of language!

The cheese grits were the best I've ever had. They were packed with flavor and I could taste the different cheeses. Honestly, I think they were even better than the French toast. However, I was disappointed that they only served pork sausage and didn't have any options for chicken or turkey. It's 2026! Not everyone eats pork anymore. The only positive aspect of the service was the waitress. When my friend and I first walked in, we barely got greeted with a hello. The young lady seemed disinterested and didn't even bother to smile. As a former hostess, I know how important it is to make a good impression on your guests. Based on my initial reaction, I was ready to leave. Her energy was so bad! But once the server came, she was friendly and made sure we were taken care of. The restaurant was quite busy after we got our food, and we sort of lost touch with our server. It was understandable because she was handling a lot of tables. The interior of the restaurant was super cute, and the bathrooms were clean. I enjoyed dining there, but I hope they hire someone else to greet guests and make them feel welcome in the future.

The…read morenew location was beautifully curated and had a cozy, but upscale vibe that we're used to seeing at OBC Kitchen. They even have cozy blankets available for their fireside, outdoor dining spots; a very cute and clever touch. The bar beautifully highlights their bourbon selection which is as expansive as you would expect being in the heart of The Bluegrass As expected, the cocktails were amazing! We tried a few of their seasonal selections, a classic cocktail, and a Four Roses Small Batch neat. All were fantastic! The gin cocktail "he who shall not be named" was well balanced, bright, and overall easy to drink-a crowd pleaser! The milk and sugar (classic cocktail) and the pumpkin espresso martini were coffee-forward, not too sweet options that made for a perfect "dessert" drink without feeling like you were drinking syrup. If you want a fun, new take on some classic cocktails- OBC is never the wrong choice! Now- the food! We had the Parker's Roll- they came out piping hot in a cute cast iron skillet, a cute nod to the KY Southern cooking that I grew up with. The rosemary had just enough presence to be different/modern but was not in your face, which was a bonus for me-but if you're hoping for super flavor forward rolls these may not be for you. Not pictured, my husband's caprese chicken- it was perfectly seared with just the right amount of crispness, the marinara and caprese salad on the side were the perfect amount of freshness and brightness to lighten up the dish. The short ribs and cheesy grits felt like home- a great dish for a rainy, fall night. No complaints here! We also split the hashbrown au gratin- it was yummy, the jalapeño was pepper first, heat second and had just the right amount of freshness and heat to make an otherwise "classic" dish just a little bit more special. SERVICE! While this is a new-to-us location, OBC is a well established, well executed restaurant and the service reflects their heritage. We were fortunate to be one of the tables that Rachel and Jake were working with tonight- Rachel was training but never missed a step and honestly, was a DELIGHT to spend the evening with. :) She was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. She was not "pushy" and gave us plenty of time to just enjoy each course of our meal without being interrupted with ordering the next step. Jake (her trainer) checked in every now and then for feedback on how Rachel was doing, he was always polite and helpful but honestly, not necessary because she was amazing! We also had a few members of the bar team and "runners" check in/deliver drinks and food throughout the meal- they were all polite, timely, kind, and willing to help even if it was outside of their typical "role". Price point: for us, the meal was a little more than we would pay for "just dinner" but for a rare, parents-only, night out it was perfectly reasonable. We will probably reserve this for an "occasion" or a showcase dinner when we have friends in town BUT it is perfect for that! Overall, a great time, with great people, and great food! We're excited to have them on the north side of town!

Dark and mysterious bourbon cellar vibe that serves up some killer food…read more Make a reservation for this loud and potentially dark, depending on where you're seated, foodie joint. Or maybe slip into the bar unannounced. Super friendly! As they've outgrown the Tates Creek location and are building out the new location, the website and Google conflicted on who's open and where. At the moment I'm here on TC. To make sure I knew where I was going, Grace called to confirm my reservation and the correct location. Bonus points! If you're reading this they've already moved to Turner Commons. Maybe the best fries I've ever had. Seriously! I love a fry. The thicker the better. These aren't steak fries but a healthy, house cut, seasoned to perfection. I could make a meal of of these with the dipping sides of smoked tomato ketchup (meh), lemon-garlic rosemary aioli (oh yeah), and a thai chili dipping sauce (B I N G O) $9 Cola-Braised Shirt Ribs were good. The greens with bacon, I mean, bacon, rocked better than other sides in the past. So there's a win. The scoop of grits were delicious and made for a perfect trifecta @ $33. Wanting something more refreshing yet still filling? I highly recommend the Heirloom Tomatoes/Watermelon/Burrata salad $22. You will think it's huge, and it is, but you'll clean your plate. Dessert? Well. That's bourbon, Son. OBC has an exceptional collection. Peruse options on the iPad to get hints of flavors, proofs, and costs. May I suggest the Stag Single Barrel? It's uncut, unfiltered, and a very limited batch from Buffalo Trace. It's a beauty and a beast. Being a date Collect your friends Join a party Does not matter OBC is where you should band give Akeem a shout out at the bar on the way to your table

Traveling from the South it was a place to be in Lexington, Kentucky. The food we heard was to be…read moregood. And that was from someone who grew up in Lexington, Kentucky. He even made a few recommendations. So, with a group of 6 of us, we went in to give it a try. Good thing we did make a reservation. The place was packed. It is a rustic place. Nothing fancy. Think rural and horse farm area. That is what this is about. Wooden tables and chairs. Nothing fancy. We sat down, got the menus and started to think on what we would have. I went for the recommendation. We also had a mix of pulled pork, brisket, and even pot roast. Very traditional and simple. All meals came with two sides and a low price. Of course, we started with some drinks. One special drink is the ALE 8....This is their version of Ginger Ale. It is served in the bottle (no glass). It is much lighter than the ginger ale we know of. And a bit sweeter. Typical of the region that even serves sweet iced tee with a meal. It is not too cold the ALE 8. But it is something to try. Taking some time the meals came out. Having the one I selected I received the CAIJUN CATFISH. I also selected the Fried Okra and Pickled Beets. The dish also came with hush puppies and corn bread. Very Southern in style here in Kentucky. The fish was good. It was warm and crispy. It had a style that tasted fine and then had a kick once you swallowed it. That was a good touch. The beets were wonderful. The hush puppies nice. Even the cornbread was as expected. The okra was cool and had to be sent back to warm it up. It came out once more but did not have the taste expected with fried okra. As for the pulled pork dishes they were all good. They had a good style for themselves. Each region might have pulled pork, but their sauce and spices vary by each location and chef. This was a bit sweeter but was still fresh. Even the pot roast was looking fine. It was traditional in a brown sauce and seasoned as expected. It came with mashed potatoes (also fresh) and the sides being ordered with this meal. Of note, each day they have different specials on the menu. This time one of them was baked apples (delicious). There was also a special season squash...ideal. Overall, Ramsey's is a place to visit and give it a try. The team was nice (if under staffed) and the price is perfect. It is a low price for a good portion of food. It is something different and worth the stop. I would go back again, but this time try something else. It is a place to explore.
